We are having a nice cool winter without freezes so far here in central florida. Sapodilla are pretty tolerant of the cold. I had one survive with no damage at 25* a few years ago. Your soursop looks remarkably well for having temps in the 30's. Your Atemoyas look good this far into winter. Hope we all avoid the freezes.

Good to hear Sapodillas can take that much cold! I’m hoping I no longer need to cold protect them. If the Soursop can push through the winter I’ll probably put it in the ground. Happy gardening out there in Florida!

I had an awesome soursop tree in Miami. Every winter it would lose its leaves completely and flower with new leaves in late winter and I would get 8-10 fruits for a 5 year old tree

@Garden of Luma have you planted any of your mango trees in the ground? If not, any plans to? I'm in SE Chandler, so a colder part of the Phx metro area (similar to your location). The closest weather station to me was down to 31 a couple different times. The coldest part of my yard down to 29/30. My Mango trees and subtropicals (all in pots other than the Barbados cherry) are grouped together under frost cloth against the south facing side of my house. The coldest under the structure has been 36/37 Very little issues so far.

Yes I have 3 mango trees planted in the ground and one ive kept in a container

@@gardenofluma9697 How have the in-ground done versus the container? What part of your yard did you plant?

@@paulticen6787 I have one that was a seedling that’s been far more vigorous then any of my grafted. It’s probably around 10ft with regular pruning. I haven’t seen much difference with the container vs in ground. They’re all around 5ft and most were purchased in 2016 as 3gal trees. I did a video on why I’d never buy a 3gal mango for our area. It’s better to buy a larger size. South facing.
