You’re the reason why I bought the 35mm. I wanted to come back to this video and let you know that it has revitalized my photography. Thank you for the great review. I’m for sure getting the 50 and 16 now. Using the lens on a photoshoot tomorrow!

Great summary. I have the 25 f/2 and 35 f/1.4. IMO, the 35 is sharper but the 25 has more of the character you're talking about (and the 25 feels almost like a pancake lens). They're both good - just different. The 50 is on my list now:). Thanks for the great video.

Thank you very much for this interesting and useful comparison. I have the ZV-E10 and these days I'll get one of these two lenses (probably the 50 because I already own a sharp lens, Sigma 18-55, and I want something as different as possible), so this comparison has helped me a lot. A few things: - I love the colors you get in your pictures, do you use an specific picture profile for it? Or maybe some lut in Lightroom or similar? - This is just a comment: the ZV-E10 has a 6k sensor downsampled to 4k resolution, so using the digital zoom (up to 1.5x) you can use a prime lens as a zoom lens without loosing quality. So your 35mm can in practice be used up to like a 52.5mm, and your 50 up to 75. And you even can add the steadyshot activation, which crops in a bit more. - Now that I see your photos I think these lenses could work very well with a mist filter to get an even deeper dreamy effect (maybe just a 1/8 so it's not over exagerated). Have you tested something like that?

@Mandelrot Thanks for your comment, I'm glad you find this video helpful! -I usually shoot in picture profile 10 hlg 2 or hlg 3, and also do some editing/adjustment in Luminar 4. -I have tried the clear image zoom and active steadyshot, but I don't think these two features work very well with manual lenses because the zoom makes the lens even more shaky. -I haven't tried using these lenses with a mist filter. Actually the 50mm is already very dreamy to me😆😆.

Who is the best for photographing products, such as accessories , rings , sunglasses and neckles for example?
@ConstantineSPhotography
@ConstantineSPhotography Год назад
Between these two lenses, I would recommend 35mm, which has a shorter minimum focus distance and is easier to focus.

Great comparison ca. You do one between the 35mm f0.95

Thanks! 👍 I'll see if I can borrow a 35 0.95 to test!

Great comparison!🙂 I'm a beginner and have the 35mm but I really consider getting the 50mm to play around with more bokeh. Is there really a significant difference in size of bokeh balls? At 0:43 in your video I did not see too much difference, but maybe its the distance/perspective 🤷‍♂ Wonder if it's worth it...
@ConstantineSPhotography
@ConstantineSPhotography Год назад
Thanks for your comment! At 0:43 the bokeh ball size looks similar because the 35mm lens has a shorter minimum focus distance, so I could put it closer to the object, creating bigger bokeh balls. If you look at 2:56 you can see that 50mm lens has much blurry background.

I already have a Sony kit lens 16-50mm f/3.5, and I want to buy fix lense, What do you recommend for me who already has kit Lens? 35mm or 50mm?
@ConstantineSPhotography
@ConstantineSPhotography 9 месяцев назад
It really depends on what category of photography you're into. 35mm is more versatile, it can be used for portrait with more environment, landscapes, street photography, food, etc. 50mm can give you more beautiful background separation.

50mm f1.2 will give you better result for night and portrait, but 35 f1.4 is easier to focus in my opinion.
