yeah im just a one man show. Did not even upload this for myself. I make no money off youtube. Just saw there were no reviews or anyone showing the product so wanted to help people out. Going to get another vid up with measurements and some drive time in acc because a lot of people have been asking for it.
Everyone thought it was going to be a meme, but it's actually a sweet setup especially for the price. It's kinda toy-looking, but who cares if the FFB is good and the pedals feel nice?

been itching for this review man. thanks. i think im going to get this wheel, maybe not tonight but for the mid-tier DD, button box, digital speedometer, and numerous buttons on the wheel, $650 isn't bad for a casual player like myself. i am on pc, so the buttons and telemetry should work fine for me... i have heard of software issues though... we shall see
Yeah I agree mate. I have a CSL DD so I know the options out there. The button box, and dash is really awesome, love the QR too, think 7.2nm is plenty. I would like to see a round wheel option. And a good shifter. But I like what I see and think this makes for a solid set-up

Highly recommend getting a small spring from a hardware store and playing around with different setups with replacing the rubber blocks in the load cell brake. I have one rubber block and a medium sized spring. It gives initial brake input when you lightly press, but slowly increases pressure like a real brake in a real car. At stock its basically a full stop wall you hit.
My son got his a few days ago. This is our third sim steering set up. We also have a standard sim racing chair with mounting points for shifter, pedals and wheel. We have an Xbox One BTW. We started with the G20 2yrs ago. It was OK. Set up easy minus cheap plastic screw things on the wheel. It got the job done for a beginner, but eventually FFB died so it was time to upgrade. Next we got the PXN V10. The steering wheel looked cool...but it was Tiny and wonky design on buttons. The pedals and shifter were both much better on the PXN vs G20. However, the PXN was a pain to set up i.e. had to use addition clamps on steering wheel to keep it secure, calibration was a pain, had to plug into a controller for it to work, and after 2 months it was filled with bugs like taking screenshots on its own and stoping mid race on its own. I hope the V12 version is better and bigger wheel. The suede steering wheel also cool but gets dirty easy/hard to clean. Enter the turtle beach set up. My son used half his savings to get it. So it better work dangit. Here's the low down from a dad who knows little about sim. It was packed well. Everything set up seemless and quickly. Steering wheel mounted right up no issues with lift etc. The pedals are Not plastic. They have a nice aluminum metal feel and smooth. The steel kick plate nice too. Yes the base is plastic but it's mounted to a metal from on sim chair. The pedals look and function are fantastic. We love the pressurized brake pedal too. The side control center is a nice bonus area along with back-lit buttons in any color you desire. The start button turns the wheel on along with a hidden power button on the side. Cool. Can also turn xbox on on the wheel mount area too. Cool. You can shut the system down quick on the fly by pressing the kinetic button. The other buttons I don't know but they look cool. My son will figure it out lol. It all drives very clean and smooth. Good response time too. Best system yet. Just turn it on and go. No crazy calibration or needing a controller to connect. A+ here turtle beach. The screen on the wheel is a rad feature. It's a level up from all others for sure. Even it seems kiddish to some...who cares bc that's all we had 30+ years ago in our backseat. But it's way more than that. User friendly and cool. The only cons are it didn't come with a shifter despite having a cluth pedal. Side note, the clutch pedal drops easily, good feature if not needed. The other con is no live info on the screen unless using a PC. Hopeful both will be avail soon. Great job turtle beach!!
Center spring being enabled is probably muting a lot of effects for you, that setting is specifically for games without FFB so you can retain a level of feeling, but should be turned off in all other cases.
on pc most of the buttons cant bind because they map as same button. After doing the firmware update, all buttons are their own. Also feedback seemed to act better after the update.
@flonyme8174 I would love to see its compatibility with pc and assetto corsa. I have the g920, and if the right thing comes along, I may be convince to upgrade a little earlier than I had planned.
Looks like a nice set for the price. Hope they make a PlayStation one. I’m curious if any games will use that telemetry on Xbox, in the past Xbox has never really played nice with in game telemetry, most games won’t even move the shift lights on my wheel
@@flonyme8174the pedals are wobbly and almost all the plastics feel cheap to me, and whenever i pushed the pedals hard into their bumpstop they would keep locking to that position as 100% so i would have to press the gas extremely hard to apply 100% throttle.
probably too late now but you could always adjust the dead zone in the gas pedal so your at full throttle with less travel. Thats what I ended up doing. I agree with the plastic feeling stupid. Really dumb choice in my opinion to make the pedal base plastic.
