Note: For some reason the video freezes for about 20 seconds from 17:50. This is the 2nd time this is happening. Will check and find the cause and do my best to ensure that this does not happen again. Pardon this glitch. Cheers!
if the raw footage for those 20 seconds is fine then i think the problem is with the video editor or the youtube compression algorithm. If the exported final video os good then it should mostly be the youtube compression thing.
Earlier I was 90% sure, that am gonna buy this machine…. & after 24mins of watching this, now am 400(x)% sure that this is what I needed my bike to be. Thank you for this review.
Your introduction is the biggest unspoken truth in motorcycling. Coming back to motorcycling, over 2.5 seasons of factory test rides allowed me to see what I like, what I don’t like, and in my case, sitting on a scram 411 in a showroom, I dismissed it as not comfortable. I had 30 mins to kill before going to a BMW ride. An RE Scram 411 was available, so I took it out. It put such a smile on my face, and supremely comfortable for 3hr rides. I was sold on the spot. Keep on spreading the truth! People need to ride the bikes for themselves!
There are two types of Reviewers/Channels that make sense and entertain, you guys and Motirinc. Everyone else seems useless almost. You guys are Very different but equally effective. Why we like more is that You make us understand the vehicle in such a simple manner that there's nothing else left. Very relatable content. Thank you
What a review! 24 minutes and it never felt like a review...just two passionate people having a fun convo over a bike they like, laughing their heart out! Such positive vibes...loved it, BBC :) This...This is my bike , I'm sure. Looking forward to get this one day
I gave a crack at both 400x & Himalayan on the same day. both ticked different boxs, felt the weight on Himalayan the moment I took it off the stand. Was in a dilemma, the next day I closed my eye to realise my tongue was out like dog but when I was on 400x. Booked the scrambler 400x. Waiting for the delivery.
I booked himalayan 450 & took trst ride & then took test rode of Trium scram 400x ... OMG sach trium was bestum , wheathers its tje feel or tje quality used in trium. Now i m goona goi t to cancel himalayan n wanna buy Scram trium
I am a 52 years old beginner looking for my first motorcycle (I am 1,82cm high with 110kg weight). Question : Triumph scram 400x or RE Himalayan 450 !? Will do 70% commuting (work etc..) and 30% light touring. Thanx a lot and you have best vlogs and reviews!!! Cheers :)
Any day this is a better motorcycle than it's own sibling speed 400. Even for everyday city commuting, no off-road, no touring, only office going machine (for which the speed is made of) the 400x shines. Triumph's & Bajaj's collaboration gives us one of the finest and best motorcycle of this segment and more importantly made the market competitive 😁
Your enthu. is contagious, one more ex. of "age doesn't matter". u ppl r inspiring, i guess 350-400cc are perfect for Indian conditions (40hp-40nm), i have big bike, fast and mile muncher but not practical in the city, these 350-400cc bikes are all-rounders, a twin 400cc scrambler/tourer will be great addition to the Indian market.
Handling and heavyness(too much) are the things that we suffer from RE bikes on a whole .. This bike fixes these 2 major issues making Triumph togo bike for City commute👍
साहेब I'm planning to go for old Himalayan 411 (not scram not 450) may be because of first sight love. Not using for adventure tour or Off road, will be using for regular use, for office. Some time I go for trekking, so it is helpful. What is ur suggestion? Ur thoughts pls 🙏
I have been confused what to buy for last one months, booked Scrambler 400x long back but never went to take the TD, himalayan 450 is never available for TD at most of the RE centres, Took TD for Scrambler, felt good ,No initial stalling great Exhaust Note, good punch, but size felt bit small, then went to look for KTM Adventure 390X( big fan till I rode) , delear arranged a customer bike for TD almost 2000 kms done 1st servicing done, still it stalled in 1st gear 2 times, the vibrations so much the console vibrates everytime you start the same
I bought this bike on an impulse. Have risen it about 1100kms on twisties. Absolutely love the stance which lends into the overall handling of the bike. For someone who is wanting to get back on a bike after about 18 years, it’s not intimidating and just too much fun. Can’t wait for all the adventures that await. Love your reviews guys. Very entertaining and informative.
