It sure as hell was man we ran the roads as kids and when I hit 15 the nwobhm was in full swing !!! 🤟🤟🤟 and one of the pace cars was judas frkkn priest !!!!
Heard this song for the first time when I was in the U.S. Navy. My ship was floating off Beirut in December 1982 when this video was played over the ship's CCTV system. "Magic Power" gave me a much-needed lift to my spirits and has been a part of my music collection ever since. Thanks for posting.
Amazing how that works! I was stationed on a sub tender in Kings Bay, GA (1979) and rock radio stations would come over the 1MC, until the Captain didn't like it. Then, it was either back to boring radio stations or silence. Love Triumph! Still play this song in my band, Retro Rockits.
Maybe they were 2nd fiddle to the RUSH trio, but nontheless Triumph in San Fernando Valley in the 80's was blasted on KLOS all the time, and on my cassette recorder too!
"That was Triumphs new hit song "Magic Power. And I'm your host Jim Ladd as 95.5 KLOS Rocks Southern California" !! Yeah....I was there too man. The glory dayz.
Positive Message Songs SURE have a SOLID Place in Today's Fragmented World. Agree with your supportive Sentiments. TRIUMPH has some SERIOUS Fans; Well-Deserving, Too! 😂
doesn’t it still , even more at the age of 53. Man, the World was so much better back in those simpler times, and so much worse as well. A paradox, but we still got the magic power of music that, they can’t take away.
Awesome song!!! And cool video. I've always loved it. You can't help but feel better when you hear it. This is what I call real rock 'n roll. My life would probably not be the same today if it wasn't for this song. Definitely a favorite song of mine.
0:24 - I don't actually believe there was ever an "official video" of the song where the band's name is listed as "TRIMPH" on-screen as it is here at 0:24.
I was 14 when I first heard this song and fell in love with Rik Emmet and Triumph ❤️ I had the little transistor radio and dreamed of being that girl in the video lol. Now I am 57 and laying in bed with my little iPhone watching the video, so many memories come rushing back to me. When I was 16, I started dating my future husband. He was a strawberry blond guitar player just like Rik ❤☺️
Being 2nd fiddle to RUSH what you gonna do, but Triumph in San Fernando Valley in the 80's was blasted on KLOS all the time, and on my cassette recorder too!
Versatile guitar player, fantastic vocalist, great songwriter and most importantly, appears to be a kind human. My way to follow from tenderness to passion... My greatest rock music influence who even forced me to pick up my own electric guitar to resonate with him! How I want to learn your hooks, riffs and chords! Your unforgettable double neck guitar brings only good memories:... Please dry my tears and make me to believe in a dream to meet someone special and to spread wings and to fly! Thanks a lot, my dear Rik! You are amazing! It's the magic power... I mean everything that happens in my life!
Have NO Recollection of this Video but LOVE the Song and Many of TRIUMPH's Tuneage... Such INCREDIBLE Songs that Positively REACHED so SO Many aspiring Singer Songwriters. Thank You RIK, GIL and MIKE for many Many Years enjoying your Music to my Life's Soundtrack. Most Appreciated and Thanks for Sharing THIS video, too!!! ❤
I remember seeing this in the '80s. Not a very good video after you've seen these guys in concert but it's trying and it is the best song I can think of that makes me think of my childhood teenage years just like the song talks about
