@Timmah200 To President Biden, a real President, he has the most important job in the world. To Trump, the worst president we ever had, he is the most important (idiot) in the world!
By allowing him to ramble, the assistant AG got him relaxed and he literally admitted “everyone” in the company was in charge of making sure there was no fraud. There were a couple of other admissions. That is why the assistant AG didn’t object. It was a brilliant strategy.
The CFO has already been convicted in a plea deal. The question is did Trump and his kids direct him and the other accountant to submit bogus valuations.

As a person of 77 does it ever feel like the world gets better, i just got laid off after years of struggling i was homeless in my early 20's due to insurance companies not taking me because of my epilepsy until the health care act passed then i was able to go back to school and get a min wage job close to homelessness but fighting hard not to fall back and this was my first time not struggling but i'm back to struggling again at 34 and i'm burnt out sicker than before and i am just sorta losing hope that someday i won't have to live in survival mode. I guess i'm asking in your experience by the time i'm 77 is there sigh of relief at any point?
My mother was an accountant for over twenty years. You have a responsibility to understand your financial forms before they are submitted and you are required to sign them with your signature. From a legal perspective you are responsible for your financials regardless of whether or not you understood them. He could try suing his accountant but it wouldn't absolve him of his crimes even if they had occurred out of ignorance.
So the one thing I’m unsure about: when they say accountants, they mean the actual auditors or do they mean the bookkeepers. Because accusing your auditors would somehow make sense if you didn’t actually know about the fraud (kind of unlikely) but accusing bookkeepers is just idiotic
I canvassed for Ruben Gallego in Arizona this weekend. I had never done anything like that before, it was actually really fun and i met a lot of great people. After Az’s Attorney general election in 2022 was determined by 280 votes (out of 2.5 MILLION) i told myself i would never not be involved in elections. We must fight for the future we want! Let’s get out there and make it happen everyone! 👏
Gotta love that the defense for his two adult sons who helped with the crime was "These children have been forcibly taken away from their families for doing nothing wrong." Like that isn't literally what Trump's border policy was doing to real actual children. I think we don't talk about that enough.
Maybe that was the way we could have got through to him. Did anyone ever try “Imagine if Ivanka was in a cage? She would be available for campaign appearances or for you to date!” Kids would have been returned by morning tea.

The poll only listed registered voters, if only likely voters are considered, Biden wins by 2 in all but 2 States - of course they didn't highlight that, it was noted in a separate article - pretty fishy

As an european watching from the outside as well I feel likewise disturbing vibes of vague nausea with this horror clown show. There are still 6 fraud allegations being tried, they require intent to be proved (so that’s why they weren’t part of the summary judgment). The findings on these claims will also help determine the penalties.
@karlwithak. Oh, please enlighten us with your vast wisdom concerning the SDNY and the legal system! I’ve been going back-and-forth on this issue, but I feel now that it’s important to televise the DC trial. I think that trial should be public viewing just like the trial in the Senate. The DC case is historic and people need to see. Just like televising Watergate. That sunk Nixon. They *have* to televise that trial.
The problem is that Nixon was supported on rational grounds - not necessarily *correct*, and often subjective, but the vast majority of his supporters believed arguments about positions, policies, and executive ability. Trump's support, particularly now that he had his chance to make SCOTUS appointments, is nearly all demagogic. It's based on a cult of personality which is largely immune to facts and events. Unfortunately I don't think more coverage of his trials would sway many potential voters. As is often the case in contemporary America, I think 2024's election will come down to turnout, not persuading "independent" voters.
Yep, it’s all about turnout. That is why Republican legislators are making up wacky laws like no passing out water to people in line and signing your middle initial, they want to hamper all voting bc the more people that vote the more they lose.
Someone please explain to me why 51% of polled voters can be absolutely enthralled by this sad excuse of a former president. Heads up their bottom end?
I think it’s more that Biden’s own base is shrinking with disgust at his response to Gaza. Hard to hold your nose and vote for the lesser evil when the lesser evil is aiding a genocide
It depends on who was polled. Polls will show whatever you want them to if you sample the right people. I remember being polled after the 2018 midterms. Haven't been contacted since.
It would be interesting to see the polling technique. Sometimes I'm sure they still call landlines & that explains the demographic they get... But a good poll requires varied demographics, so it depends on the quality of the poll. Also, depends on the number of people polled. They can ask 1000 people and extrapolate from there which is not very representative. I have no idea about the poll cited though.