This is the best. I tried himalayan 450, scrambler 400x and my dominar 250. The scrambler is powerful, smooth, great seating and tireless riding experience. Dominarc250 is second and 450 comes last. Best singles are 400x and CB300r.
Flabbergasted on your review Sir. Spoke absolutely what I am feeling everyday riding my scrambler❤. On another note, yesterday I got a news that Triumph is planning a backrest and centre stand for Scrambler 400x. I hope it gets launched soon. I was in a need of backrest and hence purchased and assembled it, and later got the news. I purchased the one which sits on the OEM handlebars and hence we do not sacrifice the pretty grab handles. Hope the news will help others, so they can wait a couple of months and get the accessories, if at all the news is true.
Thanks fellahs! Great bit of extra confirmation bias. Definitely at the top of my current wish list. I am a Londoner, who only goes for short rides these days, either across the busy city, or a day’s jaunt to the nearby countryside. I am 6’4” tall, but at 72 years old, I am done with big heavy bikes now. This looks just the ticket for me, (shame about the gold forks though, spoils the retro look a bit IMO).
I am planning for touring will this be a good bike. I need both torque and speed in balance. Touring will be mostly on highway but will take it to ladakh once as well. Top most priority touring comfort. My height is 5.11
I like the look & finishing of the Triumph Speed 400 more than the Scrambler 400x & the avaliable color option of Speed 400 as well, but at the same time the Speed 400 feels just little bit compact and the Scrambler seat height is too much high. (My preferably seat height is 805 to max 820 mm & My height is exactly 5 feet 75 inch) & My Traveling areas Consist Of 75% City/NH, 25% Village Road with potholes). I have no problem in spending some extra bucks to get the modifications I want. How can I modified Triumph speed 400 to Scrambler 400x without compromising riding quality ? Or is it a waste of money and foolish to even think about doing so ? I mean I am thinking about to replace Triumph Speed's only front travel suspension or may be both front & Rear (5.9 inches in the front & 5.5 inches or 5.9 inches in the rear), Steel handel bar (901 mm), front Sprocket (14 tooth) & front Wheels (19 Inches) with Scrambler 400x. What will you suggest in this case ? Is such modification possible, if yes, will it affect the riding experience and handling posture or will it cause any other problems in long run ?
Thank you for the review. I too own a Scrambler 400X, and have done my first 1,000 Km on it now. I love it. One thing I noticed though, is that at low speeds - anything below 40 Km/hr - the motorcycle exhibits some jerkiness. It doesn't matter which gear I am on. And this happens on perfectly flat, smooth road surfaces while keeping a steady throttle. It does not go smoothly, but rather continuous back-and-forth jerking, and the slower you go, the more noticeable it is. Is this normal? I am looking for feedback from people who own the bike. Is this a normal single-cylinder behavior, or is there something wrong with my bike? Thank you.
Hi @Bigbearbangalore - satisfying to see the feedback on my choices are good!. As after a long wait of searching a mid range segment bikes. With a lot of choices / watching reviews / multiple test rides for more than a 3 years noe. I finally choose a Triumph scrambler 400X and waiting for the delivery of the same. I will wait for more videos on accessories, safety, & riding gears. My previous options were BMW310gs, Himalayan 450, 390 Adventure & many more etc., 🙄
Hi, Boski (hope u don't mind calling) myself 66 yrs having Himalayan BS IV from 2019, rode to Ladakh with wife in 2022 Sept. from Kolkata tthinking to change to Scrambler what's your opinion, i really value your advice, waiting for your experience comments.
Hi. Well done. Moving from the 411 to 400x, you may find the motorcycle too compact. Test ride to know more. However it's a nice compact fun motorcycle. Good for commuting and short rides.
