1: go catless. There’s no point in going big pipe and still have blockage. 2: don’t do no lift shifting on third and fourth gear, you will break the gears. 3: PRL themselves have posted there is no exhaust system that’s better then the factory exhaust. They said they dyno their car with and without the stock exhaust and had no major change in power to justify it. Changing the exhaust will just be to change noise. 4: Emans type r retro kit clutch is hands down the best. 5: PRL cold air kit with race maf is sooo cool. Love the boost sounds. 6: You have to convert to ethanol flex fuel. The power gains are ridiculous (keep the blend in the 30-40 range). Hit me up if you want more info.
xNuckin_Futs hey man, I just painted it myself. I didn’t want to spend like 300-400 on the spoon one that they painted because it’s still an oem plastic piece
I admire your positive attitude after losing multiple races. I chose to get the RV6 catless down/frontpipe combo from TSP. Best price around and good quality. Should be coming in tomorrow and I took time off work just to install it asap
Great video man as usual been a subscriber for a little while idk if you remember but I got the 2020 civic si today!! Man I’m in love with this car already and I’ve only driven for a couple hours with breaking in! Can’t wait to fully unleash her
MAPerformance. I had the privilege of getting a tour of their facility. They do all their own R&D in house. Test and retest till they get it right, then test on their own Honda Civic before it’s released to the public. They just released their own FMIC and have plans for a big turbo. He even gave me a walk around of their 1/4 mile car.
@@AnimationRecapz down pipe for sure which is one of the best performance part. A short shifter isn't going to be a better start. You touch the shifter when upgrading a clutch.
Cam, that was some pretty cool racing dude. Good stuff. I have a 2018 Si coupe & i am running ALL maperformance exhaust (non-burnt tips) . I would recommend the ceramic coated catless downpipe. It's not bad at all as a daily, noise wise. But when you pour the coals to it, it wakes up. Plus the under hood temps are way down.
i have the prl catted dp paired with the AWE tuning track edition on tsp stage 1. Def huge power gains felt. Careful with the dp install. probably going to snap the top right stud
I have the prl catted downpipe and frontpipe mated to the MAPerformance Race exhaust and couldn’t be happier. So many pops and crackles, it sounds so good, might be too loud for some people but perfect for me... and it made my si’s balls drop and my clutch start to slip😂 but I knew going into it that my clutch was going to give out eventually even on the Ktuner 19.5 psi. I have an ACT street clutch kit in my basement waiting to be installed. Hopefully will get it put on in the next month or so. Just know that if you get a bigger downpipe with that tune your clutch will definitely begin to slip!
In the end it was much closer. He was waiting to shift longer than you. The clutch grab that he had, of course is better than stock but they were good runs. I still like your MAPerformance exhaust better 😀.
Greddy sp catback & prl street down/front, hondata +6lb. Honestly I'd stick with the high flow cat. Just because I daily it 3hrs per day and I like to still hear my music. I feel a difference for sure. However I still need the intercooler & cobra cai.
Pretty solid that a hot reflash alone just about holds against a basemap car with the extra bolt ons/exhaust. TSP/Phearable are a bargain for what they give an otherwise stock car. If he tweaked the 23# map and removed the boost taper (it goes back towards 21#) and bumped his base ignition map up past the torque peak... it’d start really moving away better. I thought the basemaps were pretty lazy up top.
@@Camhill182 Im down to join. Its been a while since my last meet and havent been to one with the new car yet. Had the SI about about a month now. Few little mods, and tsp stage1.
If you get an RV6 downpipe and have it ceramic coated, get it in silver. The engine bay will run cooler.. I also noticed the turbo had less lag with less back pressure on the exhaust.

Clinton Popham the red H has nothing to do with the type r and everything to do with Honda’s formula 1 history. They put it on a type r cause that’s the closest to their racing heritage, by in no means it is a type r badge except for the badge that actually says “type r”. Check this, the s2000 doesn’t share badge size with any other Honda, yet they sell legit red H badges for the s2000 with legit OEM part numbers, and the s2000 doesn’t have a type r...
400 miles into my 2020 Si Coupe. Great little car. i think you guys talked me into a KTuner with the TSP stage 1, otherwise all stock. Will that be below the threshold that will need a stronger clutch? What do y’all think?
Love these videos man! It’s COOL to see what I can do with my 10th gen! You should look into buying an oil catch can since the car is direct injection. Save your intake valves and turbo 🐌
I had a catless downpipe&frontpipe from KLMFAB (canadian brand) on my invidia r400 catback exhaust. on TSP STAGE 1 it was really damn loud but very clean sound. good rumble not raspy or anything.
