I've always had the ability to tongue pop, it seems to be a rare talent. When I demonstrate, people respond with only lame tongue clicks. When a family conversation came up on what one can do for a "Got Talent" show, I said "I can do this...", and launched into the 70's "Popcorn" song by Hot Butter. My brother said "No,... don't do that again..."

Is it possible to have a tongue too big to properly tongue pop? I especially cannot do it with my mouth being closed like Alyssa Edwards. The closer I put it to my teeth the quieter it gets, if I put it just before the ridge of my mouth where it goes up to the teeth it's SUPER loud. gah

Btw I correct what I said... I think what you’re doing is a GREAT tongue click. It’s used in South African dialects known as “clicking” as well. Tongue “popping” is what myself and expert Tamar Braxton do really well. Watch the video where she teaches Anderson Cooper how to tongue pop. 🤣😂🤣
