I used to use triangular shaped version of this dock. I now have the Penn plax turtle topper. IMO its the best commercially sold basking dock. Its sits on top the tank so theres no chance of it sinking. But this one is good too.

What size tank do you have?

Hi. Thanks for the video. I have a yellow slider and he's about 4 inches wide and wish inches long. I was looking at getting one of the floating docks that attaches to the side with suction cups but those don't always stay dry. I have a 20 gall breeder tank. Do you recommend this dock or smaller one?

Yeah, I have been doing upgrades to my cherokee recently and now that those upgrades are finished I plan to get offroading more soon. Next time I go, I'll be sure to take lots of video.

it's clean and water quality / chemistry is perfect. the 'look' of it from the top can be deceiving especially with the bird feather covered screen. However, of course the water is of perfect quality.

Do you think there's a way to add something to it to use it as a non-floating, solid platform for a snake? I have a terrarium that's over two feet high, and it would be great to give as many opportunities as possible for him to get close to his night light if needed.

will the Large size turtle dock fit in a 30gal long tank?

So, I'm planning to get a pet turtle and was wondering: So, The average room temp. in my house on a relatively hot day is abt. 30 degrees Celsius (86 F) And since you said the basking area should be around this temp, should I also get a heat lamp for the basking area or is only a good UVB light enough? and how do I keep the water temperature from getting too hot?? and if I want to keep fish with turtles, what are the best fish to get??

I just got the triangle turtle pier and it doesn't float very well, and the 2 turtles I have keep knocking the ramp off the platform. I can hold the platform up with rocks, but do you have any ideas for the ramp? Or do you have any ideas for a home made platform maybe?

how big is your tank? i got a 40gal tank for my one turtle and trying to find a dock that is good enough to hold him, he is 6 to 7 inch and about 2 pounds, do you think this would work?

Whats the width of the dock? My tank is only 11 inches wide and im wondering if this will fit.

This tank is a 40breeder size, so probably like yours. This platform holds my turtles just fine, I think it would be a good choice for you.

Do I need to live the uvb lamp on all day

My turtle dock sinks how do I keep it up

Really, it warped? That would be bad. As for me, I have no problem with it holding weight, it holds my turtles up way above the water no problem, perhaps the bottom air pockets you didn't have filled correctly with air? I hope it lasts. For now it is working great, but I'll just see how long it lasts. Thanks for the info.

If you're using a 40 gallon breeder tank that's 18in×36in make sure you don't use this. This turtle doc is 14 inches wide and if your turtle decides to slide back in the water off the side,they can get stuck. Depending on the size of your turtle and if this doc is centered in the tank. If your tank is 18in wide and the doc is pushed all the way towards the side turtle can slide back in on the front and whichever side will have roughly 4in for turtle to go back in. If it's centered or even off centered they'll have 2-3 inches and they can get stuck between the glass and the dock. I have a larger Red ear slider and she was just large enough to get stuck. Luckily I got home from work and she didn't die,but she was exhausted from struggling and pretty much gave up,she had to be stuck for hours.I don't want this to happen to anyone else so I decided to leave this message. Make sure that if you buy one of these that your tank is 15-16in wide and you should be fine. And again my tank is 18in wide. My turtle likes to push things around too and go places that her body can't fit. So take that into consideration also,if your turtle does stuff like that too. Now I'm shopping around for some other type of turtle doc.

Thinking of getting this for my Sheldon... He's getting rather chunky (8 years old) So i hope this will work. The normal Sideglass suction islands are just to small.

true that man i know how it is for your water to be clean and the glass on the tank to be dirty. But like i said i understand how u feel i love my turtles

think it depends on the type of turtle, but many turtle types you can simply look at their belly shell. If their belly shell seems to 'dent' inwards a bit, it is most likely a male; whereas, if the belly shell appears to protrude out a bit, then it is probably a female.

Will it float without all the legs and stuff? I saw a review on Amazon and the person was just using the platform and the ramp and it seemed to work for them. Did you try that in your tank?

I'm thinking about buying this for my turtle, would it hold her? She is a 8 inch female yellow bellied slider, please respond.

How heavy of a turtle can it support without going below the water. I am getting 2 RES (about 5-6 in diameter) and was wondering if you think this dock would be able to support them. On Amazon reviewers thought it did not support their turtles and several people modified it to make the top height fixed (with zip ties or packing) in order to keep the platform above water. Thanks!

I should've watched this video before I bought the turtle dock it works fine since mine is a hatchling but it was more expensive than that and it can only hold up to two pounds ( its the medium ) but still in the long run that would have works out better

he needs to move that sand out of the way and then find a space to stick the suction cups to stick to the bottom of the tank and make sure that the suction cups at the bottom of the turtle dock doesn't slide around.

If you wanted to add more buoyancy you could always add styrofoam underneath it in square blocks that you can get from Pat Catan's and that will create more float

The glass is just dirty, and since I was making this video and putting in this large dock it was a bit cluttered/not setup. After video I rearranged the rocks and made it look nicer. I'll have an update video on the turtles soon.
