Comment below on which system you would choose! PS this video is old and we NO longer have the YZ250F :(

Tubliss is awesome.! Ive ridden 3 days a week 4 hour round trips.on the highway and air down to 7psi on the weekend in the woods. Never an issue. Ive had them o 4 bikes and installed correctly there isnt anything better!

I've been running TuBliss for a long time and general luv the system, the rear traction and adjustability is unbeatable...but I have had some issues with the front, once with sudden air loss that put me down hard. I've been tossing around the idea of running a mousse up front. Since I run 11-12lbs with the front TuBliss a Mousse probably won't feel different and I wouldn't have to mess with changing it as much as a rear... plus 0 flat worries 👍

Yeah I have heard of guys doing that. If you are running 11+ lbs anyhow then a Mousse is the way to go

Recently switched from tubliss to bibs. Ran tubliss for years. Like the bibs set and forget it feature. Feel heavier and take some getting used to the high pressure feel but they are much safer at speed. They allow me to run an 80/100 front tire with no worries.

Thanks for your input. I am a big fan of the tubliss but if you want the most indestructible you have to go Mousse. Which brand of bibs you running?
@PBmxer
@PBmxer 2 года назад
@@BackcountryLife Michelin. They are the cheapest and lightest. If you want them softer, just drill holes. The old used up ones can be cut and used for stuffing your tires that are getting too soft.

I run a standard front nitro mousse and a soft rear nitro. I love them, but I also have a spare wheel set with tubliss in it. I lean mousse most of the time because I get a long way from the truck and don’t have to worry about flats. Even tho you can run on flat with tubliss, but limping back on a front flat would suck. They both awesome and beat tubes.

Yeah, I plan building a set of Nitro Mousse on a different wheel set when I can afford it. Its not fun but I rode 15 miles of mountain single track back to the truck on a flat front tire with Tubliss haha....I forgot to put the tire plugs in my pack.
@Drewski423
@Drewski423 2 года назад
@@BackcountryLife the reason I switched to a mousse set and put the tubliss on a spare set was exactly the same situation. 35 miles from the truck, slit the sidewal on a front. Tried to plug it, but it wasn’t happening. That evening I came home and ordered mousses for my stock wheels, ordered a set of backup KKE wheels to put tubliss in and have been running the standard mousse up front with a 80/100 Shinko 216 and a soft rear on a jx8. It’s been perfect. Some don’t like the dead feel, but I don’t mind it. I really like them.

I have run tubliss, mousses and HD tubes. I had many problems with the tubliss on the front tire and the inner bladder definitely takes a beating when running low pressures. I travelled 12 hrs for an enduro race and my tubliss decided not to hold air. I really liked being able to adjust pressures but when racing and travelling to ride there is still too much of a risk. Mousse now and never looking back. You have to put up with the feeling of higher pressure at first but once they soften up they are GTG. I keep a valve stem in the rim and can add lube whenever I want. They last forever. Run two sets of rims. One with regular compound tires and an enduro gummy set up. Having spare wheels is also ideal to lower the risk of missing a ride or race.
@BackcountryLife
@BackcountryLife 2 года назад
Yeah mousse is the go to for racing!
@mlugaila
@mlugaila 2 года назад
What kind of lube are you using? And how do you “inject” it through the valve stem?
@motovalleyenduro
@motovalleyenduro 2 года назад
@@mlugaila I use the lube from Nitro Mousse, Michelin or Enduro Mousse. I cut a valve stem out of an old tube and leave a few inches of rubber around the base. Once the tire is on you can use the valve stem to help seat the bead by injecting high pressure air into it and you can also use a large automotive syringe with a small piece of clear tubing fit on the valve stem to push lube into the tire. It will work it’s way around the tire in no time.

I would say 90%+ issues with Tubliss are install/operator error. What an awesome invention. That being said I run C/B class..

Yep. I agree.

One reason for issues with tubeless Slow leak you hear so much about that I don’t see people mentioning, is that you can’t install it in a tire that has had a rim lock before. Because the little teeth marks the rim lock leaves allow for air leak.

Ok last I seen you purchased a yz250fx and in this video I see you standing next to a YZ 2 stroke do you have both now? Which one do you like better?
@BackcountryLife
@BackcountryLife 2 года назад
So this was a video that I did a WHILE ago but forgot to release it haha. The YZ250X is one of my most favorite bikes in the world. However, I would choose the 2021 YZ250FX over a 2018 YZ250X.......I am REALLY loving the YZ250FX it fits my riding style and abilities very very well.

Tubliss worked fine with mid/hard tyres, tried a soft rear tyre and it leaked on me first time out

What's best for really rocky terrain with a CR500 setup for enduro? It is a total pain dealing with a high power bike, when it comes to tubes and tires. Thanks!

So Mousse bibs are the most indestructible option but they do not offer any real adjustment when it comes to PSI. If you want to be able to adjust the air pressure go with Tubliss
@user-cl1mr8ox9k
@user-cl1mr8ox9k 6 месяцев назад
I'd say go regular tube in the rear or even Tubliss and then run Mousse bibs in the front. The main thing about heavier bikes especially in rocks is that you want to have the correct tire pressure in the tires, or you'll definitely go flat and have issues. There are guys that run 12-18 PSI in their dirt bike tires (with regular tubes), and that's a no no in my book.

How do you know when it is time to replace your mousse tubes with new ones? Input please, thanks
@BackcountryLife
@BackcountryLife 2 года назад
They break apart and no longer hold your tire up.
@slidewide1999
@slidewide1999 Год назад
They will get progressively softer to the point of getting squirrelly. Replace when they are too soft for your personal tastes.

I saw that Graham Jarvis runs a TuBliss on the front and the Nitro Mousse on the rear. Is this simply because he’s sponsored by both companies and that’s a way to use both products, or is there a real advantage to this setup?
@dirtbikesam
@dirtbikesam 11 месяцев назад
Nitro and Tubliss are manufactured by the same company Nuetech. With Tubliss you can control the air pressure but with mousse you get what you get and they slow break down.
@Ozfreerider2504

Probably because mousse are heavy as shit and he’s minimising the effect on handling . I’ve ran them front and rear on my husky 350 , never again !!!!!! Bike literally felt 10kg heavier !
@sebastianescudero8712
@sebastianescudero8712 Год назад
I run them for years (in the rear tyre and mousse in the front)since i have seen the install video in the dirtbike channel and never had any issues. Just be carefull of the type of tyre. Perhaps a very soft carcasse will not be ideal. The mousse you have to wait that it gets softer and you have to buy new ones very often.

Mousse is very hard to balance, so if you have transitions in your ride, you're going to fill the lumps and non balanced system on a smooth road. Tubeless is easy to balance and is very light, lighter than mousse.

Interesting, I did not know that, thanks for sharing. I have a hard time switching off Tubliss even my racing buddies are trying to get me to try mousse
@Ozfreerider2504

I can’t tell you how many videos I’ve seen about mousse and the supposed “expert” doesn’t mention the negative effects of handling due to the massive increase in wheel weight ! They make bikes feel like total shit due to the increased gyro effect and yet nobody mentions it , it’s like they’ve never actually used them 🤷‍♂️
