Here is Part 2 of my series on replacing the foam and vinyl covering of the driver's side seat for a Triumph Spitfire. These are the low back seats that were fitted to the Mk2 (1964-67) and early Mk3 (1967-70) Spitfires. All in all, it took me about 8 hours, but there were many dry fits and a few re-dos.

They look good. After you sit in them for a few hundred miles they will look even better.

I love the white piping, it's going to look fantastic with the SPI red!! I had no idea that would be such a PITA, glad you did it first, lol

Where did you order this kit from? I have the exact same seats in my Mk3. Moss motors?

No, I got it from Spitbits, but it's a kit from Newton Commercial in the UK. Great stuff. From what I've been to figure, they supply most of the kits to the big resellers. You can buy from them direct, I believe. And if you have a doubt, I would because it's high quality stuff.

Man that sure looks like a frustrating job but I think you did a nice job with it big me question if I want to do it myself or send them out. I don’t suppose you have an extra set of Sliders do you?

No, I don't. Rimmer's sells the runners, but the the slides, which is probably what you really want. It wasn't horrible, but I'm blaming that a bit on the finish of the seat cover. It was probably me, but I think it may have also just been a bad design. You'd think they would have improved it if that was the case...maybe they did with the updated stuff I mentioned. I'd do it again, but it's only because I wanted to do it. If I ever do another car, I'll probably send the seats out.
