Hi everyone, in this video I try and fix this faulty Ice Maker. It started out not wanting to go through a cycle, went to take it apart and it just all went wrong as you'll see! Shout out to ‪@Mymatevince‬ for inspiring me to try and fix something on video! I hope you all enjoy, I have plenty more fix-it videos planned soon!

IF YOU READ THE MANUAL...you will see that you are supposed to CLEAN the machine whenever you see signs of mold or notice an altered taste. I clean mine every month anyway. BUT...to clean the machine, you either purchase a nickel-safe ice machine cleaner (like used in commercial ice makers) OR you can use a 50/50 solution of WHITE vinegar and water. Run the unit for two bins full of ice with this solution. Then EMPTY the unit of water and rinse the reservoir with clear water. Fill reservoir with clear water and run two bins full. Dump and empty, refill and run. This time, taste the ice from the first batch. If it's okay, you're good. If not, do another clear water rinse. Beyond that, for anyone else with issues on this machine, the most common one is that the panel shows "Add water" when there is plenty of water. 99.9% of the time, this is caused by the water sensor being corroded or just gunked up. Taint easy to get to. It is a slim wire recessed in the right hand (viewed from the front) long plastic piece that also holds the bin full sensor eye. It is in the water stream that enters the bucket. Remove the BACK section of the cover. The front section will NOT come off. Note that this cover TILTS to remove AND replace. Next, remove four screws holding the top on. These should be evident. Just move the top aside. You will easily find the sensor wire. Take it out and gently clean it with a scrubby or fine sandpaper. Maybe I need to do a fix-it vid for this. I've rebuilt mine like 6 times for various reasons.

You're the best! Thank you! I'm sorry there wasn't much to show since that screw wouldn't come out, if you are able to get the screws out, check the limit switches for the basket, they can fail, the water pump can fail, to basket motor can fail, but any one of those parts are typically cheaper than a whole new machine, so if it's one of those simple parts, it's worth investigating for sure, these machines are pretty simple.

Does anyone else have a problem with the lifting part coming off when it scoops up the ice?? We do! Help

I have exactly the same issue with mine, replaced the two microswitches and it is doing the exact same thing. Stuck.

Legit just pushed the plastic back inside the icemaker part while off, it started making noises so i put water in it and sure enough starts pulling the water from the under tank. Hope this helps

While watching I seen this comment and thought because this is a normal problem for these ! Now after watching I have to say EXACTLY how long ? To see you fail ? A few notes I will politely sat edit ,edit, edit on next video, clear yourself a work area in advance maybe some white poster board beneath make it much easier to distinguish what you are looking at. Have a good assortment of tools with you or edit out looking for them that sort of thing but hey we all start some were nice effort. To those watching for cleaning let me help there is a rubber plug in the bottom pull it the unit will drain guess for those not to bright pull it over a sink or outside its not dribble. forget a drop of beach the water will still freeze ! Duh yo don't want it to make a bucket of bleached ice to clean. straight bleach cycle few times pull plug empty again run couple batches and dump pretty much takes bleach out as far as stuff in top duh tooth brush at the same time.
