We live & learn, I remember replacing seals on a TR7's front calipers back in the 80's and I can't for life of me remember such a hardship, maybe it was the norm back then :) Thanks for sharing Henry.
Had the same fight some time ago with my spitfire Calipers. I got the pistons out by mounting a grease nipple where the brake pipe is installed. I then pressed the pistons out with a grease gun. A bit messy with the grease but there's a lot of power in a greasegun.
