Over the summer I visited Prague and decided to head over to the new Trilab HQ in Hradec. Trilab has recently been partly acquired by Prusa Research. This is a short story about their growth and their plans for the future.

I think this is the first actual interview/discussion with Trilab that wasn't just a PR piece. I kept wondering when we would see a Delta Prusa, but I see now this is Business to Business and not aimed at consumers, so pricing and functionality are not to be compared as directly.
@3DMakerNoob
@3DMakerNoob Год назад
Yep, and unfortunately not everyone understands that concept, so people try to justify the price by comparing it to a budget delta printer.

@@3DMakerNoob It's just a fact of the consumer industry right now. Your printer is cheap, it becomes the one people talk about. Don't need to worry about paying a salary, R&D, etc. Cheap cheap cheap and if it's not then it's scorned. Meanwhile go from $600-$2000 to $50k and call it an industrial machine and everyone goes "oh, that's so cool" even if it doesn't add too much over even a consumer printer.

I decided very early on that delta's would be the best for my shoes (FUSED footwear) and haven't looked back since. Awesome to see what Trilab is doing!

Love the concept and design of your shoes and I can definitely see why Deltas would be the way to go

I hope to see a review of these trilab printers soon. There's not much going around and it seems to be behind a bit of closed door for me. And that seems like a red flag when purchasing something like this for an advanced maker space/ university... I also don't see much of a benefit besides the height ? correct me if I'm wrong. Great video though ! glad to see some BTS

I hope to get the chance to review one of their machines and also be able to elaborate on all the details that set them apart. Granted that there is a lack of visibility, so hopefully that can change going forward. I first came across them about 4 years ago in Prague in a little booth at the maker faire, it’s impressive to see how far they’ve come with such little exposure

Some time ago I did a review of the Trilab DeltiQ2. It's a great machine... But... 😐 Here is a link. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p2SZ54NXJi4.html The review is in czech, but you can use translation of the subtitles. Soon will be also translation on my English RU-vid channel youtube.com/@zemistr3d 😉

In this video all the printers seem to be printing way too slow. My Delta prints at least twice as fast.🤔

It all depends on the material you are using i guess

They're obviously great printers, however I find it hard to justify the price.. My V400 prints with the same quality for a fraction of the price and I can work on it by myself.. Good products but overpriced, as for anything that has to do with Prusa.. Look at the Sovol SV06.. Same exact parts of the MK3S+ FOR 240€
@MrBerndhorst
@MrBerndhorst Год назад
I guess from a B2B perspective a couple hunderd bucks more quickly becomes almost irrelevant if other factors like relieability and support are even slightly better. Prusa made a name for it self mostly on the basis of these things. Ultimately it seems there is space in the market for both these high priced manufacturers providing some less tangible benefits as well as the more budget oriented hardware companies. I got a creality printer my self and while it was amazing value for money it sure has a whole range of quircks that I personally dont mind but wouldn't want to deal with if I was using it in a comercial setting

Somehow I doubt that FLSUN can give you the same warranty or the same specialized personal assistance on a large scale that companies like Trilab can, or maybe have FLSUN come and fix your printer in your farm if something goes wrong. The cost is there for a reason, you can't just look at the machine, you have to look at what goes on behind the scenes and what the company offers aside from the machine. The sovol SV06 is just another example of companies who benefit from the open source work done by others like prusa, yes they don't support genuine parts or offer the same level of customer service and warranty. It's like me comparing a mini minor to a mercedes, at the end of the day they both have 4 wheels, a steering wheels and a chassis, and both can get you from point A to point B. The difference is the way you get there, and what happens when you break down along the way
