Hey there, great video. I really liked the attention to detail. I need help figuring out a few things, maybe you could help? I am planning to purchase the same motor ESC combo for my TRX4 defender and I also want upgrade to a high torque servo that is capable of running on 7.4v. Can I draw 7.4v from this new BEC or do I need to purchase a separate BEC? I also have the Traxxas light kit that is connected to the Traxxas ESC but if this gets replaces by a new ESC where do I connect the light? Thank you for sharing.
I think the lights are powered from the lipo right or do they only connect to the Receiver? I'm als not really sure wheter the receiver can handle the 7.4v (8,2 when fully charged) I would suggest using a separate BEC for the 'regular' stuf, just splice the BEC in the powerline from the ESC (middle pin) and route 7.4v to the servo middle pin Esc power wire (7,4v) --> servo + BEC power. BEC -> receiver + lights Connect all ground together (black wire) Connect signal wire (white) as per original wiring (hard to explain without drawing 😉)
Hi Elijah, The iron I'm using is the TS80, there is an updated version available as TS80P, you can buy this at various places (some local shops or BG or Aliexpress)
If I recall correctly that is 'just' a brass bumpermount from Aliexpress (I like the mount because the servo horn now clears the suspension arms better)
