I love your work so much! You’re such an inspiration to me ❤️ how do you decide what colours to mix? And how do you get your paint to go on and move so smoothly?
@rushfish66
@rushfish66 2 года назад
hello! i’m just starting out on learning to paint and i was wondering how you decide what colors go where? i really like the sort of messy and thick strokes you use in your artworks, and the use of color as well. beautiful work :)

The first brush was from a discontinured set I found at Ross Dress For Less, but the second one(with the white grip) is from a FolkArt set I got at Wal Mart. Here it is on Amazon: amzn.to/2MjYL0R

Hey! I love your art and one of your videos inspired me to try out painting portraits and I still love painting them now! I was wondering if you find meaning within your portraits, or paint them for the sake of painting? One thing I struggle with is finding meaning within my art. I feel like most artists I see have very deep and emotional art, while I paint best when I don’t think about it. I worry that my art somehow isn’t as good, even if the painting is great. I would appreciate any of your insight on meaning within art, so thanks in advance!

Hi. I love a good, deep and emotional artwork. The ones I've made have been few and far between, however. For me, painting is like sustenance. I've had some perfect and sentimental meals, but for the most part I'm eating to survive. It's okay for the majority of your work to not have great emotional meaning. When it does happen, you will be prepared with the skill you need to tackle it. There's also something working below the surface of your less meaningful work that when taken in context of a larger body of work reveals its meaning.

@@LarrivaArt Thank you for the quick reply! It’s nice to hear that not every painting has to be very emotional. I’ll have to tackle my next paintings with less expectation. I haven’t been painting much because of this anxiety, and I can almost feel the absence of it, in a way. Once again, thank you! I just bought a handful of art cards from your shop and I am very excited to receive them!