This is so bizarre. I worked for a licensed surveyor. End of day anything I had measured, put on paper to be signed off was ultimately his responsibility. I had some responsibility to ensure it was accurate and according to the the rules set out by various acts and legislation. At the end though, it was my Boss (licensed surveyor) to sign off. Same way these real estate moguls should be treated. I can't understand how they can be so totally ignorant of their responsibilities.
You’re being generous in putting it down to mere ignorance. The conniving scumbag Trumps are only pleading ignorance because they know they’re screwed otherwise. They’re trying to sacrifice their accountants to save themselves, and they’ve clearly planned this ‘defence’ which is why Don Jr and Eric’s testimonies were so similar.
They report poll numbers like they mean something. Asking 500 people about their opinions and concluding that they represent all 210M registered voters is laughable
This isn't about whether they're guilty of fraud or not. They have already been found guilty. Nu-uh. Trump-supporters have been made believe there is utter chaos and destruction NOW. GQP managed to raise propaganda on a new level, where facts are faked and beliefs are facts.
Remember that the pollsters get their poll stats by calling landline phones. That means that the only people that get polled are 80 year old shut ins that watch only Fox. These polls are often organized by right-wing groups and are tailored to create an image. The polls are a lie. Don't fall for it. America does NOT want Trump back.
No. No, it wasn't. The one the other night about how worried djt was over Junior testifying, that was genius. Just the point alone about how abnormal it is for a campaign rally to not be about the campaign at all but simply the candidate whining about something completely unrelated, that by itself would have made the peace memorable apart from anything else that was in it. This one, in contrast, wasted way too much time on tiresome side jokes.
Call the accountants to testify against them. Let them tell the court where they got the inputs from and how many times Trump sent them back to “massage” the numbers in his favor.
They don’t really need to do this. The judge already reviewed the evidence and heard arguments from both sets of lawyers and determine that by law, a crime was committed. Trumps lawyers missed their chance to get a jury trail by letting that happen. Though i believe it was a purposeful gamble so that Trump could have more reason to yell witch hunt and get voters and donations. This whole trail is just to determine the extent of crime and damages to be paid, the company is already guilty already guilty. Also, I’m not 100% on who the suit was brought against though. Pretty sure trump in Incorporated so they are suing the business not the Trumps directly, so even if Trump said “fudge the numbers” he cant be jailed directly through this suit, he is protected behind the corporation. It would need to happen separately
The trump accountant, Allen Weisselberg, was convicted of tax fraud and sentenced to 5 months in jail, I wonder if the transcripts of his hearings have been made public yet? That dude knows where all the bodies are buried, including any and all criminal acts by "big daddy" Fred Trump. We just recently learned that Weisselberg was never even a CPA! I bet Amber said, "Whaaaaa??" when she heard about that!
Cameras need to be in the court. Exactly what was predicted has happened: the defense comes out and spins their victimhood and the prosecutors just let it happen because ... professionalism ... which is no longer an effective position against those who flout norms ...
One small point. The Trump Organization's fraud is no longer "alleged," it has been been found true by the judge, who is now looking into its extent so that he can decide on the size of the fine and other consequences.
@karlwithak. Of course there was financial loss. He got more favorable loan terms, he got lower tax appraisals, so therefore, financial loss to those that lent him money and to the government.
@karlwithak. 45 is a TAX CHEAT ! Period. He owes more than the fine he paid. Cheated his Business partners & didn't pay the contractors. The guy is a real piece of work ! 91 FELONY Indictments & there's more coming !
@karlwithak. so if we follow your logic, in your world, someone claiming to be 65 to get a senior discount at a store with a fake ID when they’re only 55 isn’t really committing fraud, if the store still profited from the transaction. It doesn’t matter to you that the store received less than it would have done from the transaction if the person had been honest. I’d venture to suggest that it’s not other people who have trouble with the concept of a “loss”.
There really are two different sets of rules. If anybody without millions of dollars acted the way trump did in court they would be in jail. I hope one day the rich are as afraid of the court as poor people are. Because there’s no way I would act this way in court.
Exactly perfectly stated. Although Trump would have you believe that the rules he is subject to are harsher than those that everyone else is subject to.
Truly frightening that this man who is beneath contempt is polling this strongly at present. What it says about the people in this country is even worse, unfortunately. I’m disgusted by them.
If he manages to convince the court that the properties were actually worth what he told the banks, wouldn’t he actually be admitting under oath that he committed tax fraud?
