Here is something you more than likely already know, but on the off chance you don't, here goes. When I use my Solo Stove, I load it up and let it burn down, load it again, let it burn for a bit then I put my kettle on. The coals alone produce enough heat to boil my water, but, I like to go nuclear so the second round of wood flames up burning most of the smoke off, resulting in little to no soot. As you mentioned, we can't get away from soot altogether, but this process comes as close as we can get. Thank you for the video, I've enjoyed many of yours and I will continue to work my way through them all. Thank you for sharing and all my best to you. Bibsoutdoors

Thanks for your feedback on my solo stove review 👍🏻😁 I bought the Titan because it’s a little bit larger … so I don’t have to feed it with twigs so often 🤔 But it’s a small detail that doesn’t matter much ☺️ The fact is that it’s a great stove for Bushcrafters 🔥🌤

I have been looking at this stove for a while, I like how it all nest together and the fire is contained in a nice tight area. So when you are done cooking or using it, you can make sure it is totally out before you leave the area. Love that and with is being contained it cuts down on fires getting out of hand in less than desirable conditions. Agreed totally with you, be a much safer alternative to some of the other stoves, especially for the lunch time deals where you will be moving after you eat etc. I have that same metal coffee cup as the one in this video, it is light and durable, but will burn the crud out of your lips if you are impatient like I normally am, so looking forward to carving my own wooden coffee mug sometime in the near future,. Fun stuff my friend, I appreciate you taking the time to share this stove with us. Keep us posted on the suit issues with the new stove. I know you will use it a lot and make a lot of coffee with it, so you will be able to tell us soon how well it is doing. Thanks again and have a blessed weekend. Dale

Excellent demonstration! I purchased the Titan and Bush Pot 1800 around the end of the year (2019) and Solo Stove had a deal going where I got two Titan stoves for the price of one. Today I had to pick up another Bush Pot 1800 to go with the free Titan. I'm impressed with the quality of the gear and how it stows together.

Well done Tom. I am new to your channel and have watched a number of your more recent videos before this. An impressive stove. I like your 'prepare ahead of time' methodology with your large tinder pouch. You could also do this with your 'next fire twig set' rolled up in a 30 cm x 30 cm piece of cloth. I had a look on the Internet for more stove & pot details details - seems a very good application of 'rocket stove' design; with innovation. My Thai wife cooks on a Thai fire bucket (rocket stove concept) every day, using only dried twigs from our garden. She enjoys the time for reflection as she cooks. Her tinder is 2 cm x 5 cm pieces of motorcycle inner tube. We have a beautifully appointed indoor western style kitchen; not used very much. This stove and cook systems seems very fuel-efficient to cook with, economical to run and of sturdy construction. A 6 inch Chinese bamboo steamer should sit on the top of the pot adding variety to your cooking styles and meal preparation. Thank you again, Greg in Thailand
@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag

Thank you for another great video. I have a similar Chinese copy and it works well for short, intense cooking, like boiling water. I find the folding stoves better for long periods of cooking though, as they burn slower and I can feed in long branches. I look forward to more of your very polished and professional productions, I don't know how you manage to generate so many good ideas for subjects to film.
@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag
Thank you so much Anthony for your kind and positive feedback 👍🏻😊 I agree with you about the stoves 👌🏻🔥 But as I tell in my video … I prefer the Solo Stove because it’s cleaner to handle 👋🏻😇 I’m glad you appreciate my video quality … that means a lot to me 🙏🏻😎 thanks Hope you’ll have a wonderful weekend and holidays 🌤🔥
@anthonyjacobs6790
@anthonyjacobs6790 5 лет назад
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag , I agree it is cleaner, but it also takes more space. Then again, I store my fire kit inside and I also carry leather work gloves so my hands don't get too dirty with any stove. Have you heard the English saying "different horses for different courses?" Plus, I think part of the enjoyment is having different kit and trying out different combinations. I don't have anyone in the real world to discuss these things with, so talking to you and others on RU-vid is the next best thing.

