I have always LOVED the C9 and C7 lights. Miniature lights have always been problematic from the gitgo. Growing up, I had a small Christmas tree and the lights were miniature lights and they constantly had problems. I got tired of the problems with miniature lights and I went to Kmart with my family and babysitter and got a strand of C7 lights. I am still decorating with that strand today! I have since replaced all of the bulbs with LED. The big C9 bulbs have always been a problem with heat from the gitgo. For a while, I would get a bunch of C9 lights from Sears for real cheap. But they were C9 covers over miniature lights. They were very problematic. Impossible to find replacement parts, stopped working year after year, and stuff. But they got the job done and they operated cooler than conventional C9. Then, I decided to risk it and use conventional C9 inside my house. No problems. Then, LED hit the market. Snow is actually able to land on my outside Christmas trees. There is actually no reason to use incandescent anymore. Incandescent Christmas lights are getting hard to find. Incandescent is really like heaters. Incandescent requires more watts to put out usable light. And, one surge of voltage, clink! And, the bulb is in the toilet. Incandescent has always been inefficient from the gitgo. I gave up on incandescent back when I was in Kindergarten...pre-K. Around then, I ONLY used incandescent for Christmas lights. In fact, I asked my dad to install a fluorescent light in my bedroom in the first grade. Incandescent has always been inefficient from the gitgo.
