People dont envy just posessions. Sometimes you wil cross those who envy based on your physical traits. Height athleticism face etc. Those short fat toads seek ways to bring you down if you allow them proximity to yoir life. I learned the hard way.

Robert Greene write to help people. if he was writing for fame and high sales figures he would probly write books who was more easy to read and who is not confronting people with their dark sides i think

I have been is psychotherapy for 2 years. I experienced a 2 years long passive aggressive friendship motivated by envy. I had made some progress of my own in therapy and while reading the book I found out the real dynamic of our friendship however I also realised that I have been the one to envy too in the past, which had reduced due to therapy. But this book is helping me grow so much and makes sense of myself and those around me. Thanks a lot Robert for writing this book. I hope to end my own generational trauma and be a more empathetic person

but what if your friend tells you that they envy you...is that healthy? it makes me uncomfortable tbh

I try to swap the word envy for curiosity. For example, if an individual makes progress in the same arena as me, I ask them how they did it. If this method would work for me, I keep it. If not, I don’t. In other words, is there something I can learn here?
