Yes! Thank you so much for sharing this. As someone with stomach issues, this was so helpful and interesting. As of just weeks ago I began supplementing with a bit of tryptophan. I've taken it the past in small amounts to treat headaches and budding migraines and it would often stop their progression. Certain headaches are associated with low serotonin, and tryptophan aids in that...and it helped. It also helped me sleep surprisingly well so I am testing out taking it more often. I am so happy to hear how important it is for the gut, as it is something I am working on fixing as well. So thank you for this research!

One step closer to solving the fruit fly aging problem which should certainly help us humans! Nice work!

Previous research which I'm sure has caveats linked tryptophan restriction to longevity, it was even mentioned in Sinclair's book

Interesting research, well done video. Do mice have the same cytokines as humans? And I wonder how similar our microbiome is to a mouse?
@NickFisherman
@NickFisherman 3 года назад
It's not as similar as we're led to believe. Researchers primarily do their testing on mice because it's legal, not because mice react to treatment and experimentation in a similar way to humans. You can do whatever you want with a mouse, whereas experimenting with primates has all these restrictions and regulations. Don't get too excited about this kind of news.