Unfortunately it seems that the wheel don't have any PRESET (like Logitech, Thrustmaster or Fanatec) on PC Games = you need, in all PC games, to programm manually all buttons, all axes, all the FFB. In some games it's easy but sometime it can be also a nightmare. Also about the Telemetry on the screen: it's only working on PC (and not on Xbox). Also on Xbox only 8 buttons are working (rotaries of the wheel & buttons of the button box are only working on PC).
you're going to have to play with the settings a lot in Forza to find the best FFB. Maybe look at settings recommended to the Fanatec CSL DD 8nm since its at least close in terms of power. Use that as a starting point. I know my Moza R5 out of the box was vague with Forza but after tuning it with some recommended settings from other users, I can now feel the road and the car very well. My rumble strips were non existent before tuning too. Once you figure out the game settings that feel good you can then turn the FFB percentage up or down per car by going under the car tuning options.
The garage bedroom setup 🥺 or can I ask where your playing lol 3 years ago I was living In my grandparents garage with 4 other people with curtains to separate each “bedroom” all had Xbox’s or pcs broke as a joke playing games tryna make it 🥴 I mean if your not then environment is pretty damn close lol wall AC…..unfinished walls…space heater.. and the bed being all in just the same space haha just thought it was convenient lololol
I think FFB will be a lot stronger and better on PC. Xbox is known to have problems with weak FFB. Forza Motorsport has a bad FFB on top od that. Try it on PC. On Assetto, iRacing, Automobilista 2, rF2, etc.
Have you had an issue when sitting in your car, not touching the wheel it shakes back and forth?? I have this wheel too, play iRacing’s and it shakes crazily when in car but not driving. Also I could not bind anything to the engine start/stop button
No I have not had that issue on forza at least. may be an in game setting. Or A wheel setting on the dash set to high combined with an in game setting.
@@tokeupsumbud101 I do think that as well on start/stop, lame lol. I noticed my FFB in iRacing’s was 12 for the old G920, and wheel was going crazy. I turned in game FFB down to 4 and it went away about 85% or so
@@paniiioo loop control? I do need to update firmware. But I only found out about the v1 tuner app yesterday for pc and this around bed time saw the update needed 20 minutes. I’ll do it today after work.
I dont think you adjusted the force feedback in game. Turn the wheel force feedback to 100% and make adjustments to the in game force feedback to your liking. Probably why feedback felt so weak.
while moza r5 is also a good option you also have to remember that this wheel is more powerfull, comes with a loadcell pedals, display, button box and console compatibility for only $650 and i would argue that this is even better value.
@@dawidkossowski4714 As announce by Turtle Beach, don't forget that the 7,2Nm is only for the maximum peaks (it is not the constant force) = it's mean that the constant force in Nm is really lower on this wheel base. The MOZA R5 is 5Nm for constant force = it's mean probably around 9Nm or more for the maximum peaks.
gt apex classic. It works pretty good. Does wobble left to right a bit. It was cheap. i would not recommend it if you are not willing to do some modifications to it. for $129 I figured it was worth saving $150 and making some brackets at home to stiffen it up.
seemed to work better in forza. Ill turn it off next time I give it a lap and see how it feels without it. Those were just the default settings out of the box on the base.
So is it worth the money. I been keeping an eye on this wheel Is it better than a g923. I have 5amp power supply mod and the trubrake v2 brake mod for g923
i would say as far as I can tell so far yes, But I would wait until they get the software ironed out and to see if it holds up to daily use over time. I will be updating review after i get some more seat time in some more serious sims soon.
@@flonyme8174keep an eye on sales. ACC frequently goes on sale for like 10 bucks. And honestly, if tou like GT racing, once you go ACC you will never look back to any other game.
@@flonyme8174 neither of them are great on console but ACC would be the better choice. AC is great for mods for us PC gamers. ACC on PC with my Moza R5 is fantastic.
@@MotoMedicine904nah. ACC on series X runs at super stable 4k with high fidelity physics and force feedback. Forza is not a simulation that’s why the feeling is not there
I might get this wheel even though it’s buggy I don’t really care I have g923 and I want a direct drive wheel for the price I gotta keep my price under 700 bucks and I might buy a usb shifter for it to cause I play a lot of beamng on my gtx 1650 so I’m pretty budget lol
Yeah dude Forza has some of the worst force feedback of a lot of the games. Try gt7 or acc. You should get a drastic difference in the ffb. But check what turtle says are full compatibility titles. You should be blown away by the ffb. Especially if you were coming from anything not direct drive.
