Super good guide man. I do this glitch often and this video made me realize I was kinda doing it wrong. This format is perfect for strat tutorials, provided you get the input display up and running again.
It'd be great it you could explain at the start of these kinds of videos why/how this whole glitch works and also show it fully before then breaking it down
Having never attempted this (only dabbled with a handful of speedrun strats for S&Gs) I had no idea it was that picky or complex. Looks so crazy easy when you pros do it, I'd have never known the nuances of it.
does this not work on english? or emulator or some shit? i can't figure out why i can't make this work. even when i jump onto the slope after selecting hold him, mario always just drops him and he goes on about his business to do whatever stupid monkey shit he does
@@k4l3b04 the issue for me turned out to be that i was allowing mario to be stationary after falling from the slope, which drops the monkey. didn't realize you have to stay on the move from the moment you hit the ground. smooth sailing since that realization. also when i said "jump on the slope after selecting hold him" i meant doing the back up, where you hold him until you get a good jump on the slope, then free him.
My speedrunning career is over bf it even started.. great tutorial but my brain cells cannot perform this to save my life.. damn Still would love to see a tutorial on the yahoo glitch for 120 stars to skip to DW!
