Just started TRT at the ripe old age of 67. Many of my Low TRT Symptoms like Brain Fog, Mood, Fatigue, and loss of Vitality are now gone. The clinic I use is extremely helpful. Staff includes of course a Doctor, an IFBB Trainer-Consultant, a Female IFBB Contestant for Nutrition and a APRN who was once married to a Mr. O. I work out 4 days a week and my strength, stamina and lean body mass have improved.
Was diagnosed bipolar and had a shit ton of suicide attempts. Got my test checked and was like 100 ng/dl. Doc refused to do anything about it, so I went and bought some with a bit of research for trt and haven't had a single episode since. I recognize I should probably mill through a few doctors to do this the right way. I appreciate channel's like this that actually talk about trt/steroid use for sure. The differences and whatnot. I workout a lot and look more natty than anything lol.
@Roy__Batty I don't skip it if that's what you're assuming. I know I'm bipolar, but the in between episodes are easier to manage and I can plan out going to the grippy sock hospital. Anyways an update I am getting on TRT prescribed by my doctor. Got new insurance and another opinion.
@Roy__Batty thanks brotha! Yeah I feel a whole heck of a lot better going the correct route as well. Buying the stuff underground you don't really know what you're getting.
Im 22 And. On my 3rd week of TRT .I was diagnosed with a level of 257 and had litterally every single Symptom .I feel alot better n My jimmy is back up n My muscles r growing good in my bulk phase .2 months ago i was going through alchohol DTs at 135Lbs and Now im 165 and Healthy .
@@drakegagne Honestly you just shouldn't take TRT at this age, period. Have you tried Clomid / Tamoxifen to reset your pituitary gland hormones? If your testosterone was so low it was most likely due to low pituitary gland hormones as they signal the need to produce testosterone. Read about and honestly try it before committing to this and shrinking your equipment.
Derek from "more plates more dates" has a clinic called marek health (which was referenced here as a sketchy clinic) but they're actually really conservative with trt. I know several people who went to them and were turned away from trt because their levels were in the normal range. A lot of popular trt clinics will give you trt no matter what your levels are at as long as you're paying, but Derek's clinic is different.
@@johnk6757 nah they're legit. I go to them along with a bunch of my clients. They might ALSO serve the ifbbpro demographic (esp with medical oversight), but they do not mix TRT and AAS. I know a lot of people who have contacted them hoping to get on TRT with normal existing levels of total T, only to get turned away. They're actually one of the most conservative TRT clinics I've ever seen or worked with.
I'm really glad to hear that, but at the same time there are guys in their 20s who say "I'm tired, I must have low T". It's all a reason to cheat, because their so insecure and lazy. they can't put in hard work and follow a balanced diet. They have no interest in building a foundation first ! These kids are messed up .
@@d.almeida3633 agreed, but you dont get a TRT prescription by complaining about symptoms. You get it based on bloodwork showing you have a legitimate condition.
I just started TRT at 48 years old with 3 small kids. My Doctor was concerned about an off-ramp from TRT down the road and being cautious. I had just had a vasectomy so fertility wasn't an issue for me. I told him that I had 14 years until my youngest turned 18 and I wanted to make the most out of these years. I'll have plenty of time to come off (if needed) when I'm retired and the kids are out on their own.
@@ryanrogers8211Exactly, TRT is a life long journey. Use it right now to get fit so you can perform optimally in life, later on you can always adjust the dosages down if necessary.
TRT made a big difference for me. I hated that I had to o start it, but it is what it is. Low T runs in my family and the highest I've gotten in recent years before TRT, was about 240. Now my numbers are between 750-950. I'm 52.
Thanks, too much? I don't think so. I just wanted to have some what of a reference. so 150 mg a week brings you up by 600 ng/dl ish. I didn't at what range it would bring you up. Just for future reference haha. Much appreciated!! Edit: Hell i'll reach for 1200 ng/dl If I were you haha@@Bognerman14
I've only just discovered this channel and its so useful. Real talk asking the real questions honestly. So good to hear someone who is honest about their max potential without PEDs and how taking them affected them.
Was lifting hard af for the last year and gains really tapered off after newbie gains. Checked test, low 200s. On 100mg trt and shoulders and arms are blowing up now. More gains in 2 months than last 6. Crazy vascularity too. Nothing changed with exersize or diet, it was all T levels.