Did you have any luck firing up the twigs? For some very weird reason I have not been able to start the fire on twigs to even use my Solo Stove... I even used a lighter to light up the twigs for minutes the fire starts and then die in 30 seconds. I tried again and again and again with no result. I am thinking about using a flame thrower to fire the damn thing...
@elwynsmith5092
@elwynsmith5092 5 лет назад
I have't had any trouble starting a fire in my solo stove so I don't have any suggestions -I can see why you are P O-ed.
@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag
Hmmm maybe you use to big twigs ? I start with very small ones … no bigger than a pencil And it has to be completely dry. Let me know if my suggestion helps 😊👍🏻🔥
@rockefelleragent1357
@rockefelleragent1357 5 лет назад
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag I used the tiny ones. I tried to light the thing with a lighter for minutes and it does catch fire but dies off in 15 secs~ 30 sec. I tried this at two different times. I held the stick with my hand to fire these.. I can't say the twigs were 100% dried but it seems very odd why fire doesn't stay using a lighter. What if you run into a situation where the twigs are slightly damp due to moist in the air or in a rainy day? Even if the twigs were covered with a tarp firing up these twigs would be completely impossible based on my experience I can't even light up the damn dried twigs how am I gonna fire up slightly damp twigs? I am concerned cause I'll be moving out to the wilderness and live in a tent soon.. I would be doomed.. I was even thinking of buying a flame thrower maybe that will do the trick. You know what forget it I think I'll just go with the propane gas stove....

I have a plethora of stoves. Two FireBox Stoves (the big one and the Nano), a couple Chinese gassifier knock-offs of the SilverFire Scout, some box-style stoves of various sizes, a stainless steel knock-off of a Toaks Titanium Stove, and three Solo Stoves. Please don't tell my wife :-) My most recent acquisition is the Solo Stove Titan and the 1800 pot like yours. I put a small gauge screen in the burn chamber so I could use it with wood pellets. People get very long burn times with this type of fuel. I'm not a manly man like you, so I'm waiting for a real nice day to test it out. :-)

Birch is a good quality hard wood for fire stoves. Burns very fast though but its cleaner and safer than say a terpene rich softwood like pine. I prefer birch as a starter and then I mix with slow burners like Oak, Ash or Beech which burn slower with very little soot.

Hi William 👋🏻 thanks for your comment and support. I bought the Titan because I saw a video review of it … and decided that the one … a little bit bigger … was the Best Buy for my purposes. 🤗😉👍🏻

If you put dishwashing liquid on your pot, right out of the bottle n smear it all over the bottom n side of your pot/pan/skillet, it will wash right up n be clean in no time, as will your hands n the bag you use to store it in.. Old " Boy Scout", technique for camp cooking . Even with cast iron equipment.. Give it a try , ATB from Florida!

Hi Tom Kan du anbefale at købe Solo Stove gennem deres egen hjemmeside, eller er der bedre alternativer? Her tænker jeg på at få sendt fra USA til DK (skat + told). Tak for en meget informativ kanal, og god jul :-)

Cimbrer Bushcraft well, I could not resist the temptation any longer and I just ordered a Titan and 1800 pot. All I need to do next, is to grow a beard and start smoking a pipe ;). But seriously, thank you very much for videoing your trips to the forest, I find them inspiring. I didn’t find any Chaga today but one day I will and i’ll think of you when I make tea from it. Best wishes, Darryl, UK.

Hi Darryl 👋🏻 I’m sure you would regret buying the Titan model 👍🏻😊 it’s very versatile and you’ll love the clean burning and that it doesn’t gets hot 🔥 at the bottom …so you can move it if you need👌🏻 And I think you should grow that 🧔🏻 👍🏻. Better luck next time on your chaga Hunt 🦌 Atb to you 🌲🔥🌤🌳🦌⛺️

I have my bushbuddy for several years now.....and use it a lot on long distance trips and in the morning often on alcohol..so i can do other things while the water will boil. But see nothing about it on your video..is it to big...i mean i can imagine you have to put a fishcan under it so the alcoholburner will be close to the pot... Still having doubts to buy it or not..as its also bigger... anyway you can find me on Fb kayak cobber no profile overhere

Hello. I live in Germany in Niebüll. It is about 10 minutes away from Denmark. The nearest town is Tønder. I watched your video and I saw that you overnighted in a shelter somewhere in DK. Can you please tell me the location? Did it cost to overnight there? I would like to visit the place with my girlfriend. Maybe this summer or in the next. We want to try the Wild-Camping, and I thought it was a good opportunity to do that. I would be happy about your answer With greetings.

These stoves are top burning… why use small pieces?… I use 3inch diameter cut to 5 to 6 inch length and split… put those standing up and loaded full… smaller twigs and starters on top… for a minimum of 40 to 45 minutes of flames with no refilling…

its dead easy you need 3 different food tins a computer fan 12vt batterie holder batteries rivets or with out or self tapping screws scissors or sheet metal cutters a awl,the inner tin must perferated make holes in it cut slots around it and fold over the outer bigger tin the bigger tin make a whole on the side so the other small tin with computer fan fits horizontal, place wood in it and turn on the fan
