Triumph was so underrated!!! One of the Best Bands ever!!! Ain't no bands like this today !!! We need to go back to the 80s and do this again please!!!
Im 53 now and saw Triumph 4 times back on the Thunder 7 and Sport Kings Tours 1985 and 1987. It is one of the best concerts I ever saw a awesome band I thank my cousin Leon for introducing me to there music . He isn't doing well with his health these days have so many great memories from there great shows . Probably the most underrated band of all time . Triumph is Awesome!
James ,I'm 59😀I saw TRIUMPH 4 times . The 1st time was 40 years ago tonight😀😀😀Foghat opened up😀 They 're awesome for sure 😀😀😀 I've always loved them😀😀😀
i had kind of forgotten, or maybe taken for granted, just what a great guitarist rik emmett is. and with the beautiful singing voice he is extra special.
Man,I miss the 80's when life was worry free and so much fun! We had cool music and big hair, bad ass cars and house parties everywhere ,every weekend! I live in Az,so we had big lifted trucks and desert party's,so much cool stuff to do like cruising and drive-ins:)
Try a looksee around the jamband music scene. imo it's been a great scene for decades. Big Something and Goose are rocking the 'Rock' scene pretty well these days. Agreed on Triumph being all those things. :-)
I was at the Lakeland civic center , Fl thunder seven tour . and they blew the roof off , when they started playing follow your heart the place exploded , best lazer and light show l have seen
Growing up in the 80's I was able to see a majority of the top Rock bands in their prime, I went to see Triumph during their Thunder Seven Tour. It was absolutely one of the top 5 shows I've seen in my day.
When my youngest was 16 or so, on Saturday mornings when he was sleeping late, I would get the keys to his 93 Mustang and drive it around listening to the Triumph GH CD of mine he had in the player..... love this band.

What happened to the Real Rock Bands? Triumph Rocks! Every song has energy and enthusiasm Entertainment at its Best I saw the Thunder 7 Tour n Houston and was blown away Wish these guys still played n 2023
I'm 56 almost 57..this takes me back to an era of music ,I will treasure..RIK/ RICK.. I LOVE YOUR VOICE AND YOUR DIMPLES!!!..Very underrated guitarist...he is phenomenal!!!!❤❤❤❤😎😎
I was born in 1977 & grew up on a lot of great Canadian rock bands such as Triumph,April Wine,Rush,I Mother Earth,The Tea Party,54-40,Our Lady Peace,Thundermug,Big Sugar,Big Sugar,Wide Mouth Mason,Moist,Northern Pikes,Killjoys,Lee Aaron,Sacrifice,Exciter, Razor,Quo Vadis,Anvil,Killer Dwarfs,Etc
Sandra Page you are correct. CRIMINALLY underrated. A lot of guys with classical training were. He wasn’t a standard “shredder” but imo he could play circles around pretty much anyone in that period. His phrasing and sense of melody was incredible
I’m 17 now and truly wish I could’ve been my age then in 1987... To see bands live like Rush, Triumph, Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, etc in their prime. So many great concerts throughout the 80’s I feel I truly missed out on. I can just picture myself going out with some buds to so many shows then... gotta try to make the most of today I guess but it’s very tough to when no one my age I know shares the same passion in older music.
My son is 25. His favorite band is Boston, he’s seen them twice. I was blessed enough to see everyone from Aerosmith to Zeppelin. The three times I saw Triumph was the three best concerts I ever saw. Lots of bands still touring: Kansas, Foghat, Firehouse, REO Speedwagon, Styx, .38 Special, Def Leperd, Tesla. Even Rick Emmitt tours and foes dinner theater type shows. But I wouldn’t wait too long😊
At the tender young age 67 men I can say the feeling from the Triumph concert’s draw on me and make me draw on ! Yes I am 67 and still fighting the good fight !
I'm generally amazed with drummers anyway. They have to have multitrack brains and physical stamina to play their kits for hours. But when a drummer also sings, it just takes them to a whole new level. Gil Moore is as big a talent as any other singer/drummer you can name. But few know about him. Fantastic version of Lay It On The Line! Mellow introduction, a little slower and bluesier than the original version that everybody has heard. Great job of reimagining their own song. In case it ever comes up on Jeopardy, the name of the occasional 4th member of Triumph was Rick Santers.
Thanks for the 2nd guitarists info. Was wondering who he is. Dude was killing the vocals. He really gave the backing vocals a big-time boost. Impressed!!!!!!
I love love love Triumph best band for me I seen them in concert several times then and when they split Rik is the best I met him several times backstage . Best memories of my teens and 20s. I played them on my record player vinyl 45s and 33s. They were the best live band I ever saw and I saw several the who , kansas, etc.....hundreds hundreds
That is how you do a live show! Great music, great vocals, great stage show. Doesn't get much better than that. The 80s were the best times to see bands live.