TRT saved my life. I was 270 pounds at 5’6 33 years old. I was an athlete my entire life. After surgical residency I was 100 pounds overweight. My level was 178. I’m on 100mg qweekly, 170 pounds levels fluctuate between 750-850. It is a miracle drug
Why moving straight to this approach? Before committing to TRT men should try other methods, to attempt fixing what's going on with tier bodies (!). Have you tried Clomid / Tamoxifen to reset your pituitary gland hormones? If your testosterone was so low it was most likely due to low pituitary gland hormones as they signal the need to produce testosterone. I had all low t symptoms with test at 699. I got on trt at 100 mg a week and my lifts absolutely sky rocketed and I felt like a new man. got tested and test was only at 955. TRT makes a world of difference.
Wonder how you will feel when you naturally produce 0 testosterone, have no nuts and all your testosterone is injected. At that level you would think it's something else, that this short dose of trt has fixed
On only 100mg a week? Man I'm on 100mg a week and wish my doctor would let me be on 120-130 I feel better with that . My doctor gets concerned test is too high if it goes above 800. Which is silly.
From my experience with TRT, going from deficient to mid-range (~600) is extremely anabolic. Going up to 1,000+ is better, but not nearly as much as people think (you’ll get much better gains from optimizing protein). But the big exception is when cutting and/or maintaining extremely low body fat. This will basically crash every guy’s testosterone. So TRT is performance-enhancing for many men who don’t really need it. A friend of mine who used to be a male model said that TRT is common in the industry, just to deal with the side effects of year-round low body fat.
This is the performance enhancing mechanism of it. Your test levels aren't affected by diet, sleep, etc. They are normal no matter what you do. It enhances performance even though your levels are normal.
Low body fat is not an issue. Kcal deficiency / starving to get lean is. TRT is not the only way. I think Mike hit it on the head when he said people just think they're going to get jacked. I test as low, but the "symptoms" I have aren't debilitating, I think it's just I'm getting old and have 2 young kids, etc, so I elected not to pursue.
Yup. They think its a loophole to legal/socially acceptable steroids and/or a cure for the aging process. Just another form of chasing silver bullets in life.
I'm also in the lower range, but I'm not undermuscled, depressed, lethargic, or lacking in sex drive. I know of lots of guys who would jump on a needle out of sheer panic if they had my test levels, but since I don't see an inherent value in high testosterone, and don't feel any ill effects, I'll happily get on with my life.
Low t is terrible. Below 100 in the blood and your memory and physicality drop. Body may not function on different levels and depressive symptoms can appear. Trt may resolve may older men encounter.
Oh Jesus definitely hop on, you're like the perfect candidate. Maybe run some Cialis too, not just for boner like Viagra, it dilated all blood vessels so you get nasty pumps and it's actually healthy because it widens vessels for days at a time. If you've had any libido issues test should cover it but you could double up like that and it may even be safer
I’m 46 years old, low testosterone gave me osteoporosis. Now I’m on trt but my bones may never recover like they were before. Everyone talks about low energy and muscle and this and that but no one talks about the dangers of low testosterone like osteoporosis, stroke and heart attacks
Read please: Make sure to get a daily dose of boron, magnesiums, k2 mk7, k2 mk4 and calcium. Also vitamin d3. Boron for example is not very known, yet it has big impact.
With trt I got my total from 350 to 1400, gains galore. I had lost 125lbs got down to 190 and was skinny fat with low T and working out for 7 months with great diet had next to no results, I’m 5 weeks into trt and am recomping already and feel like Superman. I go to low T center. They put me through so many tests it’s crazy but so so so worth it. Life changing stuff here and steroid like results for myself. I’m very happy.
My levels were only 600 with TRT a year ago. My lifestyle was and is optimal. TRT has gotten me to 1300 with optimal free T. Feel great and best shape of my life. ❤
Hopefully, you understand also how TRT changes your metabolism since your body does not produce T like it would otherwise. Now eg. cholesterol for you can be a problem when normally it's the basic building block for T.
Mike is right mostly, but I think there is a conversation to be had regarding the modulating effect of TRT on free Test in the body. Someone who makes 600ng/dl on AVERAGE (without dosing) is subject to swings in test levels based on stimuli. When you replace on a consistent schedule, you reduce the amplitude of those swings. But yea, that would be a pain in the ass and if you're at the level where you need to modulate your test levels, you're already blasting a few other substances
Exactly, naturally your testosterone fluxuates throughout the day and week and you may only be peaking at say 600. With a trt dose, you will usually have a constant 600 ng/dl level which does have various effects on the body, like you will probably gain an edge in terms of building muscle.
