Great informative video. Im in the process of putting twins on my ls swapped s10. Ill definitely be going back to watch this again when tunning time comes. 👌👍
@@SickSnails thanks so much.IM starting out on a 4.8 with twin ebay turbos.I ran the turbos on a stock bbc and liked them for what they are.Are you running a 4.8-5.3 in your duece or other ls..thanks again your timing table is very helpful and makes the setup alittle easier for me.Im running a csu on e85.
@@smokinboostedduece1170 We are running a 6.0 LS. What size turbos are you running you’ll probably have to have a smaller hot side with the LS to get them spinning if there anything over 60 mm
@@SickSnails they are the gt45s.I have had them on 2 cars and they work great.Im not sure the 4.8 will spool them very well but I already had them so put them on.I have a vid on here on my little duece like yours with the twin ebay turbos. Its on my page or whatever its called.
the 4.8 is in my 69 chevelle.I ran it last 2 years with a stockish 454 and just wanted to move into a modern more readily available engine.Thats the reason for the switch is I can find another ls if I hurt current one the next day for 500 or less
you should be able grab the blue bar on the side and drag it over the graphs, youll see the boxes on the side change rpm ,map ect.. would give you exact values where the line is. same software i use on my grid
Great vid with good detail, but you should be able to grab the blue or red line(At the beginning of the data, bottom left) and drag it along your run to get the exact values(ex: Exact kpa at a specific point etc.), but you have to use the other view not the “overlay”. Also, there should be the option for you to go to “View” at the top, then click “vertical axis” and change your minimums and maximums for each channel individually, but again it’s in the “stacked” view and not in the overlay view that you like.
Oh okay. I just wanted to make sure you knew about those features. I also sent an email as I had a couple of questions I was wondering if you could assist me with on my tune. Thanks for replying! Keep up the great videos.
Good information on the setup. My question is with the twins can you run your car on the street like going to a gas station or a car meet or to church if you wanted to?
Interesting. I have always set timing by rpm at the lowest I would want to see then added timing based on kpa not took away, I guess either works. What kind of boost controller are you running?
I run turbo smart manual boost controller’s. I take timing out on boost. On a turbo car it’s not rpm relevant. It’s all dependent on load I can see On a supercharged car how you would want your minimum timing and then add.
Just found your channel today 10-14-19 - Awesome and good job. But have you bench tested your 6014 box on boost pressure above 23 psi or 259 kpa? The reason I ask because mine after 23 or 259 it goes back to 100 kpa so what ever timing is in that column that’s the timing the engine sees . In your case it would be at 36 degrees at 23 plus psi. I just don’t want to see anybody burn their stuff up.
I ran 24 pounds on it just this weekend it always maintains the last value entered at 21 pounds even in philo it does the same it always maintains its last value
Tommy954rr I need to do another video on the box to explain a little more the scrolling features and stuff like that to be able to dial in and data log a little better
Hey man iv got about the same setup but I have a few questions for you about your two step and launch control wiring for a transbreak. I'm about to put a th400 with a break in my s10 and it's a 5.3 blow through carb setup with a Ebay turbo making like 11 psi. But he how you hooked up your transbreak to work with the box and 2step settings and what exactly the launch control part of the 6014 is for
+Crider prepping channel CPC One side of the button for your trans break is hot the other side of the button you run a wire from that to the blue wire on the box. When you push the trans break button that will send 12 V to that blue wire and activate your two-step. They launc retard is only used if you’re wanting to pull timing to kill power
Also do you use the pink wire? launch control or do you just adjust the launch rpm to help it hook... the car works great and thank you for replying man
Crider prepping channel CPC Yes you need to have one12 V hot going to the trans brake button on one side and then on the other side of the trans brake button one wire going to the Trans break and going to the blue wire. No you do not use the pink wire
@@SickSnails thanks man I just got my th400 put in today so I just need to wire everything up. And have my driveshaft lengthened but I'm running the msd 6014 its not bad but not the best either. I wish there were more options for electronic boost controller software
I know this is an older vid but I’m in the middle of setting up my 6014 now and I got a little confused on the engine speed Vs map timing I thought it ran on of one table or the other not both my question is can you disable the engine speed and use only the map table and how do you do so?
No it runs on both. The map table won’t do anything unless you’re building boost are you just running this on a naturally aspirated car or a boost of application
I think I figured it out when using the engine speed as “base timing” like a distributor you must start from zero on the map table like yours shows I kept getting crazy timing numbers when I put 22deg in at 35-60kpa it was adding it to the timing in the engine speed table lol
@@SickSnails lol sure will I appreciate that for right not it’s just on pump gas stock bottom end deal with tick stage 3 turbo cam and backed with a glide haven’t driven it yet but get but getting it running and moving and working some kinks out as I go
61 worry have a dozen another. They both have their pros and cons. We just know the carburetor system and our money isn’t that long to go fuel injection LOL. Carburetors are good to about 2500 hp
@Antonio Lara Mine is a 6.0. It’ll support up to 1200 hp forced induction on race fuel. You lose about 30% going to 85 so you would be pushing it with the A1000. Are use the Aeromotive brushless 5 gallon per minute
It’s not a bad ignition the millijoules aren’t very strong on it versus the grid. That is a downfall for high boost. Bottom 5’s in the 1/8 low 1.2’s 60ft on just 20lbs
Im trying to decide between the 2. I did watch the turbo video just now. Did you confirm you ran out of turbo with the little ones? Im worried about spooling the big ones.
infamousnova It hooks up like a standard MSD box. The only difference on the LS it comes with the plugs to plug into the crank trigger and the cam sensor. It’s pretty much a plug and play and it has a USB connection to plug the computer in