@@daktarioskarvannederhosen2568 My original point is in plain english and very concise. It is not some riddle that needs to be solved by a team of codebreakers.
I’ve seen hundreds of live concerts since my first show in 1976. Triumph was always one of my favorites to see. They played for the fans, not just at them.
i was there too! i was in grade 9 at Caledonia Jr High - my older brother's buddy got sick & i got his ticket. The first concert of my life - ive been a fan ever since. Still living in Dartmouth!
frank oakley Up there with Eddie at the time. Superb master of both acoustic and electric guitar. Saw him live in 1987. This tour one day apart in Moncton, NB. Three hours from Halifax where this was filmed.
I was in Halifax that night after the concert was finished they shot a music video for the song "Just One Night " it never became the official video though .
All the great bands of the 70's and 80's, let us never forget how Epic Triumph was in their day! Rik Emmett oh so talented! The band as a whole Most Excellent!
In those days I was a r&r lighting contractor. They had a 1000 lights and pyros I had hundreds, smoke bomb, dry ice fog, concussion bombs and fire can. I followed these guys to prefect what I was doing....hell of a light show. Thanks Rik, Gil and Mike
If you happen to check this post again, I totally agree with you. I've seen Rik Emmett by himself a few times in the last 10 years before he retired. He was doing acoustic shows in some small venues, and he sounded fantastic.
Triumph seriously Rocks! The vocals this band puts out are amazing. Their musicality and skill is on another level. I love Rush too but I absolutely love Triumph. Let’s not forget April Wine as another great Canadian Band, not a Power Trio but definitely a great band born from my Northern Brothers.
I seen them in 1977 at our high school. They had just released Rock and Roll machine. Great concert and been a fan ever since. We were seated second row center!
I saw this tour in Philadelphia. They were visually more advanced than there counter parts. Damn I'd like the opportunity to see them again !!!!!! Totally under rated band !!!!
I grew up at that time, and TRIUMPH AND APRIL WINE, were the two biggest draws in North America. I remember vividly the talk on how TRIUMPH'S shows had the biggest and best light and fireworks show for any concert other than KISS. I have a few of their original albums on Vinyl from that era as well as April Wine.
Dante YOU ARE SOOO RIGHT ...your bringing a tear to my eye...I will ALWAYS TREASURE those days ...all the Bands ..all the GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS...I need a time machine ... peace everyone :)
I had forgotten how good Santers was. He was a legend in Toronto (Gasworks and the like). Playing solid Rhythm Guitar is an underrated skill. The was he locks in with Bass and Drums while playing under Rio's guitar parts... he was the best.
When "Allied Forces" came out, I was a member of the Allied Forces stationed in West Berlin, Germany, surrounded by the Berlin Wall. We used to play the title song LOUD for Ivan across the wall.
We did lay it on the line in a high school talent show...air guitared it...won 1st prize over people that actually played instruments...felt bad... lol 😂😂😂 love you Cement!
Somewhere in the the 80's I was given the opportunity to see Triumph (and Foghat) live in Detroit by my friends Doug and Kevin, I had no idea what I was walking into....one of the greatest concert experiences in my life time. I will always remember that experience, Thanks Guys!!!!!
Saw them at the Spectrum in Philly on this tour. Hate to admit it now but we may have been under the influences of a certain "psychedelic" drug at the time and let's just say the sound and light show were even that much more intense!! Oh the 80's....
Oh man I miss these days with the big moving rock shows. Very cool intro. Sadly my kids will never experience stuff like this as these types of rock bands just dont exist anymore. Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks for sharing this! I was introduced to Triumph in 1984 by a classmate. Unfortunately never got to see them. When I tossed out my cassettes cause I don't use them anymore I saved my Thunder Seven album and some bootleg stuff that was it!
My brother and I were at this show. This was my first concert... I am watching this now and blown away by how good they are. Awesome. Thanks for uploading it.
One of the best, if not the best live bands i ever had the privilege of seeing live. I caught a leg of this tour at Glens Falls civic center in upstate ny. Thank you for sharing this! Very few full concert recordings of these guys!
.....I was at this show....17 years old and rock'in hard......5th row to the stage.....I have a copy of this on DVD now....brings back wicked memories....
Edward MacDonald , i was there also ... but i was 25 ... seen alot of big concerts and this one was one of my favs . ... awesome lazer light show ! only stage show as good was Iron Maiden . ..... Born just the right time to have been able to see all these bands in their prime , the 80's was the decade of music .... nothing like it since then !!
