Great video love the lost Valley but avoid lighting open fires unless on river bed or remove turf and replace after use. I know there are lots of wild fire scars there and you probably used an existing site but still try and avoid. Apart from that love all your vlogs
Wee request…..quite an important one actually. Don’t build campfires on grassy surfaces. Yes there probably was a campfire there before but that’s no excuse. There are plenty of old river bed places in the valley for campfires if need be. On the principle of “leave no trace”….if you come across an old campfire on a grassy surface - scatter it - don’t reuse it just cause someone else did. Give the surface a chance to regenerate and don’t contribute to the increasing number of selfish campfire scars that sadly are littering our glens, forests and moors. Thanks
Having a camping partner helps in so many ways: I always had less boredom and felt more secure...and I had someone to appreciate my camp cooking skills!😊😊
Magnificent. Not just the views. I like the way brits make a conversation. Nice, Polite, caring and graceful/mellow. English is not my first language, so i have something to learn here. It is very pleasant to watch this film. Perhaps , watching nice people induces a nice feeling.
Happy new year Becky. You don't stay in one place too long, good to see another part of Scotland. Finally meet the boyfriend as well, so glad you had company. 🙂
Well done the pair of you. I’ve just got back after a ten day wild camp in Norfolk over Christmas and the New Year. Always great to get away from the crowds. 🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼
Hate to spoil anyone's romantic notions about the Clan McDonald hiding rustled cattle in the Hidden Valley.......but if you've travelled the route up to the valley....and know anything at all about highland coos.....unless the Glencoe McDonalds had access to Chinook helicopters - there's no way highland coos ever made it up to the Hidden Valley. :-)
Happy New year guys! This is a surprise Becky,I thought you'd be in hibernation lol. How does Jake like Scotland? It's good to see you've got company for a change...great video once again, take care and stay safe! :-)
Hello and Happy New Year to you. I have seen what you have put up about fires. My suggestion is to all those that want to light a fire is dig a shallow hole. Clear any dry vegetation around the area before lighting. Practice makes perfect as for many years this is my way of doing this. Also i carry a small amount of water with me to make sure the fire is out before leaving... Regards Mick.... x
Very nice video Becky, looked life you had a wonderful hike and overnight. Hope 2022 is just an absolutely awesome year for you. Cheers, take care, be safe and trek on.
Good up there Becky - nice and fresh. Not a great deal of snow on top right now but pretty none the less. I went up there a few years back - had a great time. Well all the best for the new year. Mark
Happy New Year Becky. Jumping over from Jake‘s channel. Nice to finally meet the girl that paints a thousand and one smile on our mate‘s face. Im so stoked to watch more of your adventures together. Cheers!
Love this darlin! I feel like I’m trying to give you quite serious replies to the questions in this 😂😂 Looking forward to more trips this year! Your smile is Intoxicating as always ;)
This video has made me very jealous because I know that I won't be back across the border for months, and the nearest I will get to Scotland is the tip of my drawing pen. Great video. The Hidden Valley is a magical place. I have a picture somewhere of me standing on top of that rock you camped under. I have at least four little hip flasks in my house, all of them presents from people who think they have no idea what to get me for Christmas, but one of them filled with a decent dram is the perfect thing to tuck into a corner of my rucksack for that night in the wild. Happy New Year to both of you and look forward to watching adventures future.
Great way to start 2022. Ever thought of getting some trekking poles or walking staff for crossing difficult terrain? How cold was it during the day and night?
The McDonald clan used to steal cattle from other clans , especially the campbells. The lost valley was where the cattle where hidden. you saw the terrain you had to cross to get there so it must have been quite a feat to get cattle there. That river crossing can be dangerous. I have seen it go from what you went through to waist deep in a couple of hours. Nice to see you visited the Claghaig inn. I love that place.
BTW that river cross as I mentioned can go from ankle deep to waist deep rapid when it's raining.. the best plan when that deep is to just cross it. you wont find anve a rope easy spot up or down the path. If you have a rope ( climbers ) use it to attach each other. first person cross feeling with poles and attached to rope. you can pull that person back if falls into river, if on other side that person shoud stay attached to rope . more than two crossing simple karabina to the rope. first and last persons have the most dangerous crossing
Awesome footage lassie, I've been planning this also for a while now after visiting the spot a few years back. Nice to meet Jake. All the best for 2022.
Great little video Becky👍 No more having to walk back and pick up your camera after a walk past shot for you from now on hey.!!😂 Wishing you both many amazing and happy adventures together🙂
I haven't been up in the Lost Valley (Coire Gabhail) in about 40 years Becky. Thanks so much for sharing your video. It brought back lovely memories. Is there still the sign above the Clachaig Inn main door which reads, "No Hawkers or Campbells!"? After nearly 330 years the Campbells are still not looked upon favourably in Glen Coe. Bliandha Mhath Ùr to you and Jake.
Lovely video from what looked like an exciting area! And the fact that you were two made it a little different from your other videos - in a good way. Have a splendid New Year!
Back then they did take the cattle up there . Their own cattle or stolen . There has been a few land slips to that trail since those days but they defo took cattle up . They took them up one at a time through the worst off it . I was brought up in that area and spent many times there . But they did take cattle up
Love to be lost in the valley with you. Love, blessings and only the best wishes for this new year, from Ontario Canada! Edit: Totally notice your much more pronounced accent when in company of your closest. Makes me want to open a beer and drink it! I love you!
I thought I was the only lunatic out camping that night. 17 hours of darkness. Temp down to about 3°C were I was just outside the town of Peterhead. We weren't a million miles apart.
Great scenery for some drone footage, mist, falls, mountains, valleys, maybe you and Jake could share a DJI Mini 2, for some added altitude footage, i realize that you pack a ton of charging and battery equipment already, but maybe just a quick fly-by and scout flight would add an Eagles perspective to your editing talents. Always fun to view....Cheers!🎈
Like your work, great content but plus one for not lighting fires, what you do sets an example for a lot of other guys out there, use your exposure wisely. Anyhow winge over, love your vids, just started watching the Cape Wrath Trail one, brilliant 😁
Looks amazing and your filming is getting much better (please get a Gimbal!) Ha. Also, lovely to see you have a boyfriend, hopefully this will stop all the overaged men commenting on your looks and just commenting on your actual videos. Happy new year and hope you and Jake enjoy years and years of an amazing relationship.
