thanks for the video and your opinions. a reflection: It is crazy how people in youtube (specifically) became experts over others' videos / ideas... well, we can see the original and the "reviewers. "... sometimes you see de videos acknowledging each others but sometimes reviewers just talk and repeat like for example... zone 2 training... it is just repeating and repeating... it is the hunting for views . Here, I was looking for the basic videos of knees over the toes guy, and now I have a bunch of suggestions for videos of, for example, Victoria
is it common after 20 days ACL total rupture to not be able to bend a knee.. or full stretch a leg . Also tension in ahil tenton? Great video keep BEST work!
Do you do any sports? Cause the gym isn’t really anything for the knee compared to soccer or basketball. And that’s when people say the knee won’t be the same
after talking for over 10 minutes about insurance options... Go to MDsave and pay outside of your insurance because its most likely going to be cheaper SMH
I fully tore my acl almost 2 months ago. I am currently doing rehab and have not felt any instability or buckling in the affected knee. i can run up the stairs and even pivot without any difficulty. My chiropractor is saying my knee is built well and the muscles are already compensating for the lack of acl. So i think the non surgical route is the best for me.
Been there twice. Once on the left knee, injured in a fight competition when kicking my opponent and, years later, the right knee, on a bicycle accident. Each time I managed to recover, after surgery, by working hard on the recovery with phisical therapy, gym and pool work (about 6 hours a day). It is really hard, and the recovery is even more paynfull than the injury. But I am back teaching and acting and stage fighting (I know avoid real combat as I am aware the knees are a bit more fragile than before).
Thank you for this video! Tore my ACL completely while dancing and it’s been very difficult deal with how permanent it feels. Literally cried during the video ❤🥺
Felt the same before my football game didn’t wanted to play but still played it and it was 10th min I tripped didn't feel anything but after mri I came to know that tore my acl pcl mcl and meniscus 🙂
You cite papers from 2010-2012. Even language in the position statements from the AAAAI says it should not be considered current after 5 years. Like many scientific endeavors, I think this field has grown more reputable in the last 15 years. Here is a study in PubMed from 2022 that shows findings of a link between elevated IgG levels of wheat, dairy, and eggs and biomarkers associated with intestinal permeability. From the paper: “ Thus, we tested for associations between intestinal permeability biomarkers and food-specific IgG antibodies in 111 adults, with and without gastrointestinal symptoms. All biomarkers and food-specific IgG antibodies were measured via ELISA. The intestinal permeability biomarkers anti-lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and anti-occludin IgG and IgA antibodies, but not anti-vinculin or anti-CdtB IgG antibodies, were significantly and positively associated with IgG-mediated food sensitivities. These significant relationships were attenuated by adjusting for the severity of wheat, dairy, and egg reactions. The results of this study support strong associations between titers of food-specific IgG antibodies and intestinal permeability biomarkers in adults…” pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36147305/ I actually just had this kind of test done through my cardiologist’s office. He is highly credentialed and includes this as an important part of managing cardiovascular health through lowering sub clinical inflammation.
I have just read a few of tbe very inspirational comments here. I overworked my left knee a few days ago and I have been hopping around on my right leg for the last couple of days. Saw a doctor today and hopefully the inflammation will start to recede. Heard about the knee over toes guy today and I will be a convert as soon as I can tolerate movement in my knees.😅 Thank you all fir your helpful comments.
Thank you for your story. I tore my acl 2mos ago from a basketball game 2 days before my 40th birthday. I also had the same feeling going to that game and didnt really wanted to play but i was already there so i did. Was playing well in the first half but then as i was going for a lay up and gathered my feet to jump, my knee gave out and heard the dreaded pop. Just had surgery 2 days ago. Your video is inspiring and hopefully i can go through this ordeal as well and back to playing my passion soon.
Dehydration or alcohol consumption gives me horrible joint pain. It comes on within hours of a few glasses of wine. The dehydration from the alcohol makes it even worse. Alcohol is a demon.. I'd tell anyone to not touch that stuff
I am having my surgery in a few days. I will be watching a lot more of you during my recovery period. I am already feeling a lot more supported by watching you talk about your experience in such an honest and well-structured way. Many thanks, and keep on inspiring.
hey i am recovering from lateral meniscus trim, and acl can i do this type of exercises when i feel better in order to try restore a little bit of the function of my bad knee? Or its risky to do it because i can make it worse?
Ruptured my ACL 2 weeks ago after volleyball. Will start with physiotherapy next week, still don’t know if I will get surgery. I don’t play professionally, but thinking about how my knees wont be the same as it used to be to be really scares me. Your situation was way worst than mine, but it really inspired me. I hope your recovery is still going great.
This is so relatable. I have naturally broad and muscular shoulders that have only gotten bigger with rock climbing, and I have a hard time dressing myself in a flattering way to balance everything out...
Yes! The struggle is real. I typically opt for sleeveless things because of my shoulders but then I always looked like I was heading for a workout. The stylist I worked with is an mma fighter with an athletic build herself so she gets it!
hi victoria thankyou for your videos, did you just have an acl tear if you don’t mind me asking or did you have to get other structures repaired? kind regards
I’m 2.5 months post ACL reconstruction surgery. Thank you for this video! It’s normalizing my experience - the frustrations and fears, the back and forth of progress and the setbacks, the temptation to compare and look for an official timeline of where I should be… The mental/psychological part of recovery is super tough.
It absolutely is, and a lot of people think once they get 1 year or 2 years out, the mental battle is over- but it just shifts and becomes a new sort of dance to learn. All part of the process 🙏
