Just yesterday Trump claimed that a 100K death toll in the US should be considered a great outcome--if you can't win, change the definition of winning even if it ends up looking a lot like losing. I'm a healthcare professional and it just infuriates me every time this asshat goes on camera to say that "we are doing a great job...the best job...no1 else is doing as great a job as us", when there r MANY frontline workers that would disagree. The truth is that there aren't enough medical equipment to sustain people and they r dying by the hundreds a day, yet this fool is talking about opening up the country again and saying that people aren't grateful enough to him because we aren't kissing his ass for doing HIS FUCKING JOB! when you are laid off, the unemployment office verifies with your employer that you got laid off. when your employer is ready for you to return to work, they will inform unemployment if you refuse to return to work. You cannot refuse to return to the job that laid you off, you can however, ride out the unemployment for the full term if your employer never brings you back . I have worked in difficult situations, such as an influx of patients from other facilities during a flood and with refugees. I have not worked during a pandemic, but did work during a horrible flu season where our hospital was inundated and we had patients in conference rooms and hallways. I give a lot of credit to those who are now on the front lines and get angry when I hear someone question our dedication to our profession. I am doing my part by being on the board of an international physician/healthcare professionals organization. Our board consists of healthcare professionals around the world and we are meeting to exchange information from our respective countries and help form plans of action to combat the virus, get information out to the public and address such issues as mental health care for those on the front lines, safe maternal and child care, etc. Some of us may not be on the front lines, but we are working to help nevertheless. God bless all of our people on the front lines, from nurses, to doctors, to all the other people within the system such as janitors, cooks, aides, paramedics, police, firefighters, and everyone else who is contributing.

I'm willing to bet that most nurses make more money that what he says, too. I've heard some cooks in restaurants (not fancy ones) make about what he described, and nursing is a much more specialized profession, requiring far higher education. He has no idea what people make in the real world, does he?
