And that boys and girls is how you do rock and roll, real voices Real playing of instruments no Auto-Tune or Studio tricks. This music is gone forever. Nothing can top the 80s for rock and roll.
@@gregcushing1716 saw him a few years before he died coming out of a store downtown Toronto, as a huge fan of his work I just gave him his peace and mentally logged the moment.
Definitely one of the most underrated bands out there because they could actually pull their music ,vocals and harmonies off live when a lot of the bands back then and still today could not and cannot on this level .
@@CP-kb1du bite me I don’t recall rattling your cage and I don’t give a fuck about your opinion so FO. You have no idea what the flag means just what the liberal left-wing media has taught you I was commenting on a video so STFU other than that I don’t have a damn thing else to say to you boy🤣🤣🤣
@@jasont9907 I absolutely agree sir .They were the best band there that day they could musically back up their music and their vocals and their background vocals like nobody else especially that day they deserve more credit than a lot of the other bands for sure. I always liked them but I respect the hell out of them because they could do it live.👍
Phil Collins pretty good too....lol. And my personal favorite - Nick D'Virgilio - who did the same as Phil - came from behind the drum kit to be lead singer for Spock's Beard.
Man, Gil sounds so good on this track. You don't find many bands with two killer lead vocalists… Especially from a three-piece band! Saw them play live only once in 1979. Best show ever!
Irony for me is back in the day I was full-blown Rik fan, years later I really appreciate and respect the BRILLIANCE of Gil. Unique vocals and shit, look how EFFORTLESS he is as a drummer, never a beat or note wrong. One of the best, underrated bands not just of the 80s, but of all of the rock era.
I wish rock music would come full circle back to 3,4,and 5 piece rock bands like this. Today we have mostly individual singers, rappers, and electronic dj's and such. Need more BANDS. Real talented BANDS. Rock bands would rule if they ever could get any airtime again. Ahhhh....I'm dreaming. Long live rock.....
You know Darling, in this day and age, those messages seem more meaningful than ever. I heard all my life, that Rock would NEVER DIE, and I continue to hope that this remains true. My Old School/Vintage Best. Out.
To me , this was one of the most powerful influential songs that ever came out of the 80s. It had and still has a very powerful effect on me and probably always will. It brings me back to those days where we were all young and care free.
Well, here I am at 45 yoa. Thank God above for RU-vid. It is like a time machine. I grew up listening to Triumph, Journey, Toto, Foreigner, Uncle Ted and many other great bands of the 70's and 80's. Along with Steve Smith, Phil Collins and Jeff Pocaro, Gil, you were a major influence on me picking up the drums. I sing and play and watching you and Phil is a treat. When I was a teen, I saved every penny to purchase a Vistalite kit trying to replicate yours. Cheers and keep rocking.
Music touches us all one way or another, but I think whoever listens to this takes you back to the same place, a place we all go when we hear the first beat of their drum or strum of the guitar , nothing but magic, 3 unbelievable guys creating magic, ladies & gents a huge round of applause for Rik,Gil & Mike
I remember this concert very well because I was there. I was also at TRIUMPH'S 1st show at the Metro Center when they only sold about 500 tickets. Yet they came out and played for us anyway. "We came here to put on a show for our fans so, let's ROCK Halifax" or something like that was said. It took 7 years and, Much Music, for them to return back too Halifax but, was it ever worth the wait. They finally hooked up with the RIGHT Promoters and it couldn`t fail. Like KISS, TRIUMPH knows how to put on a LIVE SHOW!!!

TRIUMPH is a band from a time when RUSH was that "other Canadian band". To me that is still true and I am not knocking Rush. TRIUMPH is "officially" the fathers of progressive rock. I had my nephew wear a Triumph THUNDER SEVEN tshirt I had to ProgpowerUSA one year where I was working backstage management stuff.... and he was the star of the freakin event. Of course I coupled that shirt with a Night Ranger DAWN PATROL shirt the night before. Crimson Glory was featured there that year and Nocturnal Rites and both those bands basically sponsored my nephew the whole week. I guess when I made him wear that shirt... I FOLLOWED MY HEART.
All I can say to that comment is that its a SIGN OF THE GYPSY QUEEN! I also am huge fan of HONEYMOON SUITE and not to forget Loverboy. A few great bands were home grown up north. YAY.
Man I love triumph I just never understood ricks angry I watch him in Chicago solo acoustic sessions it was great I met the man and ask him it was a kool time he a great guitarist
Great song and concert amd memories. I was at this concert, and I think that might be my silhouette rockin' out at 3:50. I recall the filming, the cameraman next to us at this location in the Metro Centre, and my mullet and rolled up sleeves on my jean jacket. I got a copy of the whole concert when it came out at the time. Great memories.
@danielhall65 Ah yes you’ve nailed it Daniel- Farrah was cool but somehow we all looked like goofballs in the 80’s !! next time we’ll channel GaGa - Gil
Man I love this song The Memories it brings back. I live about an hour and 45 minutes from Halifax and saw them in my hometown m o n c t o n 3 or no three times man every show was amazing. Although in this video there was a second guitarist who's that guy?
All those 80's chicks in their mini skirts in Halifax........oh to be young again........then again my wife can still pull off her '80's mini skirt..........
Your heart will never lie to you. Trust me, I know. Please people stop taking advice from anyone. Just follow your heart. Remember the mind can not live without the heart, but the heart can stand on its own. So I ask you which one are you going to follow.
Attention triumph fans! Triumph has just announced they will be releasing a dvd/cd combo of the sweden rockfest they played 4 years ago that was meant to precede the full scale world tour that up until now, we have been denied. Lets hope this approaching release will finally show the band that the fans are not ready for them to go away forever just yet. When it comes out, get out there and buy yourself a copy and hopefully we will see Triumph take to the road one more time. FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT!