It's more complicated than just what the total number is. I tested multiple times with having a total over 900 but my free test was on the lower end. Also androgen sensitivity is a huge factor.
@@adneovesen1249you have that completely backwards. Naturally your body produces 10-15mg a day at a steady state. If you’re going to a clinic for TRT it’s a once a week shot. One a week administration is much more likely to have Adrogenic side effects than being natural because it’s a big dose at once instead of a steady flow at all times
When I turned 50, I began gaining weight(fat) and my energy levels were decreasing. I was training in martial arts, running and/or hitting the gym daily. At my physical, I asked my doc for a hormone panel with my blood test but he refused. So I went to an HRT clinic and my Testosterone was right at the low limit of "normal". So I went on TRT and i feel great. I've lost 30lbs of fat and gained about 5-10lbs of muscle. TRT was a game changer for me..
I’m 48 and have been on TRT for nearly two years. My testosterone levels were under 200, and now they’re around 900. I use the 200mg cream, which works better for me than injections. Yes, the cream is just as effective! Overall, TRT has helped me mentally, giving me the push to hit the gym. I've noticed improvements in my sleep and motivation as well. However, it’s important to understand that TRT isn’t a magic fix-it doesn’t work overnight. It took me about 24 months to fine-tune the right dosage for my body, and everyone responds differently. I've definitely had more energy in the gym, but there are some downsides, like acne on my back and chest, and my face had a bloated look, probably due to my diet. Once I cleaned up my diet, I still had some water retention, which may be related to TRT. I’ve noticed some muscle growth, but nothing extreme. As I move into my 50s, I think TRT will help keep my levels steady, allowing me to continue working out well into my 60s. One key takeaway is that clean eating, proper sleep, and regular exercise are crucial. If you aren’t committed to these, don’t even consider starting TRT-it won’t do anything for you and will be a waste of money.
So I recently got on trt at 37.. anyway when hes talking about the numbers and questionable stuff.. my doctor strait up told me, "If you want your numbers to be 1000nm, 1100, 1200nm we stop when you say you feel good im not really worried about the blood test just how you feel".. thats getting into almost small cycle amounts of 200mg a week+.. So yeah its kind of a wild west out there atm. Plus he gives 3 weeks extra "just incase" my pharamcy backs up but ive never needed it so I could increase my dose 20mg to 220mg. Thats legit small test cycle. 200-300mg
Goated doctor lol. Could save up the extra for a real blast at 500. I wouldn't risk the health for very small benefit over trt. When you cross that threshold you get all the extra glycogen and water weight in your muscles and blood density and other benefits. Probably either stay in healthy blood pressure range or hit minimum powerful dosages, I dunno about guys who aim for the 300 range.... Like you shouldn't do it at all but if you do then go for real gains imo. It's less risky if you're already on trt, definitely if you're natural then don't stop at 200. I have good blood pressure and cholesterol on a 200 cruise but without the extra superpowers from blast, not worth the needles for that dose if you aren't already committed to trt
@@muscularclassrepresentativ5663 not gonna lie I've considered it but I gotta get my numbers tested in 3 months then in another 6. Almost rather know how I react to it over that time plus they offer legal g.h. 220mg and g.h.. weekly I think that's a low base I could start with and see how everything goes down how I react to anabolics. I got all my hair and shit still I need to be worrying about. But down the line save 100mg for 3 months. Then do a 12 week 400mg cycle and coast at 100mg til the next time. That's basically blasting and 🛳
What clinic do you use bro? I’m wanting to get on TRT. I’m 40 and I’ve lost all motivation to go to the gym, libido, and I’m fatigued. I eat pretty healthy and try to excessive but it’s getting harder and harder.
@@joshuahenry3127 PrimeMensHealth. I think they have clinics all over but I never once had to goto a clinic. You do an over the phone consultation then they send you out bloodwork that costs 100. Then when they get that back and settled about 2 weeks later you see a doctor and he's legit. You have to ask about growth hormone though for injuries. Then it's an upfront 450 for 3+ months of meds plus everything you need to use it and they send it out to your place ups.
These guys asked him such basic questions but they were awesome like when dr. Mike explains shit he gets all scientific and they ask him questions in lawymans terms which is perfect
The number one issue I had was no matter how hard I worked out, I coild not stay in shape. I was at the point of wanting to give up on training and working out all together. TRT made a huge difference. I also struggled with performance but TRT helped quite a bit.
One benefit from taking TRT when you don't truly need to is that when you inject your levels are always stable, compared to your natural production which lowers when drinking, sleeping bad, stressing out etc. That alone can be performance enhancing on the long term even when the levels you're injecting are in the natural range.
