I remember the toddler years. It’s frustrating in the moment but time has a way of making you look back fondly. Keep up the great work raising that family!
Wife hears the intro music and was and sees me staring at the tv like a statue. “I’m going out with the girls, looks like you’re on a date with Kev” It’s been a hot minute!
9:00 Can't imagine how pretty this area would be in the fall! Love seeing all the cute family interactions and antics. Love the new rig too. Really coming along nicely!
Been watching you guys for years. Love the build and your videos!! Just got a 1st Gen tundra of my own and am building it out. Suggestion for your dogs e collar. Place the two tabs on the side of his neck versus on his jugular. My dog trainer said it could cause damage to their throat in the puppy stage. Also, you get better contact from the collar so you don’t have to zap him at a higher setting. Just the two cents I got! Happy adventuring!
Thanks for sharing as always. My girls and I watch all the time and they were excited to see how much your girls have grown. We loved seeing Ace as well!
Watching this video had me crying I was laughing so hard because I can completely relate to this. I have a 18 month old, 4 year old and a dog that just turned 3 and when we go camping and the kiddos are off their nap schedule and the dog is excited because he’s in a new place and mom and dad are tired from packing and arguing because it ain’t a camping trip until mom and dad argue am I right lol 😂. That is where you make the memories though and you’ll remember them forever. This was a great video and enjoy your content.
It looks so beautiful and peaceful! I always like and love your family beyond the country and nationality. The God will bless your family.I wiil pray for health and safety and happiness of your family.
Such an appreciated ending, you choose to share. We literally just attempted our first night in the camper as a family of four and ended up calling it. Hard not to feel discouraged, but I knew it was important to keep the overall positive attitude around the night so we packed up and went home. We’ll get there.
Father of 3. I pretty much stopped long truck rides for 3 years till the kids got older. It was just too much for me as a bit of an OCD dad with my car rides. Just did a 14.5hr ride this weekend with the kiddos and there is no replacement for having mom in the back seat, entertaining the youngest.
We run a dogtra GPS collar on our GWP while we're camping, game changer. Download a map beforehand and let him explore to his heart's content and never have to worry.
Every time I see your trailer, I try to piece together what would be ideal for me & I've had so many ideas. Most recently, a small toy hauler for only an atv & storage for supplies with the rooftop tent. But that's already been invented so back to the drawing board I guess. Thanks for sharing another great adventure
The toddler years are so amazing, a bit frustrating, so wonderful, and such a journey. I missed those years when I met my wife as my stepkids were all past the age of 5. But our toddler granddaughter (and oldest daughter) are living with us now, and it's such a gift. It's hilarious to watch their sense of humor form, and to share in the daily activities. Being a PawPaw is the best job I could ever have.
Yup I remember the toddler days when he needed that movie playing over and over for those that remember a V.C.R. WITH the overhead light on, Man upstairs help me… lol. Thanks for Sharing the maiden voyage of GRIZZ! Back roads survived the GRIZZ! But didn’t survive Abigail. Thanks for Sharing Guys…
Thanks for sharing real ish! I love my tundra and getting out to the mountains, but nobody really showcases what camping with toddlers/kids is really like! I really appreciate the "it's ok to try again" mentality! Hopefully we'll see you and your tundra on the trails!
The best nap I ever took camping was with my son when he was 30 months old. Almost no sleep the night before and it down poured with highs in the mid 50's the majority of the weekend. We played in the lake that morning and went back to camp to eat, dry off, and warm up. We snuggled under the sleeping bags to warm up a bit and ended up having the best three hours of sleep in my life! It is now a must do trip 1st weekend in May. His fondest memories of us together is in that camp spot. I have since adopted two kids but that trip is reserved for me and my biological son only! (Don't worry- I go to the coast with my daughter and dirt bag with my other son for our yearly trips.) Making core memories-that's what it is all about! Is that the Uinta Mnts??? I lived in Vernal for 8-9 months and always wanted to explore those...that was back in 1999-time does fly!
For the family full size is the way to go. It may limit the types of trails you can do but that’s an easy sacrifice for the comfort of 4 family members.
Camping with the wife can be like a toddler, but I continue to try to find ways to make things work for her... Thanks for sharing your experience with me. Maybe I can get the Tundra that I want and get rid of my GMC before the tranny goes out for a third time.
