I loved "Battlefield Earth" and I read his 10 book series but only because I had to hear the end of the story and I figured it would be worth the effort in the end ... but I was wrong. I only made it through the first few chapters of "Dianetics" though, it was just so convoluted and silly.
Nice vlog iam going to tell a story from my daughter in NYC wen I was living in Germany iam german and American Doctor in computer science and had my daughter visited me every year in Germany then in 2018 iwas talking to my granddaughters 10 and 11 years old about the big bang that as a siencetist didn't believe because something can't come from nothing and we where in a rented apartment by schwanstein castle on the balcony and she came out to the balcony screaming that iam the devil and that she will kill me trying to take Christian religions from her daughters any way not a word from here or granddaughters in 4 years they do like iam dead this all because of religion thanks for your vlogs
Lol in the middle of the story I was thinking hmmm this sounds like someone else I know of and at the end when you revealed the full name I was like yep, I was right. It really sucks living in LA I constantly have to see scientology bullshit everywhere and one of their huge "churches" is right next to the hospital I go to :/
While there is no real doubt Lafayette was a huckster with few, if any, qualms about fleecing his flock, $.01 a word wasn't isn't really a bad thing to say about pulp writers. Asimov and Heinlein both wrote for $.01 a word in their early careers, and were happy at the time to get it. Of course, they wrote decent fiction and moved up the ladder without running a scam on their readers.
