Helpful video! Regarding sizes, 0 is the biggest and 9 is the smallest? I have extremely narrow nail beds and am thinking about buying a refill pack to see if they fit first!

#KCNails... love the video and the nails! I do have one question. In the video were you saying that you CAN cut the gel nail down for the long coffin nail?

Thank you! Some brands don’t recommend cutting them because they try to place the apex in the perfect position for the length of the nail. But in my experience, most gel tips are generally pretty flat.. so unless it’s a “sculpted” gel tip, I think it is fine!

No, and that’s the point! Definitely prep properly if you want yours to last! I do this sometimes to allow my nails to come off quicker since I do so many nail sets! A lot of times I apply a peel base over my gel polish so the next set pops off right after!

Do you know why it wouldn't cure? I got a kit on sale today at CosmoProf, and I never do nails and don't know anything really about gel polish. But after using this exact kit and led lamp, the KS gel polish isn't curing. Even after 3 mins it's still sticky. Shook the bottle well, thin coats, still sticky. Pretty disappointed as this pro product works no better than cheap drug store products it seems. Any advice?

It’s a little hard to tell you exactly why If I’m not able to watch how you’re applying things and how the nails are after curing.. However if you’re brand new to gel polish, you should be informed that gel cures with an inhibition layer which is sticky/tacky. Most all gels (and gel polishes) have this aside from non wipe gel topcoats. There are some “all in one” gel polishes that cure without stickiness but they’re a little harder to find. Typically to remove this you can use a lint free wipe & rubbing alcohol. Touch your nails after and look at them closely, you should see that there’s product on your nail! Usually you shouldn’t be removing the tacky layer before continuing with your next layer/applying the gelly tips. You’ll only need to remove it if it’s your topcoat that has the tacky layer. I usually only work with non wipe topcoats so I never have to worry about removing it. The top coat gel in this specific kit (Kiara sky’s Gelly tip topcoat) is a non wipe so you shouldn’t have any stickiness after it’s cured. But, if this isn’t the case and the gel actually isn’t curing.. there should be no product at all on your nails after wiping it off with the wipe. If this is happening, typically it has something to do with your lamp.

@@KCNails thank you for the detailed response! I tried wiping with alcohol and it seemed to work. Our kits must be slightly different, but they look identical. I think we're on the right track now, thank you again so much for the info! I don't work in a place that offers nails (most salons around here don't include nails) but I do them at home for my wife to keep my skills from getting too rusty

I got this kit when it released in 2020. The medium coffin and almond are the only ones that fit me. I do cut the coffin because I type. The shorter lengths are too flat and I can't use them at all. I have to squeeze to form the nail and while I cure because my sidewalls are deep. It's a good kit and I used the builder sometimes just to overlay.

Do you feel the almond and the coffin are generally the same shape (the nail bed area)? I know Gelly tips vary a lot. I got their medium square tips, hopefully I can do the video pretty soon. From other brands I have a bit of issues with the almond/stiletto ones being different sizes than the coffin (which fits me best) I think after the square I’m going to try the medium stilettos. I’m just a little nervous if it’ll fit my wide nails.

@@KCNails coffin and almond aren't that close of a shape. Coffin and more square tips look better on my hands. They match my cuticles ad almond and stilleto have mover curved base. I despise a long square but love it on my natural nails.

can honestly say they are not worth it, tried the 20$ beetles gelly tip set and they have already surpassed my liking for kiara sky, i put 2-3 layers of clear dip powder to make the beetles set a tad stronger but they are not lifting as much as kiara sky did
