The Pelagos deserves much more attention and recognition. Its so underrated. Everyone is talking about the Black Bay 58 but I think the Pelagos is even better.
@rightwristonly8796
@rightwristonly8796 4 года назад
The dimensions for the 58 are better for me but the Pelagos makes up for it with the titanium. I have never owned a watch this big that I enjoyed wearing this much. It really makes a a massive difference having it be lighter. The other thing the Pelagos does is it gets you as close as you can get to the look of a snowflake Tudor sub in a modern Tudor. If the BB58 came in black and white with a 6 o’clock date I would be all over it. If it was titanium I would be happy to pay a pretty large premium for it. But it isn’t available that way so the Pelagos wins 😁

Great video. I own multiple diver style watches from mid tier to luxury. This watch is an absolute stunner. I bought mine in November and it still brings a smile to my face every time I put it on. I rotate between the pelagos, seamaster and submariner. The pelagos is a super bang per buck piece with all the tech to go with it, outstanding value!

Thank you for showing the date change! I haven’t seen another review that shows that. It’s very impressive. I don’t think I’ve seen a watch in real life that can do that.

No problem. It’s always something I want to see in reviews. It’s a little glimpse into how much work was put into the movement and signals to me the quality of the movement.

Great watch and great review! I would prefer it to be a little thinner and smaller. A 40 mm without the escape valve would be perfect for me. I don't need the 500 meters. Do you know how long the lume last in pitch black after being charged?
@rightwristonly8796
@rightwristonly8796 4 года назад
40mm and 12mm thick would be stellar. Your right 500m is unnecessary for the overwhelming majority of owners. I doubt they will do it as they will need to make a new movement to fit a smaller case. Although they did make the BB58! The lume lasts all night but it is massively brilliant for about 2 hours. I have woken up at 3/4 am and noticed it still glowing. Thanks for your question

I honestly can’t say I have noticed any scratches. The titanium holds up well and hides any minor scratches. The clasp does collect the wear though. Not scratches so much but the obvious desk diver wear marks. I’m sure you will love yours.

I have this exact watch and man, is it an incredible piece. Have a BB58 Blue as well but I wear this way more. Such a comfortable bracelet and prefer having a date complication too. Wish it was slightly thinner but I guess that fits the tool watch persona. Oh, and this thing is beyond accurate...beats the hell out of my GS Hi Beat which is disappointing considering the price. My Pelagos is basically a Quartz watch with it's accuracy. Just insane!

Oh man speedy and Pelagos is a dope combo. Add a sleek dress watch and you got a killer 3 watch collection. I had a PO and I really liked it but the HE valve killed me and I had to sell it. The PO is a really great watch. Live with it for a while and you will become attached. It’s a more Aesthetically pleasing watch for sure. The Pelagos just oozes tool vibes though.

Great presentation, just found your channel and subbed,, I really like this watch, but there's a little voice in the back of my head, saying, if you get one, you'll regret not getting the Omega Seamaster,,, !! But this Tudor really ticks all the boxes for me, ! Suppose I'll have to see if I can get to a dealer that has both for sale at the same time,, !! All the best,,, John...
@rightwristonly8796
@rightwristonly8796 4 года назад
Hi John! Not sure where you live but both London Jewelers and Tourneau should have both on hand the majority of the time. There are so many choices when I comes to the Seamaster and it’s a spec monster. Omega does really great work. If I can get my hands on one I will do a review ASAP. I previously owned a Planet Ocean and can tell you I prefer the Pelagos to that. The Helium escape valve is my biggest complaint with the Seamaster 300. Good luck with your search and thanks for the sub!

@rightwristonly8796

I think 42mm is the max for most people. The way the center link connects to end links really helps. It lets the bracelet drop straight down.

