I put this thing to the test after a night of Wings and beer! Gotta tell ya, the first check wipe with TP produced no tracking! I was amazed. My TP usage has gone down literally 98%. 2% for the check wipes. If anyone is curious, the reason for the bidet’s success is the fact that “smearing” is absolutely eliminated and that’s what causes excess TP usage. Get one of these things for your comfort, health, cleanliness AND pocketbook!!

FYI you might find brown stuff when you take off your toilet seat. Unless it smells, it's PROBABLY corrosion/rust from the hardware. After you clean, be sure to WD-40 all your bolts to help prevent more brown stuff in the future. Great video! Just got mine installed today!

Hello Tushy has extenders that you can attach to the part where you screw the device under the lid. It moves it forward a little so you have more space to move the spout back and forth.

Well before this pandemic I had thought about adding a bidet attachment to one of my toilets. But I made the move during the beginning of the pandemic and the only question I have is why did it take me soooo long. My wife and I will only poop in that toilet, the bidet leaves you shower fresh and little toilet paper needed just to pat water off your rear. Going to add these to other home toilets.

Kristen, good video. I just discovered your channel as I was looking around for information on bamboo toilet paper. I got all the information I could want on that subject from your very thorough video series. 😊 Then I noticed that you installed and tested the Tushy bidet product that they sent you with the roll of Tushy bamboo toilet paper. I've had a bidet installed on my toilet for nearly 2 years now though I will admit that mine is a high end seat bidet with warm water, air dry, etc. It definitely cost a good bit more but it's easier on sensitive parts as you note and the warm water (adjustable temperature) is more effective at cleaning, um, "residue" off than cold water is, besides being more comfortable. With the air dry (heated air dry) I can often just go completely hands free with no toilet paper needed at all. So from that standpoint I'm slowly paying for the price of the bidet seat in toilet paper savings. And there's no panic under the current environment of no toilet paper availability. I know you said that you can't see in the near term completely giving up toilet paper use but if you had a better bidet seat with air dry you might.

We got a Tushy a month ago. Installed it and fell in love with it! I had to order an adapter because I have a skirted toilet so I needed to attach it to the intake as opposed to the tank. We cut way down on the TP.

I just installed my Tushy bidet. Love it! One thing I want to mention is that I had to buy longer toilet seat bolts than the ones I had originally. But they are only $2 at Home Depot.

I bought an attachment too (not that brand though) that works very well. It's hand held so you can aim from front to back to protect from Urinary Tract Infections. I still have to use the TP to dry off though.

The frida mom hand bidet is amazing too, and portable, you just have to fill it up at the sink before you use it. It can have great water pressure depending how hard you squeeze the bottle.

I'm currently researching. I'm glad you mentioned that the water "wand" only has one position so apparently you must have a good aim of bum to get it washed correctly. No wonder the bidets where you buy the whole seat, etc. cost hundreds of dollars because they sanitize, have front and back settings, etc. As always you get what you pay for, butt (haha) this looks like a good starter bidet. Besides that their commercials absolutely rock, I'd buy it just because they have a sense of humor and turn a sensitive topi to fun.

Look on Amazon. Tushy is a great manufacturer but there are many other toilet-bidet brands ranging from $30 basic attachments to several hundred $$$s for models that electronically heat-thermostat the water as well as the toilet seat, automatically spray room deodorant and provide a soft bowl illuminating nite-light.

I use the Tushy Spa but don’t yet have the hot water hooked up. We need to replace our sink…it’s a whole thing. But! I don’t mind the cold water. It’s definitely off-putting at first but you do quickly get used to it. I dare say it’s refreshing! I also use a little toilet paper for the same reasons as you. Curious how you feel 2 years in! (Still can’t get my husband to try it 🙄. Maybe one day!)

If your Tushy sprayer wand is Not Fully moving, it is probably one of two reasons, or could be a combination of both reasons. 1. it is binding, because the mounting bolts are to Tight binding the spray arm. OR 2. Alignment of Tushy left, to right, or centered. I would start by Loosening the Mounting bolts till they are loose, then test it again for spray wand movement, Also slide it to left all the way, test spray wand movement, then slide all the way to the Right, test it, then more centered, and test it. My first thought is it is Binding and out of alignment. I have two of these, But I didnt Over tighten them when mounting them.

Make sure you don’t position the contraption all the way against the back of your toilet because the water nozzle is adjustable, back to front, and needs a little room to move.

A piece of advice, keep a soft towel or cotton cloth to dry yourself or wipe away water remaining otherwise it will make a clear spot of water on what you are wearing and most importantly water will make a smell or cause bacteria after being left in tight places for while. Yes, with this type of idet, you must move yoursel. There is a much simpler and better type of bidet which is connected to a hose and you hang it on a holder next to the toilet. You don't need to move if you use this one and it sprays water better with much better hand control.

You can buy a slightly more expensive model (Tushy Spa) that offers warm water. But you have to use an extra hot water line connection for that to work, so a bit harder to install.

