You guys started off as we all did with tuning; passion for modifying your car without any formal mechanical knowledge and background. The difference is that you guys kept going, kept learning…you went where most of us drew the line of “not comfortable doing that myself”. Not only do you guys build your own motors now, you’re trailblazing a platform that’s been around since ‘99. This platform has been around and plateaued for a long time now but you guys are going where no one else would. Mad props and I’m really looking forward to seeing the records you’ll break. Cheers

Hi Stav! Just a small tip to make the crimps look even better. If you look at your first crimp in the video, try turning the crimp tool over so the concave side is against the split line in the terminal. The terminal will not try to spread, and the convex side indents into the solid (non split) side of the terminal. Just a thought. Love the location for the unit. Out of sight but still accessible. Great!

You'll need to program the oem pump to start first for 5 seconds or so to fill the surge tank before starting the auxiliary pumps.

Absolutely very easy to do. As they are using separate output and the ecu has a prime feature for the pumps.

As someone who has been running a setup like this for over a year. It takes my oem S3 pump 5-10 sec from car start to fill up my surge tank. An rs3 with a brushless oem pump will do this with the door open prime function. They’ll just have to turn on prime function on the primary surge tank pump to push fuel to the engine so that startup is flawless. In other words. Ain’t really a big concern.

1x Elixar 1380 brushless fuel pump is all you will ever need. These multiple pump setups are a time bomb waiting to happen.

Not familiar with the set up. But we run this exact set up without issue in our B5’s the issue with brushless controllers they also have overheating issues and 4x the price

Well when you say stock ecu. Are you referring to Rs3 specific? One way you can wire this into a stock ecu that’s limited is using hobb switches and having certain pressure kick on the additional pumps

@@MalakaMotorSports I have a mk7 R but would be curious if DS1/MEDV17 are capable of anything more refined as far as closed loop low pressure control.

@@nathangamber9230 they are running a return style vacuum reference system. So there’s no need for close loop low pressure. I have a surge tank setup as well with an regular fuel pressure regulator. I set the low pressure to 90 psi cause I have mpi. So as the math would have it. 43.5psi base pressure + 30-35 boost pressure. So the minimum low pressure I can run is 78.5psi. Setting to 90 give me 11.5psi of extra pressure meaning less duty on the mpi as they will piss fuel once they open.

For some reason after installing my single pump fst, my fuel gauge reads full but my tank is almost empty... I primed the first pump to fill the fst, fuel gsuge was reading right...and as soon as I primed the second pump by gauge read full but my actual fuel tank is almost empty... do you know how to fix that?
