How did they miss the marketing opportunity to sell that beer in an 8 pack? Great interview and thank you Troy for not talking about your Junior High football days
Solid point .. but why do we always see 6 12 18 24 etc . Honestly never knew so hope someone knows ? I'm on 13 out of 30. Dan Marino definitely don't think like you my friend 🤣🍻👍
This guy is just awesome all around. Terrific career on and off the field, and a class act individual. His toughness was very underrated. The guy took some absolutely horrific hits and got right back up, never gun shy, played with multiple concussions. I never forget that Dan Wilkinsons hit. Proud to be a Troy Aikman’s fan. #Help Troy helps kids!!
The holding call was a tough break...after the Eagles were the beneficiaries of two very tough replay decisions. Everyone seems to have forgotten those.
They didn’t benefit from the smith overturned catch that would have had the ball at the 10 in the second quarter. Garbage overturn also. Some bad calls to end a great game by both teams. They only called that fumble td so they can review it 100/100 times that’s call incomplete good grief quit reaching
By the ambiguous, rather arbitrary, fuzzy, isthistomanipulatetheoutcome(?), 'rules' of the day, it was not a catch...I don't enjoy the NFL even half as much as I did in the past. Too much is sketchy, too much of the same 2-3 teams for decades, and too many sh##bag people involved.
The start and end of the hierarchy of all-time QB's, to Troy's point, is Super Bowls, period. Lots of guys will go down in the history books with a lot of statistics, but at the end of the day who cares? Brees, Rodgers, maybe Russ Wilson, Favre, etc. One ring each. Mannings, Big Ben, Mahomes, Troy, etc, 2+ rings and they have stats to boot. At the end of the day guys like Rodgers and Favre and Wilson and Brees, they have as many rings as Flacco, Dilfer, Foles, and Brad Johnson and no one will mistake those latter four dudes as HoF in any capacity. But Mahomes can retire TODAY and would be in the HoF, because ringS plural.
Mahomes is a different dude. Not only does he have a tremendous arm and accuracy, this young man has absorbed any and everything Professor Andy Reid has taught him. Mahomes admitted clearly that he would not be nearly as proficient had he gone anywhere else. Remember that he sat a whole season behind Alex Smith and he said, somewhere in that 18hr Super Bowl pregame show, that he learned so much from Alex Smith and Reid before he even smelled the field. Now that TB12 has retired I believe Mahomes is the perfect "representative" for The NFL.
@@Matthew-sw4ie You literally don't know if he can touch Brady's stats or not. Nobody knows. We're just basing it off potential. Which he's absolutely projected to at the very least, break some of Brady's records.
The defenses were at a disadvantage because the field was terrible. Slipping and sliding around. Plus, this is not the first time that I have seen opposing defenses not defend against Travis Kelce at all. He was wide open a number of times.
We’re you watching the game because the offensive players slipped as much if not more than the defences and Kelce barely touched the ball in the 2nd Half
Defense is already at a huge disadvantage with the way the rules are for the modern game. Add on top of that the fact that the offense knows where it wants to go and the defense has to react gives the offense a huge advantage. Take away the explosive moves of a D-lineman and you end up with Patrick Mahomes sitting back there pretty comfortable
I literally don't understand Dan's dislike for Patrick and the Chiefs. Guys I respected and grew up with. Him, Rich Eisen... they've all been on this officiating kick. It's whack af. THEY FORCED ONE INCOMPLETION IN THE SECOND HALF. THAT WAS THE FULL EXTENT OF THEIR TOTAL STOPS. That was the THIRD time IN THAT HALF that they got cooked on that route. There's screenshots of an accurate angle all over the internet. These guys had to have seen it by now. Don't care. Ratings. And the dude f***in admitted it... what more evidence do you want. They already let a hold go on JuJu in the first half and chiefs had to punt. Also the catch fumble was a catch... Complaining about the officiating is the first square in loser bingo.
This happens in games all the time. Has there ever been a game where the refs called a good game? Let alone being consistent in a game. Welcome to thee NFL!!!
Joe Cool is the GOAT! Put a young healthy Joe into today's NFL and he'd smoke everyone! Put Brady into Joe's decade and Brady might be a good qb at best. Defenses set out to play "kill the quarterback!" in the 70's-80's. Maybe Brady would elevate and play near or at Joe Cool's level. But he'd have to learn to survive very fast.
Exactly. Like in basketball, Magic or Bird would dominate today. Would Stephan Curry (who I love, btw) be as effective with the 80's tough, physical game?
I'm surprised Troy picked Montana .... Stats prove that Tom Brady had triple the wins than Montana at winning games with 2-Minutes or less to play in the game. Brady's stats as a clutch QB is in a position all by himself and not many people talk about it or perhaps don't think important. I like Joe Montana also but stats disagree with Troy (and I like Troy too).
Troy was a great quarterback and is a great announcer. I think Joe Montana is the greatest quarterback since I've been watching football (45 years). I doubt a holding penalty would have been called on Philly if not for Mahomes begging the refs.
BUT the refs upstairs gave 2 questionable calls to the Eagles - Goddert's sideline "catch" and overturning (supposedly need CLEAR evidence) of the wide receiver fumble earlier. Eagles aren't tied without those.
I didn't think he was terrible, but I did think that his call on the Bradbury holding call was so unnecessary. He made his opinion of the play more important than the actual play and I hated that.
