Trout fishing with a Rapala minnow 

Dad and I went trout-fishing in a gorgeous creek in Gippsland last week. We caught 44 brown trout between the two of us in 4 hours. It was beautiful right on dawn. Only allowed to keep 10 so we let 34 of them go. I thought of your channel as we reeled them in! So much fun!

I like the way you rip through it Robbie. I've had a lot of success with the rapala CD3 & CD5. Sometimes the treble hooks cause damage on the smaller trout though...it's the only downside. Spotted Dog version is easily the best

I can honestly say I'm currently living vicariously through your videos. Unfortunately haven't wet a line since about April, got plenty of Cray pots in over the season but since trout season's started it's been near impossible to organise a trip for me with this insane weather we've had in NE Vic lately.

Beautiful little creek and a couple lovely fish. Trying to find somewhere close to Deni and Shepparton Lake seems to be the closest spot, just wondering if you've ever fished there? I prefer the slower version, I like seeing all the different things that you get in those boxes and your take on the products.

The fish are very shy here too. I'm not sure what's going on, they're just very reluctant. Last week I dropped 10 fish with numerous follows but I only landed one. Good to know it's not a lack of skill on my behalf

Mix it up Robbie. Whip through it, but if there is something new or interesting, expand on that. I get the trout and Redfin box and when there is something a bit different in it I’m always interested to hear what you have to say about it. Love the pico spoon!

Lovely fish mate! I like that you ripped through the box, good to see, but I'd rather see you catch some fish on em!

You could try pinching the barbs on the treble hooks or switch out the trebles with barbless single hooks. This is if you prefer to release the fish safely to the water. I've done this to many of my plastic lures. As long as you keep the pressure on while retrieving they won't tend to come off. The plus side to this is if you hook yourself they can easily be removed from your skin.

Good vid, for the preference when comes to the unboxing. I would like for things a little unusual to be greater explained, but for more common items can go fast like you were. However, that might not be so helpful for younger fisher kids that may like watching for info as well as the fishing action.

Please, do the "rip through" and the fishing session video as you are. Additionally, what I would like to see fleshed out more is about the box itself, is it just some random "lure" stuff chucked in a box or have the items been carefully selected, laying out what you should be fishing, how you should be fishing, even where (stream, river or lake) maybe even when? Assume someone knows nothing about either Redfin or Trout, but, they have that box, what would they do with the items in there? Example: this months box had 2.5", 2.0" and 1.75" soft plastics (with a pack of heads thrown in), is this a random event because "why not" or are the good people at tackle box trying to tell us something about fishing in November?

Getting through it is ok, but would love some tips on what lure is good for what, and how to fish that lure exactly. Do you do this as a job Robbie? Uploading all the time, love it
