It has been a few months since I started the ATG Standards program from The Knees Over Toes Guy, and I've gotta say - it has definitely been challenging! Throughout the program, I've been trying to reach the 26 specific strength and mobility standards set for female athletes and I'm only about half way there at the moment. Still lots of work to put in, but I just wanted to share my experience thus far and compare a little of my experience with the standards program vs the dense program. I hope you enjoy!

For the Nordic curls I recommend using bands to assist. Using the mats and pushing off is inconsistent because you tend to push off too much. Within 1-2 months, I’m now up to 4 unassisted curls opposed to the push off method I couldn’t get there. Also bands allow you to do negatives which led me to more gains. My goal is to get 6-8 by the end of the year. On the step down days I usually do pistol squats which is a great complement to that movement for the quads-extremely difficult. But it builds your balance and strengthens the core. I’m surprised ATG program doesn’t have that as a routine - although he did show a guest athlete do it at one point.

I find men tend to do 4-5 days of upper body and 1-2 days of legs with PPL or the bro-splits. Women tend to focus too much on their legs. I lift heavy so I used do one muscle group per day. This program can work. Because you’re splitting upper and lower exercises into a daily routine-giving good recovery time (2-weeks is too much time for me) HERE IS MY ROUTINE: Daily dose of sled push/pull as a “warm up” or starter. I combine ATG leg exercises with the traditional upper body workouts-one upper body and one ATG leg exercise per day-getting the best of both worlds! On my other days I try some mobility exercises. At 5’10”/150 lbs (10% body-fat), I’m 53 years old and look/feel 35.

I'm not sure if it's just about individual imbalances because I think that Nordic standard is unbelievably more difficult for everyone to hit compared to all of the others. i would be shocked if there was someone that could crank that out while having difficult elsewhere. 😅

I would to hear your thoughts on the new Back Ability program! I’m planning to start ATG next month, but I’m still thinking which program to start with because I have chronic back issues, bad posture, AND runners knee.

I shared the program with a friend who had serious doubts. In a nutshell he felt sinovial fluid does not carry healing nutrients. I have not looked into this, he has opinions from 4 or 5 doctors from several years ago.

It may be able to support the knee to become stronger but it won’t heal a torn meniscus

Anyone (even smaller channels) can get a sponsor if the content aligns with the brand and both parties see it being beneficial. It’s often not about just the views, but more so the engagement 🙌🏽
