I watched this video again today and really put myself into your process with the incredible amount of work you did on this one. Tackling a piece that really looked like garbage to start with, I am sure was a genuine challenge. I know I would not have put that much effort in myself, but you did rescue and turn it into something quite surprising and wonderful. I was mostly just watching your channel on these restorations but found Barry's channel last week, and found that he is friends with you, so I thought that was cool... Now I want to tackle restoring an old dresser I have in my basement studio. Unfortunately, I don't have any tools anymore as I live in a townhouse/condo now that I am so old. My dresser is huge and has a huge mirror and has partitions in the drawers that are painted inside. The dresser is also painted and I have no idea what is under the paint but I know it is well made and even has a compartment with a wooden "lid" inside one of the sections of a top drawer. The hardware is solid brass I am sure and quite fabulous... I am getting so curious now as to what is hiding under the paint... It has a bit of a Victorian look to it, so it has fancy edges and details... It would probably take me a long time to transform it... It's looking like I won't be able to tackle it now that Canadian Winter is around the corner as I will have to get professional movers to take it upstairs and outside next Spring... Gosh, is it just a dream?

Hi there!! How have you been? Well, I hope. I haven't been around for a while because I've been pretty sick for quite a while. I'm finally beginning to feel a little better, thank the Lord, since I'd just about given up. I have not even been able to sit up and mess with the computer. I sure have missed you and the other pages I watch. You look well and I'm so glad. It's good to see you working your little head off. 😄 It pleased me very much to see you transform this poor old chest of drawers tonight. I love it, and really like those legs. The black gives the lighter color such lovely contrast. The handles you chose are perfect. Love the cat, too. I don't think I've seen this beautiful black beauty. So, you keep on doing well and remember how happy you make us by what you create. Be well. Blessings... ❤

Probably others thought this same thing, but we thought you were going to attach your 3D art onto the dresser somehow! We thought you might just attach it flat to the top off to the side and just have it be a pretty detail. I also thought maybe you’d attach it to the drawers and then cut it so that the pieces broke apart when the drawers were open. But finally we realized that the 3D art was just a break to make something beautiful but not related to the dresser at all. Anyway, the dresser and the multi-dimensional blossom are wonderful! I love those kitties, too. They are just darling floofs.

I always love the way you select pieces that are a challenge and this was no exception. I have to say at this point that I absolutely hate the trend to burn everything in sight and call it good. On this occasion I am dubious but still feel that a black stain, similar to the one you used on the handles may have been a better choice, but that's my dislike of burning taking over. I have never heard the phrase Batman Hardware before and intend to use it whenever I can. Brilliant description. The end product was as good as could be expected from what you had to work with and I cannot find any faults in your repairs. Keep 'em coming and look after your visitors/inspectors.

Hey Jay, this piece really turned out sharp looking. I really like the whole different style you did. Sometimes that happens to us. We think we know what we want yet when it’s done it’s not even close. What you did for the last time was perfecto. I like style of handles n the cute little piece you used for the key holes. And the legs another perfecto. Nice shape to them. I truly admire you n especially how you take so much pride in your work. Aren’t you glad you gave up your job so you can be doing what you love ( and your good at it too). ♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟🌟🌟 PS. I like that new sander you used the smaller one. You’ve got more tools (some great ones too) more than Carter has pills. 😆😆

I think you do a fantastic job and what I like best is you admit you hate something and you redo it. I think that happens more with other people who restore things than they want to admit. You want to get it just right which says a lot about the quality of your work. I also really like your voiceovers. Thank you.

It always blows my mind that the cats don't seem to mind all the noise and movement when you're working. I'm loving your extremely cool new tools! I'm not a pinewood fan but it is a useful wood...to paint over. Yeesh, I just don't like the knots and yellow tint. That's just my opinion though, it's good for about 2 cents. The piece did turn out very rustic!