How's the strap at 13:00 supposed to work? Do you cut it or what? Cause that looks like a very short rubber strap in a nato design.
@rightwristonly8796
@rightwristonly8796 3 года назад
I’m not an expert and I’m not positive but I think just connects to the other two straps like an extension for diving. I don’t believe it connects directly to the watch. I honestly have never worn it on the rubber. The bracelet is just too good!

i wonder if anyone out there has bought a 2 liner and a 5 liner just to change the dial on the 5 liner (for the inhouse)? Hoping my Pelagos I ordered in January will finally be on my wrist in the next week -_-
@rightwristonly8796
@rightwristonly8796 4 года назад
I don’t know that the dial mount points would be the same. The pins on the back of the eta versions (2 line) probably wouldn’t line up with whatever mount system the in house movement uses. I think Tudor would probably be smart enough to design around this. Especially in the reverse direction, some one trying to pass off a 2 line as a 5 line as the in house version is more expensive. I hope you get your Pelagos soon. That’s a long time to wait. The authorized dealers in NYC seem to be flush with them. When I went in Feb to London Jewelers in the World Trade Center they opened the drawer and had about 6-8 stashed away plus 3 on display!

hi, i want to buy these watches and read a lot about them reviews. And a lot of people write that this titanium watch is a magnet for scratches. it kind of discourages me. please what to your experience? Thx for answer.
@rightwristonly8796
@rightwristonly8796 3 года назад
I beat the hell out of all my Watches, modern or vintage. This watch actually shows it’s scratches the least out of all of my collection. Titanium sort of self heals in that any scratch quickly turns the color of the rest of the watch. I wouldn’t sweat it. The Pelagos is a monster and no little scratch will change that. The other thing is nothing on it is polished so you really don’t notice little dings. The clasp is steel and that is where you will see the greatest amount of dings and scratches. Pick it up it’s worth it.

Boutique’s will never discount a watch. That’s like going to a Ford factory and asking them to discount a car. Plus that just undercuts their AD’s. Any good AD will give you 20% off.

Because then the crown would be on the left and jab me in the back of my hand. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m not into that. It seems to work out in my favor that right hand watches have the crown on the right 😁 also I hate false aged lume. It kills me.

Of course we can all have our opinion but I believe this Tudor to be the finest dive watch you can buy in the under $10,000 range. Other than the more iconic Rolex model, which is obvious, this watch pretty much sliders everything in sight. Plus, it doesn't weigh a million pounds. Plus, people are going to think you're a major douche bag for wearing it. Plus plus plus... Great pick up my friend! And, yes. I do like the Submariner still...

I would have preferred this in stainless steel.
@rightwristonly8796
@rightwristonly8796 3 года назад
I have heard this a bunch of times. I am personally a massive fan of titanium, not just in watches but in all things. I think it would be smart if Tudor to use the BB58 movement and make a stainless steel version of this in 40mm. If they just made this model with all the same dimensions in SS it would weigh a ton. Either way Tudor has really let this model go. They should do something with it.
@harrysmith3502
@harrysmith3502 3 года назад
As scuba diver myself (although I use an Oris Prodiver 52mm diameter as back up timer in deco dives). To go smaller than 42mm would make it less of a ‘tool diver’ and more of a desk diver!! Twisting a 40mm bezel with 5mm neoprene gloves on is a lot like painting a hallway through a letter box - very fiddly. I own a Planet Ocean Ti (as the price was right and cheaper than SS) and I to this day should have gone for SS as it just feels more premium. Ti is warm to the skin but just lacks the “Weight = quality feel’... Great review though buddy.

@rightwristonly8796
@rightwristonly8796 3 года назад
Unless you care about brand recognition or in this case the design. Technically (with the exception of the movement) Sinn will win every time. I love Sinn but Tudors movement is new, more robust, more technically advanced, and has a longer power reserve. Yes I’m sure it’s also more expensive to service. The real driving force with the Pelagos is its looks. It looks so god damn good. I realize that’s an opinion but it’s super clean and easy to read and classic. Tudor will also hold value better but if you just want a tough as nails tool dive watch that is best value for money go get yourself a Sinn. And if you can get both like I did 😉