Sir, Can you suggest some good luggage options (soft panniers and saddle bags) that would be suitable for this bike. I am searching and not able to find anything that is very attractive. Particularly, after seeing your quick release saddle bags on the Him450, I am trying to find similar ones for the 400X ...thanks in advance
Hello I thinking to buy this bike ,why did you say it's a bad on road bike? Are the vibrations that bad at say 100-120 or can we cruise comfortabley? How is the vibrations @100 120 or 140 can you please elaborate. Thank you
Buy it! It's a great machine. On open highways at speeds above 110 kmph, the wind blast gets quite strong. That's the design of the motorcycle and not a defect. While it is possible to use this on the highway, we find it a bit tiring on long open stretches.
Genuinely speaking, except you only I think Sunmi's video about motorcycles makes some sense...though he talks so much about KTM 390, nevertheless. But you are at next level.
Sir I’m grateful for this review you have provided. I have been looking for a machine which does it all, look outs were Honda CB300r, Duke 250, RE Himalayan 452 & 400x. My technical search ends today after seeing your review. My next step is to ride all of the above. Based on what I have learnt so far I’m pretty sure I will end up buying the 400x !! Thank you so much again.
Just bought this bike today-my first major purchase! Your videos have been incredibly helpful throughout my decision-making process. I've been following your content for a few months now, and your reviews stand out as some of the most genuine. Thanks so much for all the great advice!
a lot of people on internet say they face stalling issues, are there any ? if yes, how bad? highways, city, off roading 40/40/20 is my use case split would you recommend this? how about husq 401? thank you :)
The stalling has been addressed. I had it and after the software update, resolved. The 401 is a morr stylish and unique machine. I love how it looks and feels. And I like the 400X suspension better.
According to my understanding you being politically correct is, triumph is better then hima, because of unavailability i went for speed 400 but im going for x for sure 🙏
Odometer pe dekhna kya hai ..😂... Except the petrol indicator in it rest I am having a huge smile and freshness in my soul and glitter in my eyes .....
Sir im highly confused, even though i know comparing himalaya n 450 and x400 is senseless, pls pls get me out of this mental commotion im Stuck in, which one to pick, just guve me a one word ans, pls pls, scrolling for hours in utube and finally met one fantabulous channel to ask my ques, so pls help me pick sir.
I have been triumph owner for 40+ years. Now three years not! Seeing this bike I just realiced, must have one probably my last one. Right now waiting for delivery in april. I don't care about every detail in handling or performance, it's just so beautiful. Lookin forwad to this summer and all that follows.
I want to buy this bike. I am hesitant to buy as you had mentioned one con: engine stalling in another video. Should i wait for this to be fixed? When Should I buy this bike? Second lot ?
Good video, enjoyed it.. You being so technically sound, which I really admire, I would like to request you to make a video that explains how the torque and power is available in different bikes at different rpms..every bike specs let us know about 40ps @certain_rpm for example, but is it available from get go, or certain rpms or 20% of that nm and ps is available at 2000 rpms and then 40ps at certain_rpm etc. All of these things matter a lot while choosing a bike, and many people only fall for the top numbers, not many reviewers talk about these power deliveries at different rpms because they themselves do not know, they are only beauty-queen-reviewers, hope this comment will get some consideration :), thank you, keep on making amazing videos with different flavours..!!
@BOSKY I seriously want your golden advice to deal with body ache. I am 5 foot 3 inches tall 49 kg weight and own Pulsar 150 split seat twin disc variant which is 148 kgs. I dreamt to own a pulsar as a school kid because I have no explanation. This was my first love. Now I am feel difficult to rotate its handle also. But I am mangaing. It comes with the inevitable straining on body. How can a person of my personality handle smoothly Pulsar kind of bike for a long term. I don't want to change my bike.
That was a great conversation. I too have the scrambler. I agree with all the points. But the braking for me is not very confidence inspiring. I mostly ride in the city and occasionally on highways, what's your take on replacing the brake pads with the speed's? Speed's braking was more to my liking and I don't see myself off-roading too often.
