Two good points you made: (1) When you're trying to select between 2 players of similar talents go with the guy who works the hardest, the one who has the least fear to do the hard ice minutes, and the one who has the strongest in-born drive to win all the time. I agree. With junior players so far removed in skill level from NHL players a scout has to be able to accurately project player development more often than not (or risk losing his job). If so, those 3 character traits help reassure a scout that the player he picks will likely keep developing and improving. (2) Robins has really high hockey IQ. He makes excellent decisions on ice quickly with high levels of anticipation and a good vision of the ice surface. All of this appears to come natural to him. This makes me more confident that when the game gets quicker (at the AHL and NHL levels) it won't faze him at all.
If you build a team full of strong players mentally with the winning mindset. Eventually it will add up. Those are the players that will elevate everyone around them (Leaders). Extremely valuable.
I cant get enough of the hidden gems. The competitiveness is so important. Combine that with some hands, vision, and that sneaky shot, and he's a guy I root for. Thanks again, for showing more of these guys. The wings have extra 2nd and 3rd round picks. I really hope we can build with some of these ballers.
His hands make him look like a mini version of his teammate from last year, Kirby Dach. He uses a long stick for a smaller guy and has tremendous hands. This video makes him seem like Oshie.
I think u are a french speaker so je voulais juste dire merci de partager tout ce contenus et tu fais une très belle job et j'espere que tu aura un emploie dans la LNH un jour.
Great video! Just found your videos on 2020 prospect analyses and I really enjoy the way you breakdown their game! I think a nice prospect to analyze for a hidden gem video would be Mitchell Miller based on what I've read about him. Keep up the great content!
Love your channel, Yanic. The best for scouting I've come across. When do you think you'll be putting together a video for your overall rankings? Would love to see it soon.
@@DraftDynasty1 I don't blame you, this guy is the real deal. Definitely sucks for the Habs, but I'll take it all day. We need as many promising prospects as possible.
Another great video! Merci c’était vraiment excellent! I heard about Robbins crushing it at the end of this year and now I can see examples of why with your video breakdown. He seems to have the puck on a string and as you say it is really encouraging to see him shoot, make plays and dangle at a high level. I am surprised the he as not garnered more attention. Any thoughts on why that is? His more discret first half? Or could it be something else in his game?
Hey man, so I have been watching all of your videos this year and I absolutely love them. Much of what you say makes more sense to me than a lot of what I hear elsewhere in terms of develop-ability of young players. Amazing reports, please keep up the good work! I have four questions for you... 1) You drew an interesting comparison between Robins here to Hendrix Lapierre in this video. With all the tools Lapierre has, how much of his decision-making (i.e., pass-shoot) is coachable in the late-junior/early-pro level? I mean, the guy is a unique talent and if he could only find that DIY ethic a little more often, I think Lapierre could be something special. 2) The little guys. Outside of Holloway and Schneider - not a lot of top prospects seem to play like big men this year. Do we have to completely revamp our notions with regard to potential size, strength and power for prospects going forward in your opinion? Is a previously passed-over prospect like Jack Ahcan more valuable now? 3) With guys like Mercer, Jarvis, Quinn and Perreault rising, Rodion Amirov seems to be falling. I'm usually skeptical of Russian prospects because they often don't come to North America, or when they do come, they often go back as soon as they hit RFA. Is Amirov becoming a value pick, or is he a typical Russian risk play? Lastly, 4) You haven't done a goalie yet and Askaraov is just sitting there as a potential top-10 pick. Just sayin' ;)
1) With Lapierre; the problem is mentally but his shot is also part of the problem. He's got a pretty weak shot. First step would be to improve his shot and him trusting is ability to shot. He's a very smart player, I think he might be able to find the right balance between shooting and passing.*Some player are so good at playmaking that it doesn't really matter if they don't shoot (Backstrom, Thornton, Henrik Sedin, Kuznetsov, etc.) Maybe if his playmaking take a next level his shot will simply be a bonus. 2) The good physical players are so rare now. I think we will see a big decline in physicality in the next couple of years. For Defenseman, size will always be important. Not just for the physical part but defensively, the long reach is very powerful. They are also more involve in 1vs1 battles in their zone. I'm still very hesitant to aim for smaller D unless they are reaaallly special. 3) Still trying to figure out Amirov. For now he's not in my first round. Will have to make a video on him in the future. 4) I don't like to evaluate goalies. I don't really know what to look at :P
I think this is a player the red wings brass like Steve yzerman and Kris draper love and could draft. Tons of skill and compete with nice hockey sense it seems. Seems almost like Tyler bertuzzi in that they can tip pucks well and have great offensive instincts.
Didn't really look at this player since many people were saying that his skating is average. It definitely looks above average and he has puck hunger that makes him look faster for sure. Maybe a good player comparison can be Vincent Trocheck? He definitely looks like a player that can sneak into the late 1st round and probably won't last past mid 2nd. There seems to be alot of interesting small forwards this year!
Hope Holland can get some picks at the draft probaly snag some second rounders if the oilers don't feel like having prospects or players so maybe the Oilers can snatch someone that has talent skills like Tristen Robins.
Would be surprised if Robins doesn't get snagged in the first two rounds. Immediate thought after watching was Brayden Point, minus the explosiveness in his skating, which you alluded to, as well. I hope the Rangers snag him.
Je suis en retard pour sur Wallinder je dois catchup.. le plateform de streaming me tilt pour la suede. So slow. Pour Robins il risque d'être très proche de la premiere round oui ;)
Hands? Check. Scores? Check. Playmaking/vision? Check. Competitive? Check. Skating? Check. IQ? Check. Why is this guy not a first rounder? Also, he kinda reminds me of Jarvis. I thought that was the comparison you were going to make before you said Bourque.
@@DraftDynasty1 They just look really similar to me, stylistically. Is it just top end speed that differentiates them? Robbins seems to have a pretty quick first couple steps in the videos you've shown.
J espère que le 26 le top 3 will be 1 Ottawa 2 redwing or king 3 Ottawa et rest les 4 autre équipe éliminer comme ça ont va savoir qui la repêcher top 7 pas equipe abcd.._.