I like the sedan but the coupe is sick if I could afford one I would get the coupe and try to get 300 320 whp on pump gas and would be happy as hell nice vid man keep the content going I enjoy your vids
Chris Honda you would need a big turbo kit to be that high on just pump gas. Most people have to run e30 because of the limitations on the stock fuel pump
I just want to point out he’s on aftermarket wheels…. Taking weight off the drive train directly affects acceleration. No bs for every 2lbs off drivetrain shows a 1hp gain on the dyno. Obviously it’s not changing the output of power but roller dynos measure up in terms off acceleration of the roller so it’s still relevant. I dropped 14lbs off my drivetrain alone and gained 8hp according to the dyno and in total lost 28lbs over stock wheels. Have to factor that in bro. Maybe he still would have beaten you but you would have been splitting hairs because he didn’t pull away very hard at all.
I have the prl 3" catless downpipe, with stock front pipe and exhaust. Honestly only notice a deeper growl and maybe a little louder in the cabin, but sounds nice. I can send you a video of how mine sounds if you like (not a half throttle 0-25)
@@alanjoynesjr4835 not surprising. This isnt some built race car. Just a matter of time for something to blow up if you exceed factory specs for an extended period especially on a honda which is designed to originally be an econobox.
Get either the 3 Inch PRL or the GESI version of the MAPerformance, yeah its like $800 but the 3 inch prl is high flow and the GESI Maperformance is high flow. I would only get one of these 2 no others. I have the PRL with a 3 inch front pipe you will see a massive difference.
@@Camhill182 I have the invidia for the SI Coupe. I wanted the MAPerformance like yours but I believe as of right now it is a 6-8 week waiting list and I was inpatient.
Great vid man. I think I’ll purchase the phearable tune just to compare it to the tsp. You will definitely notice a difference with a high flow cat. I sent you a DM with the parts I’m running
If you want some secret sauce go to autozone and get Vp racing octane booster I’ve tried them all only vp racing works keeps knock at .49 when I was on tsp or you can just put 2 gallons of e85 with your fill up and that’s the same it will keep it at .49 big difference in power from.49-.60 trust me
having a catless front pipe and downpipe is already a failure for smog. Idk if smog techs care unless you got a a citation for state ref to inspect your car
Intercooler will LARGELY help as boost can be constant the whole race also since commiefornia only has 91 try some octane boost octanium kicks ass as well as klotz itll make ur gas about 98 octane, downpipe will help ur spool time
Thanks to you, I ordered it lol. BUT.... I ordered it thinking they were in CST... so that wasnt the case... they are closed. It will likely be Monday before I am able to get it... :(
@@Camhill182 I like it so far, but I had to go back to TSP stage 1. I am havin a crap ton of K.control issues with Phearable. Just 1 pull pushes me in to .69+minimum. I made a run 2 days ago and looked over and it jumped up to .87 ... I think my typhoon intake breaths to freely, and the tune needs some type of adjustment.
@@Camhill182 Hey, on the side note, Try checking the box for Advanced VSA, then turn the Advanced VSA mode to Aggressive ignition pullback/low fuel pullback. It makes a MASSIVE difference from a dig for me.
Bro, the owner called me from Phearable and explained a few things for me. I figured it was the intake that was the issue in the first place, he confirmed it. I will wait for my 27Won intake to arrive and give it another go around.
Been telling you bro get that DP i have the prl downpipe catted and frontpipe and the car spools up way quicker and catted is nowhere near loud sounds almost stock after warmup
Dakota Hall I gotcha. I appreciate the unique build with the personal touches without dumping thousands on flashy mods. Did you do the clutch replacement yourself? How is the NVH with the 27Won RMM? What other 27Won bolt ons are you considering other than the W1? The 27Won may be something I purchase in the future for my 2017 coupe.
SDAlexander I did not do the clutch myself, I had my car buddy do it. But now I’m gonna have Eman do it when I go down there to do it. Honestly I’m not sure what other mods to do from 27won. I’m probably still gonna go with prls intercooler. The motor mount is amazing, it’s rough at the beginning but I’ve had it on for over a year and I love it so much.
MUST. GET. DOWNPIPE....shit. That '18 is quick! So many mods I need. I told Jeff, I'm tryna follow in his footsteps with his si build! No offense....I mean, you DID sell yours. ;-)
daniel cordoba I think there is like 12 different layouts that you can do on the screen. I’ve seen majority of the people who have it on there run the same stuff as I do
That a boy Cam. Your race videos are the best. Please take your SI to the track for some roll racing. The no left shifting and down pipe were too much. Does your car have a name? Cars need names. Great video man
i noticed shifting robs you of alot more time than him...aaaaand as i was writing this comment I hear him say he wasn't lifting, so it makes sense. Cheers.
Yea im trying to be as nice as I can while still having fun with it, you know? I really dont want to break anything, although If i keep racing its probably going to happen
@@Camhill182 i 100% understand man. i beat the crap out of my 8th gen si while it had over 200,000 kms on it and it still went with abandon, lol. But i'd do same if i was you.
