TTA Performance - 1981 Recaro Daytona 500 Pace Car Turbo Trans Am. Muffler Delete. 

I have one just like it. Bought off showroom floor, all original with 21 k miles. Mint condition.

I removed the Cat and Mufflers on my 81and its still the quietest car I own! Can only hear the engine at idle.

When I worked at an Audi dealership the mechanic told me the turbo muffles a lot of sound from the exhaust.

Beautiful 81 Trans Am Daytona Pace Car. Sounds good! Only thing I would do different is to lower that car. To much gap between the fenders and tires. I know they come that way from the factory.

Amazing car, with that low a mileage. Destined to remain an all stock trailer queen. Maybe a museum piece. Me? If it were mine....rip out the entire drivetrain, put it under wraps in mothballs, and give another drivetrain the full TTA monte'. Be a great super sleeper, if it were competing in the F.A.S.T. group. 👍

What muffler would you recommend for a NON turbo 301 ? Would like an aggressive sound

Is there any pre-made pipe that could could bolt in to replace the mufflers?

Curious about how much power and torque is given up as a result of that restrictive, early-'80's exhaust system.

Stock they came with resonators not mufflers, I have 4k 80tta took converter on and left fact resonators and sounds like a 400.
