Fantastic to see there are still somebody who loves the holden v8 5.0 stroker not many of us left now most people go to the dark side ls motors these days like fuck im ever going to do that and no im not old this bloke really does love his car and that engine good on you mate keep the videos coming
hey Jason, i love watching your vids. you inspired me to do my ute about a year ago. i did a lot of little experiments (trial and errors) to try to get it to spool quicker and not cool down while cruising on a highway. It might be a good idea to put a turbo bag on it. The turbo is sitting directly in the wind. you need to keep the exhaust housing as hot a possible even if its ceramic coated, even your exit pipe out of the exhaust housing it acts like a big heat sink. The hotter the gas the quicker the spool. Even running it fat on the tune helps to. I double wrapped my exhaust (5 rolls later) and bagged the turbo. Now i get boost leaving my driveway. it was a huge difference for me. Keep the vids rolling mate. your getting me pumped to to a vid soon lol
Glad you enjoy them and it inspired you too.. I do have a beanie had it of while working on it.. Yes it does make a difference keeping the heat in.would like to see your setup sometime...
The turbo noise is ace! Congrats on a successful upgrade. The auto seems like a good thing to drive. I look forward to that part of the rundown and learning a bit about the trans.
Thanks buddy. The trans is worth talking about it really makes the car perform. You know its funny when im at the track other drivers cant believe its a auto well i bend all the rules haha..
+Jack Richter i have had those valve cover twenty years and still look amazing.. Yes your on the money with power numbers. Its making more on 7 pound than the old engine on 12 pound..
I have seen the same thing on my cousins engine that i build for him, i bored it 2 mm bigger and that lil 1600 cc went from 265 hp to 345 hp on 1.2 bar boost. I will have to draw up a set of covers and make some, but first have to get all the diesels out the door for my customers.
awesome thanks mate . just building a worked 308 for my hq and was looking for ideas . i have a spooled 4:44 salibury not sure if to use or not and ill look into an ignition setup like that