WHEN Trump loses his New York case, he could have an even bigger nightmare coming: Deutsche Bank's New York branch can call his business loans early because of the falsified information on his assets statements: Repayment of balance owed plus interest, once there's a losing verdict. Deutsche Bank could technically do it now with the evidence uncovered this far (they would for anyone else.) But if he's found liable for anything close to $250,000,000, that could slam dunk it. Trump can appeal it all the way up to the Supreme Court. But this would REALLY be pushing it with the banking industry. And not even this Supreme Court would hear it. Then there's The J6 Trial, The Georgia Election interference Trial, The Florida Documents Trial. All higher-end felony trials. The odds of him losing at least any one of these with the way he's been reacting are pretty huge (most innocent people are smart enough to keep a low profile in cases like these.) And prosecutors in such cases don't come empty handed. Who knows what else? But yeah, we're all supposed to be worried about Hunter Biden....
His writers have been making a lot of mistakes lately though. The bit about a president being able to pardon themselves is just fictitious. The one limitation in the constitution placed on pardon power pertains to a president under impeachment… Even *another* president can’t pardon them if they’re being criminally investigated in that scenario. It’s just batshit to think that a president could pardon *themselves* even though their former VP and incoming replacement can’t pardon *them.*
You don't have to say alleged fraud. He and his kids and others have been found guilty. The trial is mainly just to see how much disgorgement he'll have to pay.
I know right. He was trying to make people believe he was not ALREADY FOUND GUILTY.He said that the other day."They have me found guilty already. Before the trial has even begun."Ya.You were already TRIED and found GUILTY!!!what part of that did they not explain to the STABLE GENIUS???You would think a Genius could follow along with the rest of us.But he wanted people to believe he could possibly still be innocent, without have been TRIED AND CONVICTED ALREADY.stable genuis.the man has never even been loyal to his own families.FAMILIES!!!Not just once. Not just twice. But more than THREE TIMES.And one time while his newest wife was home with their newborn baby.I was married. We had children.I was not happy or comfortable with it but I waited for my wife to recover WITHOUT CHEATING ON HER!!!TWICE!!!And Malonia is less precious than my wife????Despicable covers it.I think.Just saying. For a friend.
"Don Jr. and Eric had to go in there all alone! They were separated from their family!" Well, their dad took actual children and babies from their families and put them in cages so I think these 30 somethings will be fine away from their parents for a few hours.
I'm not particularly worried about the polling. There's a huge difference between what people say they'll vote for when the choices are theoretical and when you're actually staring at the ballot
When you look at the poll it's a good amount of people who didnt even vote in 2020. So whats the chances they'll vote this time?? Their opinion means nothing anyway
When candidates are disliked/unwanted which Biden/Clinton/Trump are, voters decide early and don't change their minds. 75% don't want Biden to run. 68% don't want Trump to run. The polls are very unlikely to change. What Americans need to be asking themselves is why out of 330 million people, these are the best 2 y'all could come up with.
@@AKHill-gj2uy For sure, if anyone can lose to that idiot Trump it's a center right octogenarian. Trump and his MAGA GOP are so obviously and openly trying to end our democracy that I just can't imagine people voting for them though.
How stupid do you have to be to insult the judge who is the ONLY person (there's no jury) that is going to decide the amount of damages against you (remember that $250 million is the MINIMUM and could be more than a billion!)? Answer: A Stable Genius! 😂
Some prosecutor said that Trump might be being as objectionable as possible on the stand in order to provoke the judge so that he can use his comments later to appeal on account of bias. Obviously Trump is as thick as mince but his lawyers might have strategised and advised him to behave that way. Personally I’m not convinced given Trump’s track record for saying the most STUPID thing possible in any given situation. An amendment may be proposed by a two-thirds vote of both Houses of Congress, or, if two-thirds of the States request one, by a convention called for that purpose. The amendment must then be ratified by three-fourths of the State legislatures, or three-fourths of conventions called in each State for ratification.
It boggles my fragile European mind that US presidents have the power to pardon themselves. The founding fathers went to such lengths to create a system of checks and balances and yet somehow that caveat exists??
It doesn't matter for a civil state case anyway. You can only pardon federal charges as President. Now a Governor can pardon him, but NY will never have a Republican Gov to make that possible.
@@clothilde1623The issue is that it's not stated that the president can't pardon themselves. The constitution just says that the president can issue pardons for federal crimes. It's a lack of specificity. And in order to add that specificity it takes a constitutional amendment, which needs 2 thirds of congress and 3 quarters of state legislatures to agree to it. None of this extends to state crimes, however. Trump couldn't pardon himself for the NY case or the Georgia case.
