Knowing Malaysian warplane acquisition. They are going to purchase 10 with few missiles, and call it a day. At least they're finally moving away from Russian jets.
They're cozy with Australia and the UK but shy of China and Indonesia. They're just hedging bets on South Korea or the Japanese/UK program. The move from Russian jets is a plus, Indonesia seem keen on the same path.
Malaysia is not moving away from Russia jets. The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) is to select the Sukhoi Su-57E Felon fifth-generation stealth fighter as its next Multirole Combat Aircraft (MRCA).
@@xyzaero Malaysian media sources reported that Malaysia is in talks with Russia to purchase Su-57 aircraft as part of a comprehensive plan to modernize its fleet of combat aircraft.
Self-sufficiency, thats what we r looking 4! u r slowly comming the way of understanding, fellers! no need of calling türkiye large as long u dont call türkiye small and pronunciation of türkiye is as good as it can get i suppose. good job! our first aircraft carrier is comming in 3 to 5 years. in 5 years time malaysia and indonesia too r going to make theyre own figter jets. up then the turkish 35.000 lbf or maybe the 40.000 lbf engine will be ready.80.000 lbf 🤣so much thrust, 22 and super hornet pilots will be suprised. one last point. kaan is made to be a 6.th gen fighter including its wingman kizil elma. keep watching kaan!
Tbh, Malaysia's best interest, given their inventory, would be to go for the FA-50M and onwards Kaan or just Super Hornets. And, TAI already has a branch in Malaysia to help with the LMS project (which they are about to sign the agreement with Turkey) and other such work. They have already signed an agreement for the ANKA-S (mentioned for Satcom capability). But I am frankly not optimistic about the Kaan for RMAF. I don't think it makes sense for Malaysia to opt for an aircraft that is said to cost 100-150 million dollars per unit, not because it is not good for them, but because the budget would be more costly than the FA-50M or Super Hornets. Same can be apply with KF-21 too.
since when TAI produce warship? LOL, only TUSAS Malaysia were paticipate to study and colloborate about dron and hurjet. check your facts before comment. TAI means Turkey Aerospace Industry not for battleship building LOL
@@m4nt4z10 Where did I say TAI produces warships? :D TAI has a hub there to help also with the LMS project in partnership with STM (I'm sure you know this company, right?).
@@AcademicNerd since when TAI open hub to help LMS? LOL. TAI was refer to Turkish Aerospace Industry, since when TAI participated with LMS? Answer me dude

Kaan fighter jet was designed as the 5th generation. So far the development stages are going fast and well. It will be a very successful fighter when the testing phases are over. How will you understand this? when at least 10 countries buy it. If Turkiye allows sales, this may increase to 20 countries. As Kaan gains success on the field, his fame will increase. same as in tb2
@@yukseluygar9780 what kind of airplanes you produced untill today ? All Turkiye ever produced is low tech platforms that does not need any significant amount of research development knowledge
IMO the S.Korean KF-21 would be a better buy since Malaysia already signed up for the FA50s. More mature project, integrated (or planned for) with western ordnance and much easier to convince the Koreans to include knowledge transfer and contracts for local industry with a bigger cheque. Maybe would consider Turkiye as a partner for ordnance/sensors manufacuring and integration. It's a pipe dream anyway. Doubt the Malaysian government has any fiscal room for such risky bets.
Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) is to select a squadron of 18 of the Sukhoi Su-57E Felon fifth-generation stealth fighter as its next Multirole Combat Aircraft (MRCA). Malaysia had signed off on a 4.08 billion ringgit ($910 million) purchase of 18 FA-50 fighter jets, plus another 18 FA-50 after the first batch have been deliver. Malaysia Officially Acquires Three frigate Mission (LMS) Warships from Turkey . Malaysia buy up to 10 of the littoral mission frigate ships at a cost of approximately 300 million each from China.
Ignoring the geographic size of Turkey, the size of the Government's budget deficit is likely the driving force, at least for finding customers, as it's large.
These guy underestimate Türkiye and it s history . Turks teach how to organise army to Europeans and Americans . This aircraft you call 5 generish is actually more close to 6 generation aircraft because of it has AI and network centric drone control systems. Check the Kızılelma and Anka -3 then come and say 5 generish aircraft once again
Plus with F35s at Changi soon... Mostly depends on whether Malaysian government is focused on consulting contracts and tech transfer, fighting neighbors, or deterring people trying to get forceful against many different SCS states. If they're worried about the people at Fiery Cross Reef they should focus on capabilities, interoperability, partnerships, and opportunities for further advanced systems.
Probably going to be a 4th Gen Fighter in 5th Gen clothes. Similar to Chinese and Russian efforts. That radar/fire control and ECM are going to continue to lack behind, probably 20 to 50 years compared to what the US is capable of today.
You are right. KAAN will be a 4th Gen. Fighter in 2028-30. Only if they get the avionics and home-grown engine right, it could become a 5th Gen. But if they achieve enough to overtake the FC-31 capability-wise, it would be the most capable 5th Gen. Fighter which can be bought by states without special relations with the US (to get F-35s). Are you sure the Chinese efforts are lacking behind 20-50 years as well? Would be great news after seeing all the China-War discussions in the US.
As a Turk, unfortunately nationalism is very abundant in Turkey and my fellow countrymen like to be in nationalist circle-jerks, which has been stalling our both economy and progressiveness. Mover probably had a lot of silly comments because they said Turkey is a small country in any way.
@@idkjames No worries man none taken, I know it's silly as hell, nationalism is the only thing the uneducated majority have left in this country - not that it's doing us any good. Hopefully Turkey will see better days. Hopefully we all will, actually
