I don't understand how 1/3 of women aren't supportive of this healthcare option. Even if you wouldn't take this option yourself, why would you force other women to potentially die by following your ideals? It's craaaaazy.

Doctors should call up their congressman, tell them " I have a patient that will most likely die in the next 7 mins unless I perform this abortion. The mother dies then so will the child. I cannot comprehend their thinking. While I do not "endorse" abortion, I believe the option for a safe, legal abortion should be available to women. I think contraception should always be offered and affordable. With our current health care system and costs many women cannot afford pre-natal care. MDs are concerned with malpractice cases in the event something unexpected occurs. Why cant people mind their own business?

I truly believe that there shouldn’t be legislative action taking place regarding women’s health and reproductive rights. The fact that men never have to contend with any of the problems regarding reproduction should mean that they should have no right to push their views on to women. Basic human dignity and responsibility regarding women’s bodies should be up to the female sex and men should never be able to force their views on the issue. If women tried to do the same thing to men, they could maybe understand where we’re coming from. They would chafe at women taking such liberties in speaking for them as aw whole. They should be empathetic and put themselves in a woman’s place. Due unto others as you would have done unto you… Vote blue! 💙💙💙💙💙💙

I would like to see a national referendum on abortion - let Americans settle this once and for all. Abortion should never be a topic of law, or 'issue' of debate among politicians. It is no one's goddamned business - it is only the woman and her physician who decide. Period. I've read that many, many OG/GYN physicians practicing in red states have left their practices and fled to blue states to avoid potential penalties, fines, and imprisonment for practicing medicine. This has created emergencies and shortages of qualified OB/GYN MDs in numerous regions in the country. See also: Idaho, Arizona, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Texas, and others. And most of these red states have the highest infant and maternal mortality rates in the nation. Politicians are not qualified physicians.

As someone in Ireland who lived under a ban for 34 years I think its disgusting that those babies that had a fatal anomaly had to endure severe pain after 20 weeks in utero and then went through birth only to last a few days dying in pain all so some men could call themselves pro life

I don’t want Trump or any other person other than myself deciding what medically procedures I want and need. I don’t want my granddaughter or my great granddaughters to have to live under the thumb of a dictatorship either. I’m urging everyone that I know to vote, blue, not just for president, But all across the board. Because what good will it do to have Biden as president and the Congress or the Senate controlled by the ultra right. And I have to be punished because my doctor tells me that I am going to die because I have a pregnancy that has gone wrong and she cannot do anything to help me. So if I go up to another state and get help, then I have to be punished. That’s outrageous.

And they are supposed to be pro life?

It's not just infant mortality. Birth defect rates are up as well. That's to be expected, as parents are not being given options even when the child is predicted to have a very poor quality of life, assuming survival is possible.

The Texas supreme court ruled that a woman who's life was in jeopardy did not meet the exception for the life of the mother or if a major bodily function was in danger. Then, they refused to clarify just what was included in their exceptions. Their rulings have gone against every woman who has tried to follow the law no matter how much evidence there is that a woman's life is at risk. Just how dead do women have to be before they qualify for an exception? Is it nearly dead, pretty much dead, or your other children finding you dead in a pool of your own blood on the bathroom floor because she couldn't find a Dr who would help her while having a miscarriage because they didn't want to lose their license & be imprisoned for 99 years if the state decides they made the wrong decision dead? This has never been about being pro-life. This has always been about controlling women. They don't care if carrying a dead fetus is torture for a woman. They don't care if carrying a dead fetus causes sepsis & death for the woman. They don't care if forcing a 12 year old to give birth might kill her or make her infertile for the rest of her life. They just don't care about women's lives.

