Excited to watch this! We have a similar skintone and I can’t decide which shade I want. I feel like their product photography is misleading on their site.
I love your video. Especially since I am wanting to try IL Makiage lipsticks. You helped me narrow down which colors would work for me. My only suggestion is, to where a black or more neutral shade shirt because your red shirt made it a little hard to know if I'm seeing the actual color of the lipstick or if it's being effected by the color of your shirt. I look forward to learning more about makeup from your videos.
this is great because it's a real life depiction of what the colors look like on a real person. you've helped me decide. think i'm gonna go with elwa. when you said "my lips but a little bit better" i knew EXACTLY what you meant. i want it to look similar to my own natural lip color, just a bit more saturated.
Just what I needed to see today. Have been meaning to try one of these shades out but a picture on the internet is always not enough. I just want to ask - how long lasting are these lipsticks? I bought a mac recently which promises 10 hr long lasting stay and it doesn't last even for 2 hours inspite of being a liquid lipstick. So very skeptical on putting my money on another not so long lasting shade! Please reply. Thanks. xx
Hey, so I don't really believe that any lipstick on the planet could last 10 hours without being compromised in some way- longwear liquid lipsticks always peel off or go goo-ey around the corners of your mouth, so in general I do prefer the bullet lipstick formulas. In my experience, if you line and blot your lips, then reapply, you get a really decent wear time out of these lipsticks, provided youre not eating and drinking a lot as of course that's going to interrupt the formula too. I think brands shouldn't make sure insane claims about lipsticks/ foundations/ concealers, because it's just not realistic! I do think these ones are a fab quality, and definitely worth it vs other formulas I have tried though!!
@@TomFraserMUA I've tried on the Dior liquid lipstick which costs almost the same price, a little more than mac maybe and it stayed all day while I didn't care about what I ate or drank. I was super impressed with that one. The Mac one barely stays for 2 hours. Do you think i must go ahead and buy the il makiage lipstick... Is it like a good investment.. or atleast does it stay for a couple hours?
@@levelupwithhiral That's incredibly impressive of the Dior lipsticks! When I have used these lipsticks on shoots, they have all held up very well for a number of hours, but I can't guarantee how long it will last on you sadly!
Now, with matte lipstick and our dry/aging lips... Would it help if I had a lip oil or ChapStick underneath?? Because I tend to shy away from mattes because they usually dry me out and make the texture on my lips more noticeable I feel🤷🏼♀?? I absolutely loved Divinitii!!! Just gorgeous on you!!
Big time yes to the chapstick! I should have mentioned in the video that I did apply it a couple of times- really recommend it!!! Wow you like the bold colours too huh?!? It really is a very pretty colour!! ❤️
Juany looks fantastic on you! ❤️ I have a natural mauve tone to my lips and concealer looks just bad under lipstick on my lips, so I have to use orange tones to counter the mauve. My skintone is light olive with yellow overtones (see, I learned stuff 😁) and I would like to ask if you could recommend a nice spring lipstick colour that isn't orange, or at least not so much orange. I have mac chilli, addicted to chilli, givenchy orange underground and orange absolue as my staple lipsticks, but would like something mlbb a bit rosy, fresh, you know? Sorry for asking a hole in your belly! 🙈
If you like chili from mac, then you'll love Carmen from Dear Dahlia- it's FABULOUS. It's a really unique red, with an orange base, but it's not bright orange, almost muted. I love it! Elwa from this line could work for you too. It is pink, but the undertone is definitely peach enough to counter the mauve of your lips- and the pigmentation is good enough on these to make sure you the colour comes out clear.
Naturally, you like some shades more than others, but I'm sure that with your skills, you can make any of these work for you. I don't think any of them looked bad on you. But maybe, not using a lipliner with the swatches, would show the lighter colours more true to colour? 🤔 Rose and berry reds are my favourites.🤩
Sadly without the lip liner paler colours look quite scary ahah! Hopefully because there’s video of me applying it and moving around the colour shows ok still 🤞I agree- rose and red shades for me too!!
