Zoo Med Floating Dock Review - WHY IS THIS IN EVERY STORE?! 

My female red eared slider is 20 years old about and 12 inches and has been using a this dock for the past 17 years. She has no problem staying on or being dry. I think it depends on the individual turtle as well. Good video though. Thanks

It's Styrofoam. You can literally poke holes into the other side and use it like that.

Hello Long Live. Being that you are clearly rhe most informed and hands on experienced terrapin owner on Tube I wanted to ask you a quick question. I'm preparing for tank upgrade for my red eared slider. He's still four inches, a male and was very sick when I rescued him and his nine brothers and sisters last winter from a low life bathtub breeder. Anyway, pet smart has a nice 40 gallon top fin on sale for $60, I loke the aqinon tanks but to many reviews of catastrophic leakage attached to the product and Thrive brand only makes kits so its basically $300 for a tank and a bunch of useless crap. My question is are these tanks even strong enough to take the hits of a terrapin shell. He doesn't hit the glass all the time. But sometimes when he's dry docking and I walk in the room he's a total spaz and will leap in any direction usually towards the glass...of course. What kind of tank do you have? Is there any special glass that I'm not finding in my R&D. All anyone talks about is amount of water and size of tank . Appreciate any advice and insight. Obviously variables probably exsist with any tank so I wouldn't hold you to any recommendations but what's your opinion?

So, this got me thinking. I have an above-tank basking area that I think my turtle is afraid to use. If I got him something similar to this, would he be more inclined to bask?

It isn’t worth it once your turtle gets too big. My RES started chewing it at one point. 😂

I bought this for my girl a couple years ago and was disappointed. She isn't a big turtle, she is on the smaller side like Moses, yet the dock was too small for her and would sink. The suction cups are terrible and ALWAYS coming off. I repurposed it as a ramp for a DIY above tank basker for a short while before I ditched it completely after building an eggcrate basker. Now it just sits in a drawer awaiting me to come up with another DIY project that might need it. I think the smaller ones are good for starter turtle tanks but the "large" one is a waste of money. Especially since the cost to build an eggcrate basker was roughly the same price.

Can’t stand those things.They are garbage. You can buy a plastic storage container with a lid and make an above tank basking area that is pretty big for about $8. There are Plenty of DIY videos on how to do it. Don’t waste your money on this crap.
