I am a Christmas lighting fanatic and expert. I have a 25 pack of the opaque C7s (orange, white, red, blue, green) from the early production run last year. On the outside, they look like contemporary China-made C7s (bulb shape and color of spray paint finish). When lit, they look very close to those same China-made C7s thought they are a little brighter, and they have a very subtle telltale flicker which you can see when moving your eyes (tracing). I was told the bulb shape has been modified to more closely resemble the GE/Westinghouse cone shape which would go a long way towards making these close to perfect. Overall I will not give up my love affair for vintage incandescent Christmas lights for these, though this is a noble marketing and engineering effort. The 5-bulb packaging is fantastic. he packaging alone is worth the purchase price, I think.

Too bad for the flicker. I'll still try some out, the shape is nice. BTW, Lowe's has c7 and c9 incandescents this year... First time I've spotted them in the wild in years...

They did a wonderful job on the packaging. Normally I don't care about that AT ALL, but that's super cool. The mini strand is the cutest thing!

I just got some of these too and they are seriously the coolest LED bulbs I have seen, both literally and figuratively. 😁 That's cool how they sent you an actual display strand, wish I could have something like that.

I can’t wait to order some for next year. I HATE LED Christmas lights but these look like absolute perfection. I can’t wait to see what else they come up with. Hoping and praying they can make mini lights in LED that actually truly look like Incandescents maybe some with reflectors too. These guys have put the twinkle back into Christmas that’s been missing since that ugly harsh LED craze began.

Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT hate LED technology, even in Christmas lights, just because the current trends are stupid. The only reason most look harsh is because the companies are making the choice to use bare, colored LEDs, and LEDs alone are a specifically colored monochromatic light source, not a full spectrum one. The incandescents have a gentler, more sentimental appearance for many simply because some of the additional wavelengths the filament emits besides the color filtered by the glass make it out the glass. Tru Tone is different in that they take warm white phosphor coated LED sets that emit wide spectrum light almost as good as an incandescent bulb and let the colored glass on the bulb be what gives you the perfect balance of the tinted color and the other wavelengths just like incandescents did. LED Christmas lights DO NOT have to suck. Companies just choose for them to suck simply because they choose to use monochromatic colored LEDs (behind the corresponding colored lenses which is really pointless) instead of making another option where they take a set of warm white LED Christmas lights and manufacture them with the colored outer lenses and they would look just as good, if not brighter and more cheerful, than their incandescent counterparts. One very famous pro-LED RU-vid user, Technology Connections, agrees that most LED Christmas light sets suck and he's trying to get companies to start doing more of what I was just describing and he has a whole series of videos about this which he adds to every season. @@exoticcar5482 The *flicker* sucks for those who perceive it. I just ordered some of these tru-tones, and hope it won't ruin the experience. Was using DC low voltage LEDs previous.
