i´d like to add, that installing a mosfet is a great idea, especially if you go for using 11.1 Lipo. I run Siegetek 20.88:1 on mine with a JG blue motor (22TPA) and some other upgrades, i get around 16-18rps on a 11.1V 3000 mah, and i can pull any spring, i only run M120 now, but some fields allows 150ms springs, which i think is around 450-500 fps (not sure), which i can pull without anything runs hot. Mine is a CA 249 however my boxmag seems to jam somewhere, i have no idea why.

I I have a problem with my PKM gearbox, I shimed it couple times, but for some reason it stucks making the noise and don’t cock the piston at all, o tried to make gears loose, and tight no difference.

I love my a&k m249. It's so fun to empty a box mag in one long burst. That and seeing people be like "dude your going to kill your gun/battery". After 50k rounds the stock piston has zero wear

Mind me asking which nozzle you've got in that M249? I installed a m16 lonex cylinder kit in mine today, and the nozzle is right around 21mm long, and it would NOT feed consistently.

Well, I got issue with my M249 CA. It's generating 0,8-1,0J with any spring, M100 or M140, no difference. Also, hopup chamber doesn't block into the engraving in hopup support. Looks like gearbox is lifting it up a little bit. Any tips for that?

There's no need (or point) to shim the lower end of the Bevel Gear, only the top (main Bevel Gear end). Once the Box is assembled, the Bevel Gear is held against the R/H Bearing (and Shims) by the Motor Pinion Gear, so any Shims on the other end serve no purpose, as when running, the Pinion Gear will always be forcing the Bevel Gear over to the right. Motor Height Adjuster screw is 4mm. Drill out to 4.2mm, and thread hole with a 5mm Tap, fit a good quality 5mm Allen Grub Screw, no more stripped threads. No MOSFET? The Microswitches used in M249s (and M60s, and others) are only rated to around 15Amps (if you're lucky), not nearly high enough for even a non-upgraded AEG. It's fairly common for them to burn out. Get rid of the poxy plastic C-Clip Inner Barrel retainer, drill and tap the Hop unit at the top rear edge for a 4mm Grub screw to secure the Barrel. File a small flat on the Barrel where it bears, and cut a slot in the Brass Barrel Spacer Sleeve for the Grub Screw to fit through. Once done, the Barrel can't rotate at all, and you can support the weight of the Gun on the inner Barrel (if you really want to). Hop Nub, make the Hole into a width-ways Slot, approx 5mm wide, and make a suitably sized and shaped plastic piece to fit the slot, shape the top to to mate with the Adjuster Dial inner surface, shape the bottom however you wish. Spring Guide. Machine 12mm off the rear, and machine another slot forward of the original, front edge 12mm forward of the original slot front edge. You now have a two-position Spring Guide. Rear (original) Slot is now your 'Full-Power' setting. New (forward) Slot is a lower power setting. If you need to drop the power quickly (e.g. for in and around Buildings), you can simply push in slightly on the Guide, release the Latch, and let the Guide back onto the front Slot. No need to carry a spare Spring with you in-game, and no chance of dropping the Guide or Spring.

The last owner of my m249 from classic army has cut a guide for gearbox that centers it relative to the hop-up camera and inner barrel. Thanks to this I should use a pieces paper to centers my gearbox. Do you know where i can buy new guide and shutter knob to fix this problem? P.S. In my country details like that are not in sale and sorry for my bad english.

i have been really scared to buy the gun and the gearbox shell break or crack or something because here in brazil is almost impossible find that type of gearbox shell.. should i buy a classic army m249 or not? theres any risk or cracking or breaking the gearbox shell WITHOUT doing any upgrade.. keeping factory original?

Aaaah! I spent 20 minutes now trying to put that damn thing together, there is always something in the middle i cant get to its place...

My lmg is missfeeding a lot to the point it mostly wont feed bbs in. The box mag is okay though

I’ve been having issues with my m249. Sometimes it doesn’t feed and if it does it only shoots like 3 feet. I tried the alignment with the hopup but still doesn’t work. Any tips?

Piccolo appunto: fissare bene le due viti laterali che mantengono il GB in sede, e magari bloccarle con un pò di smalto. Con le vibrazioni tendono a svitarsi lasciando libero il GB che non appoggiandosi più al gruppo hop-up causerà problemi di pescaggio. L'alternativa è portarsi le brugole in campo XD

Pistons. I treat Pistons as 'Mechanical Fuses' If you get a Jam for any reason, I'd rather the plastic teeth on the Piston stripped, than the Piston AND Gears getting destroyed. I'd rather replace a £/$15 Piston than a set of £/$40+ Gears. A Standard Marui Piston, with AoE corrected, will last just as long as a Metal Tooth Piston.
