If you have trouble standing from a chair or standing upright to walk, this simple technique will help you. Learn the reasons why standing up from a chair can become difficult with age, injury, or illness. It is not all weakness or stiffness. It is important to understand how to coordinate the muscles to get up properly and straighten the posture before walking. The technique I am going to show will also help you walk better, with lower impact on your heels and your knees to reduce pain. You can get up using less muscle force if you know how. This technique will help improve posture, reduce anterior pelvic tilt, and reduce back pain caused by poor posture. You will be able to achieve better balance and fluidity after you watch this video.

Sitting back down involves a different rotation and hip flexion. I would check out a previous video I did on how to sit and stand from a chair. You can search for it on the channel.

Hi there todd martin hope your doing well sir. So just wanted to get your point on how the core works alongside the spinal rotation. So if the lowest torso rotates forward and up the upper torso moves down and back on the opposite side how does the tingeing effect the next step meaning correct me if I’m wrong but is the spinal rotation like a lever going up and down and both sides that fluidly exchanges every step we take

I am not sure of your reference point. Are you talking about taking a step from a standing position? For a normal step, I describe the lower torso (controlled by the lower abs) rotating back on the side of the standing leg and the upper torso (controlled by the upper abs) rotating forward on the side of the standing leg. The up and down elements are cancelled out since the upper abs have a downward pull on the spine and the upper abs have an upward pull on the lower part of the spine. Both upper abs and lower abs and hip muscles are acting as levers, coordinating to take fluid steps. I hope that answers the question.

Absolutely. Once you have one foot up and planted while you are on your knees, it is the same thing.