I'm so happy my three daughters, 31, 29, and 26, live in a state that has no abortion ban. It's still legal to have an abortion here in Pennsylvania. But it's on extremely shaky ground to say the least. No one, other than the man and woman and their doctor, should EVER dictate what my daughters, and especially my three granddaughters do when it comes to their physical health. It's amazing to me that Pro Life supporters go on and on about abortion being akin to murder. That all life is precious! Ok; please answer two questions I have that seem to confuse and fluster anyone who is asked and will die yelling making an essential procedure should be illegal. (Some even call for the death penalty for the mothers and the doctors or anyone who helps assist a woman who lives in a state where abortion is illegal. Mind you, they aren't difficult questions. In fact, explaining why many Republicans shouldn't struggle to answer them. Unfortunately, anyone asked either stammers because they have nothing to say so they pivot and pass the blame and problem to liberals and moderate Republicans who feel access to terminating a pregnancy is a constitutional right all woman should have. First question; so many Pro Life people say that abortion is the same as murdering a child because life begins at conception. And many women who seek to terminate a pregnancy, for whatever reason and as long as it's within a justifiable time limit of of pregnancy, are forced to carry the fetus which, by definition, until a baby is born the scientific term used to describe said fetus os a parasite. Look it up. Like you do for all your "facts". In any case, once the babies are born, I'm not sure you can put two and two together, but access to any assistance to raise the child that will most likely grow up in a broken home suffering from neglect, abuse, or worse, (support LGBTQIA+ rights to adopting a child that's been abandoned or not wanted!🏳️‍🌈) so why are you all so for keeping the fetus even though that child will grow up without many of the luxuries you enjoy in your lives, even going days without food, power, and housing yet I rarely, if ever, hear you shout about the many unwanted babies born in this country? You don't want to allow benefits paid by your taxes? You're against welfare and handouts? Ok. Adopt as many babies as you can so they are alive and can be punished throughout their childhood learning all of the toxic beliefs and positions so many Republicans hold. And the s cons question is much less complex. If abortion is murder, and you feel that all life is sacred under you Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, then please explain why you are so enthralled with the death penalty? Isn't all life sacred? Or are specific lives , like a fetus who can't survive outside of a woman's womb through the first trimester so that right there should shoot down the life begins at conception line, a baby you'll watch struggle to survive but anyone in jail, migrants crossing the border, even shoplifters not given their due process in front of a jury of their peers, are the disposable lives because they've committed crimes that, and I say this believing it 100%, that are so heinous and vile so you and the judicial system become the real judge, jury, and executioner? If all life is protected and all are Forgive of their sins at the time of their death, then why are you so gung-ho about killing anyone... any life. Both questions address one of the biggest and most dangerous threats to our democracy; hypocrisy. I can tolerate it. No one wants to accept blame. It's always someone else's fault. Do you listen to other people's talking points at these rallies put on by a convicted felon? You are either making absolutely no sense with what you say and when questioned about actual facts you get tongue tied and say.....and every single one of you starts their answer off with the same statement, and I'm making a general statement; you all mean the same thing. It's always "well liberals did this", "it's Bodens fault" the election was rigged" "we don't care if Trump is a convicted felon, he loves America and and that he is for real Americans" , and the infamous "Hillary Cli ton should be locked up because 33,000 emails went missing". So t you hear how ridiculous and hypocritical you sobs. It's sad really. And the other reaction after looking like a deer caught in headlights is to insult and degrade the person asking them. Disgusting, horrific, vile, nasty, cruel things I can't imagine your parents would ever want to hear coming out of your mouths. It's degrading, disgusting, and wrong. I'm part of a group called "Old White Men" and I wish I wasn't. I don't feel that it's my place to tell women what to do with their bodies except to provide input to a spouse if I had one. I feel that the group that I'm involuntarily part of should just stand back and support the women in what could be some of the toughest decisions that they may ever have to make. Abortion is one of those decisions and I want to support women's decisions rather than step in and try to make choices for them that I'm not only unqualified to make but is none of my damned business. Rant over.

The bottom line is that women that are not emotionally ready and mentally stable are now forced to carry unwanted pregnancies to term. They are alcoholics, drug addicts, homeless women, teenagers and sometimes pre-teenagers and once these babies are born they will be in terrible living conditions. All those who work in social services and mental health professions will tell you that these new anti-abortion laws are nothing but a precursor to terrrible, terrible suffering on the parts of these babies and children, many of whom will die from neglect and abuse. This is absolutely irresponsible and unconscionable.

Garrison, you make a good point. I live in New Jersey and I support a woman's right to choose. I might not agree with certain aspects of this issue BUT it's a WOMAN'S right to choose to have or not have an abortion! NOT some Congressman or Congresswoman whose ideals are stuck in the America of the 1950's. A WOMAN'S body is HER body!

Why is it that physicians, who pay for malpractice insurance and have to be accountable for their decisions, can non medical politicians set rules and be able to walk away from any accountability regardless of medical outcomes?

Before the abortion bans the USA had one of the highest infant mortality rates in the industrialised world. The USA has one of the worst medical industries in the world. When you place profits over people's lives people die unnecessarily. I am glad that I live in Australia and never have to worry about the price of health care.