I paid a whole $45 Canadian to get the hot/cold bidet, essential in Canada. Though if it ever stops snowing, I will disconnect the hot water line for the summer, until later into fall. Not hard to attach a hot water line, but it does have to stretch around to the other side of my toilet, since almost all bidets are right handed controls. As for using tp. I use cut up old t-shirts. It's the perfect material, it's soft, absorbent, and recycles those stained old t-shirts my old man wears out. Those tushie glorified face clothes don't look very absorbent or comfortable. I think that's why some people, like the channel op have a hard time letting go of tp, because something short circuits about wiping our bums w/ face cloths. I will also add what others have mentioned too, that using warm water does really increase the efficiency. I use some tp for number 1#'s during the day, but it lasts so much longer than tp lasts for women, since we tend to fly through it. And if I can delicately mention this factor, having a bidet for periodic female wash gets rid of tp itch. Feminine hygiene was the main reason I bought it.

How do you fix the flexible hose connections so they don't leak? I tried using Teflon tape, hand tightening, and using a wrench. The water pours out from both ends. I'm ready to chuck it in the garbage.

Is it too cold? I’m about to order a Tushy and in a way I like simple, classic but my family is saying that warm water is a must so…Tushy Spa model instead??? 🤔 I have used various bidets in my travels so of course I can survive with regular cold water but it’s hard to convince skeptics in my family who don’t believe in change 😆

Everyone says it has zero waste... technically it is using water. Still better than toilet paper. I'm probably going to buy one of these. I don't understand why, as Americans, we refuse to change over to water vs paper. You'd think it was the metric system or driving on the left side of the road... unlike those things, there aren't any drawbacks to having a clean asshole. Seriously, who feels clean after going to the bathroom and wiping with TP? I compare it to going to the gym. When I get home from working out, I want a shower. After I go to the bathroom, I want a shower too. I'm happy to join our European brethren in this endeavor. Come on people let's keep our butts clean.

Stephen 1982 You’re right. Technically, it is using water. But it’s reducing your water, energy, and paper usage which makes it a low waste option. That’s why they call it a zero waste option.😊 More Americans definitely need to be using these!

It takes 23 gallons of water to manufacture one roll of toilet paper. So the bidet is way more conservative in the water department, although I understand the initial thought of the bidet using more water, but that is not even close to being even partially true. Thanks................., Rob L.

,bidet is good but shatafa is the best ever,because you can control the force of water rush ,direction of water and can use it to clean your front and back parts and if youre urine accidently spray on the side of your front part you can also clean it.

For me, it’s not worth the extra cost. And you have to hook up the Tushy Spa to your sink for hot water. It seemed a little more intimidating to me. Overall, if you want the hot water feature, go for it! But I still love my Tushy Classic. I don’t feel like I need the upgrade. 😊👍

Just attach a toilet sprayer, it has better pressure and costs a couple of bucks. At least in my country but you can surely get one from Amazon.

I’m waiting on extenders and a pressure regulator insert from Tushy Classic bc our Kohler toilet doesn’t allow the nozzle to move and the water pressure is too painful on our bottoms. I really do hope those two items work for us. Otherwise, I will return it.

They aren’t included. I had no problem without them! There is obviously a slight angle, but nothing that broke the seat or anything. It might depend on your individual toilet seat however. Hope that helps!

Yeah, the lack of bumpers really bothered me. The seat hinges have plastic fittings. I feel like repeated stresses on those hinges will eventually cause them to crack. Tushy should really include four bumpers with the kit because they know exactly how thick their bidet is.

You can buy bumpers for a few dollars at the hardware store. Recommend because the gap can eventually crack your seat.

I tried unscrewing the bottom of the toilet/connection to the float, and it broke. I was then left without a toilet, hundreds of dollars of plumbing repair, and a whole lot of hassle. Just my experience.

So many consome, I was eco anxious just with the amount of time with water on xD Why use it if you still use toilet paper. The advantage is for the invisible water footprint of the toilet to be eliminated, without is double the consumption of water with the bide more the waterfootprint of toilet paper......

They put Teflon tape in the kit that you are supposed to wrap the pipe threads with. Also, you need to make sure your connections are tight. #usererror 🤷🏼‍♀️

OK you using less toilet paper but how much more water are you using , did the water bill go up, you still have to flush ,is it better than the moist wipes, seems like either way you need a shower afterwards,kinda silly how it makes you feel talking about a subject that pertains to every person , everyday.

you have a lot to learn, step 1 do your thing, step 2 wipe with toilet paper get the most of it off, step 3 turn the water on your bidet, step 4 put liquid soap on your hand and wash, rinse and dry with towel. you don't just sit there and expect the water to do the job for you, when you shower don't you wash with soap? same thing with the bidet.

when i was in malaysia they straight up had all ine one bathrooms no walls in the bathrooms to seperate shower and toilet and sink. and the bidets were litterally hoses you would hose your ass . it was great. im getting this kind tho because my dad and his health he cant sit or stand or use his legs, cant reach his but without pain. so the little jet of water already inside. thats why im gettin it . its ordered hope it works well. he falls asleep a lot on toilet in mornings and we gotta keep waking him up. now we can just jet some water to his ass.

It's water from the pipe connected to the wall, not what's in the toilet tank. You can also wash out the back of your toilet with bleach btw.

Not really. If the stream were powerful enough to do that, it would also hurt your sensitive anus. So, in a sense, its a self-regulating solution.

Lots of cleaning water all over the floor they forget to push the sprayer down after use. Poop splatter. Men pee on it Extra cleaning the hand held spray is fast as lest cleaning..
