Welcome to Holtonsfixit101. Today I'm talking about the Triton TPT125 Thicknesser. Back in 2019 I went to Screwfixlive at Farnborough, looking around the stands as you do I got tot the Triton stand and sitting on the stand was the thicknesser like you see in the video. I wanted a new Thicknesser but I wasn't going out my way to look for one as I thought it was not that high up the priority list. But as it was sitting there it was what the heck let have a look. So long story short I have one but since having it I'm quite impressed with it. It doesn't come without some little niggles like the dust exaction and the power cord not being long enough.
The power cord was easy to sort but the dust exaction was another matter. I went with a similar design to the original plastic hood thing that Triton provided but on a larger scale and one that would fit my 100mm hose from my dust exactor. I also wanted the exaction hood to fit better on the thicknesser than Triton's design. With that in mind mine is bolted on to the back of the thicknesser by six M6 nuts and bolts and it holds on with no movement what so ever.
After all of that was done it was building a movable cart for it and as you see from the video a cart with three drawers is what I came up with but the bottom drawer is a half drawer meaning it's not the full depth of the drawer front, this is to accommodate the lump of concrete that sitting in the bottom or the cart would be top heavy with the thicknesser sitting on the top.
All in all I think this turned out pretty well, now after using this thicknesser for a good few months now I cant be more than please with it, I would like to fit it with one of those shelix cutting blocks though.