Even if someone didn't need TRT but started anyway and got to the same levels, it still wouldn't be the same as without TRT. With TRT your test levels are constantly high which is a huge advantage when it comes to muscle building, recovery, and muscle retention while cutting.
Yes but what at what cost? Trt is a pain in the ass and its for life. If you have everything in check and I mean everything it will let you carry about 10 lbs of extra muscle in exchange for biweekly injections and doctors visits every 3-6 months with blood work for the rest of your life. If you don't need it dont do it.
My buddies doctor put him on 200mg of test cyp a week, 50mg a day of MK677 and 20mg a day of Anavar. He’s 40 and in 6 month he went from fat and no muscle to much leaner and he gained 20 lbs. He lives in Florida and his doctor has tren and other stuff.
Almost everybody I'm talking to in my gym is trying to convince me to get on TRT. They're all on it. Ages from thirties and up. Some even in their late twenties!!! Except for one or two guys I can't see that it did them any good. I'm keeping telling them that I don't need it, that my last lab test showed my T is 600, and I don't have any symptoms of low T, and my nuts are working perfectly fine. They're like "Yeah dude, you need your T to be over 1200 dude!" I'm 58 and I lift harder than 80% of any of them. The hardest "PED" I ever took was/is creatine BTW.
Don't I'm 36 and mine was 266 I felt fine but they bumped me to 1200 and it came with a bunch of new problems I wish I would have tried to fix my natural test but I've lowered ot to 140 mg a week and I feel much better
Dude sounds like your hating cus i know dozens of people personally that trt changed there life so idk what kind of dudes you know at the gym on trt or if they are even on real testosterone or not but sounds like your actually just jealous
Does nothing but improve people's lives literally dieting and trt and cardio and living healthy proven does astronomical changes to people's bloodwork that goes being dangerously bad to phenomenally healthy so anyone reading this don't listen to that clown that's so proud of just taking creatine once...lmao put a picture of yourself up dude F
I tried to talk my friend out of doing HRT. We are both 36 and I know he likely has higher T levels than I do. He's a big guy, at least 6 foot tall and very muscular. Unfortunately he ignored me and started TRT and since then has deleted his social media. I'm kinda worried about him tbh.
Hope he's using it right, not overdosing than being given estrogen blockers to negate it. You should never have to use estrogen blockers, just lower the dose and spread it over 2 or 3 times a week to avoid the roller-coaster
I was pretending to be interested in TRT as got to training in hypertrophy seriously pretty late (about 45) having been a boxer in my youth and not 'jacked' but typical lean muscle from a routine of calisthenics and a bit of weight training but been pretty sedentary for a decade and found even training hard using mainly RP advice with a bit of the man like Jonni Shreeve, the gains were hard won. Got tested at 11.8 in 2021 in the UK (about 340), dropped some body fat cleaned up my diet and improved my sleep trained, trained trained, also improved my cardio got tested 6 weeks later and went up to 15.26 (440) also took Tongkat and Ashwagandha. Not sure what improved it (suspect it was the lifestyle not the supps) and realised I definitely don't need TRT and basically was thinking of 'hopping on' which is an entirely different thing. Decided against at this stage but it is hard seeing guys who are juiced to the gills training with minimal effort, minimal intelligence with terrible form jacked AF. Really interested in my 'free' Testosterone though so going to pay for the more in depth test (clearly still tempted to jump on 🤣)
Thanks for sharing this. I’m 404 or 14.1 and I feel all the symptoms. I’m hitting TRT on Tuesday this week and cannot wait. I’ve had enough of the perfect diet, training and everything but still feeling the symptoms. I look great, lost the body fat but had to go keto and quit alcohol for over a year now and train my butt off which leaves me shattered with very poor sleep. I’m starting low doses and working up to whenever I feel like life is awesome again. I’m a qualified therapist and I’ve tried fixing it through positivity but alas it’s a hormone thing. My DNA test confirmed this too. The warriors gene apparently but as cool as it sounds it’s not a good thing, I easily create cortisol the test killer. Anyway I rambling. Here goes TRT and really happy to hear your natural efforts worked for you. I’ve pushed my options to the max so now it’s medical intervention!
