If your stapler won’t move staples forward/won’t staple but has staples and doesn’t appear jammed in the front, try opening up both sides and pushing your sturdiest row of staples in through the back. Just had an avalanche of individual staples fall out the front from doing this; they were jammed in the middle of the feed and the spring wasn’t strong enough to push them out.

Good luck 🍀 with this stapler. It works but you get what you pay for here. My problem was incorrect staple size. Make sure you have staples to match your paper stack width. It puts 2 staples in otherwise, one upside down and one right side up.

the lever to remove a jam is stuck & will not budge

The lever to push down and open the jam compartment has a gray rubber covering on mine and the metal of the whole lever just bends down when applying a lot of force… it will never open. 😢

The plunger part under the handle that pushes the staple down is stuck down, any ideas ?

I just found your video and it helped me tremendously. I noticed that one of the reasons the stapler at work was stuck is because it has the wrong stapler size. If you are still out there; could you tell me the correct size to order? it is an old one so I am sure the box that in came in has been long thrown out. if you have it nearly full to capacity with staples and open the front end they shoot like a cannon... very dangerous imho

I have a swingline 900xd but the staples don't go all the way to the front so the part that pushes them down doesn't touch them...any tips to fix this?

I have the correct staples and they don't go all the way down the channel. I put just a small amount, but it doesn't staple.

I bought mine second hand. I just noticed I have a row of staples loose and stuck in the channel. Is there a way to open the top to get them out? They will not just fall out of the back area on their own. I am having a hard time reaching them to wiggle out.

What if the back holder that pushes the staples forward breaks (made of plastic)? Can that be fixed or replaced? Seems like a waste to have to buy another stapler if this piece breaks. Thanks!

Unfortunately I don't think that they make replacement parts for these. If it is under warranty they will most likely replace it for you. If not then you are stuck either trying to repair it yourself or buying a new one.

Did you ever figure it out? Have the same problem and until a new one is bought or a part replaced, it is rigged with a couple of strong rubberbands from the back holder to under the push lever. I'm sure the piece can be fixed but I need to see an inside picture of a normal back holder to see how to fix it. Can probably superglue a small 1/2" metal plate inside the back holder. Can someone send a picture?

The back holder on mine was missing, but I was able to get it to successfully staple by pushing a pencil against the staples inside through the loading hole while stapling. Annoying, but works in a pinch.