Re: "Taken Camp Sites by Trailers" We just got back from Colorado and it was the same on many trails there. Dozens of sites on many trails "reserved" with trailers and no vehicle. No one visited those sites for days on end when we were camping in the area. Frankly I think it's selfish. Pack it out also means your trailer if you're not going to actively use the site. I worry about trails being closed to overnight camping if this becomes more of the norm.
As a father of two young daughters, I understand - and appreciate you showing how it really is. Now to the actual point of this comment: Did I watch because I'm a long time fan and am amazed how time flies with your daughters growing up? Maybe. Did I watch to see the Tundra in the wild? Maybe. Did I watch to see how Ace would fare?............... most definitely :D Cheers
Truely small kids theirs sleep timing is very unpredictable and due to their schedule parents are always in though condition but that's the devotion of a parents for their loving infant. In my time entire night both of us don't sleep at night and had to move on in night morning with daily routine which sometimes was very tough. How ever with 2 babies your vlogue was very nice 👍 have a wonderful time with your kids and happy days ahead ❤❤❤❤❤😊
Every time I see you guys out and sharing your story I can't help but be amazed at how similar your story is with ours. Now with your new tow rig your whole setup is similar to ours. Our kids are similar ages as yours and one of ours is Caroline too. Haha. We had the same experience many times with our 2 year old that you guys had on this trip. Your style and ideas are just like mine, I feel like if we lived in Utah we would probably be friends. 😅 If I remember correctly your trailer is about 3,000lbs? I'm also curious about the trucks gear ratio. How did it do in low rpms? Thanks again for the story and video.
You mentioned that you almost didn't post this video/show the "not so fun side" of camping with young ones, all of us that have tried it have the "same" stories to tell....the 4 month old screaming till 4am...the one that sleeps, the other that doesn't...the one that is a disaster the the first night, great the second, disaster the third..then the next camping trip a disaster all 3 nights in a row..then the next trip an "angel"....when you think you have it sorted( a recipe if you will) and know what to do..then they throw a spanner in the works. It is what it is...and as you say, it may be hell when you're in it...but it's the ones you remember...and if your kids get "over" that initial bedding down process...when they get to the point where "they" are the ones hounding you on when the next trip is?...you know that it was all worth it...(as sleep deprived and frustrating as it was at the time) ;-)
If you don't have one already, get yourself a Pedal Commander. I had one in my Tacoma, 4Runner, and now in my 2019 Tundra as well. Makes a world of difference. For daily driving, I keep it in City mode and the pedal is near 1-to-1 with the throttle. Plus, as a bonus, if you really need to creep on a 4Lo obstacle, switch it to Eco mode where the gas pedal barely feathers the throttle so you can control it better.
Great honest video that tells it like it really is when camping in the back country. I remember after our first child was born the wife and I made the decision we would continue our outdoor activities with an infant and toddler. Yes, it was difficult and challenging but we persevered. Being flexible and with the expectation every day activities just took longer and you just didn't accomplish as much in a day as you did before kids. Sarah's comments on the gas pedal feel.... I am assuming the gas pedal in the Tundra is electronic and not mechanical. Do all of the vehicles you folks own have electronic gas pedals or mechanical? I own vehicles from 2001 to 2018 and there is a significant difference between a mechanical gas pedal and an electronic gas pedal. I really dislike the electronic gas pedal in our 2016 Chevy Equinox. It is extremely sensitive along with the electronic brake pedal. I wonder if the settings for an electronic gas and brake pedal could be adjusted. Most likely not allowed by the manufacturers for legal and safety reasons.
What’s that song during “tundra trail time”? My fiancé and I really want to use it for walking down the aisle at our wedding next month. I’ve spent nearly two hours trying to find it now with no luck
Kevin, looking for another option to support you guys. We got burnt big-time by Patreon a couple of years ago supporting another channel so don’t relish the idea of using them again. Do merch purchases help much? Any other options? We love your channel especially the music you choose (works really well while we use our elliptical. Thanks.

Hello, I had just recently started following your journey on over landing. I have a question about your voyager camper trailer. How much did it cost you to have a set up like what you have? I’m about 6 years away from early retirement and I’m looking towards your way of life. That’s to enjoy nature and what it can offer. Could you please give me total $$$ price. Just to have an idea. Thank you and greatly appreciate what you can help me with.