I’m 38 and have been on TRT for a year. I take 200nm and week, which in normal. Most people i know take between 100nm to 200nm a week. When I started my Testosterone levels were at 430 and it’s now at 980
That's a big improvement. I just started trt 3 weeks ago. Im 45 years old. My testosterone was in the low 300. I hope I can get it up in the 1000 with a low dosage
I loved TRT at first, but then I got water logged, zits, anxiety, and balls shrink. I got off and started running more to ensure I didn't get fat. My lifts did get slightly less weight.
Yes. TRT replaces what your body used to produce. We would not say someone with normal T levels are on steroids. Therefore the difference between taking steroids (testosterone) and TRT is dosage.
I'm surprised Dr. Mike didn't say anything about having a higher free test level on TRT relative if you had the same natural amount of test production.
I have been on trt for 2 and it does nothing for me what should I do about that? And get real help to get super stressed and no strength!! I do lots of it 1 ml 2 a week and does zero do you think it’s a placebo??
How do y'all even know your test levels? You go to your doctor and tell her to check it? I can't be bothered doing that for no reason and no issues just to know the number is normal which I already expected/knew in advance
I got jacked from TRT. Definitely looked like I was on steroids and my gym buddy knew I was on something within two weeks of me starting it. Every lift went up 15+ pounds within a month...I had a very good physique before TRT but wasn’t very strong. Now I have a slightly better physique but am way stronger
if you test your levels you dont want to check your total test the 300-1000 range but you want to check your free test level thats the one your body can use the most of lets say your total test is 900 that doesnt say anything if your free test is 20 you still feel like shit...
I am on sports TRT around 1500-2000 and it fucking saved my life. Lost 160 pounds of fat and regained my old muscle status from early 30s when i was training for national level. All that in 18 months and all my blood values and BP is down to my 20 year old values being 48 now.

Why is there o much talk about comparing trt and steroid: TRT: 100-150 mg/ml/week of Testosterone... Maintening normal levels of Test Steroid cycle: 200 mg/ml/ml and more of Test
I got on trt at 38(testosterone was 203)for medical reasons. High BP, joint pain, and apathy. The clinic started me at too much(140mg/week) but I titrated it down(80-100/week). If you don't need the shit, DO NOT get on it. I'd much rather produce my own.
@@314shorts 1000 is crazy. Just though that some pros bodybuilders put themselves well above 1000. We likely don't even know how potentially bad that could be for you. @@Madchris8828 When Dallas McCarver died , his level tested at 55000. They estimated that he was was probably shooting up 10000 mg. a week. 4 vials of 10ml of Testosterone Enathante a week. Dude was one of the biggest bodybuidler at age 25, An Olympia contender and turned pro when he was 19, that also contributed to his early death at 26. As Ronnie Coleman said" "He got too big too fast". Most pros take between 1500mg-4000mg of testosterone or 15%-40% of what he was doing. And they also takes grams of other stuff and HGH and insulin. However most of them do cycle off to a "low" dose of 500mg a week. And closer to contest, they usually cut off the testosterone completely.
I'm 49 and I just had my testosterone count checked and it was 852. And there's a lot of things I can do to boost it naturally. I just started working out again this year and I am a freaking beast. And I Chase girls and race cars, Get in fights. And I love every minute of it.
Someone on TRT who is at 800 ng/dl is not the same as someone who is natural at 800 ng/dl. A natural’s testosterone fluctuates throughout the day, whereas someone on TRT is consistently near the peaked level. A natural can overtrain. Someone on TRT could do the same thing and get away with it because their SHBG isn’t going to elevate and lower their free test as a result of what would normally be overtraining.
TRT is not a Nissan Sentra. You go into it thinking you’ll get a super car but you end up getting a fast corvette instead. It’s still way better than the bicycle you were previously riding.
TRT been on the rise lately. People think its not on the same level as steroids so its ok to take. But for most folks, they do not have a medical reason to take it other than hopes of increasing performance.
The whole point of the video is that this doesn't work. Adding test exogenously (from outside the body) will fully eliminate your natural test until you stop, or forever if you're unlucky. You are either shutting down natural test for no reason or you are risking some high blood pressure/cholesterol. Either stay the fuck away from the needle or go for a big boy dose alongside blood pressure meds and then get out afterwards, or commit to trt afterwards forever, which is a possible outcome even if you try to get back off
This is true conceptually, but it is also correct to say trt is steroids in the technical scientific sense. (It is literally a steroid, a type of hormone that is a broad category) Mike isn't saying it's the same as blasting gear, just that you are literally adding a steroid compound to the body
If you were at 200ng/dl and you take 200mg/week? No weird looks. more likely than not, TRT If you're at 1000ng/dl and you take 200mg/week... Likely not TRT.
